Gave Little Tokyo a try, I had the hibachi and I ordered two rolls from the sushi bar, for the hibachi I had the steak and shrimp with the fried rice and it was delicious, the steak was cooked perfectly as well as the shrimp which sometimes gets overcooked but the Chef "DK" did an amazing job and was very entertaining. The meal itself was a good portion size, enough I had some to take with me, i got the dinner so it came with soup and salad which were really good, I like the dressing they make for the salad it had a really nice flavor to it, I could have used that as a sauce. From the sushi bar I got the romantic roll and the butterfly roll which were both great! The Romantic rolls was my favorite of the two but I'd definitely order the butterfly again. If you're looking for sushi, don't go to Little Tokyo. They don't serve sushi, as they don't make sushi rice. My partner and I ordered the gyoza, naruto roll, chriashi (which comes with miso soup and salad), the romantic roll, and a bottle of sake. The hostess asked how she could help us, rather than offering a table. We asked for a table for two. She repeated her question "How can I help you" another two times before we finally got her to understand that we wanted a table for two. We were starting to think that the restaurant was reservation only, given her reluctance to seat us. Nearly every table was empty, which made this interaction even more awkward and confusing. The gyoza was the only thing that tasted good, but it had a chunk of bone in it, and it was only lukewarm when it hit the table. Two minutes later, we were eating cold gyoza with bone shards. The naruto roll looked good to me, but my partner thought it looked weird like maybe the fish was not fresh? I didn't agree with that, but I do see how the sticky sweet sauce it was doused in may have been off-putting given that it is a cucumber wrapped roll that's intended to be fresh and light. The cucumber was sliced so thick, rather than paper thin, and it looked like it was sliced by an amateur, not a sushi chef. As a result, it was impossible to pick up a piece without it falling apart completely. It was difficult to eat and not enjoyable. The miso soup was bland, and strangely sweet. I have had miso soup from many different restaurants before, and they differ slightly from one place to the next, but I've never had a miso soup that tasted like it had sugar added to it, and I've never had one that I felt needed any soy sauce. This one did. The salad is not something I ever expect much from, as it is usually just some lettuce with shredded carrots and ginger dressing, but this salad was all the thick white core parts of the iceberg lettuce. The part that you usually throw away. It also had nothing else in it other than lettuce and a very watery dressing. The chirashi was not chirashi. Chirashi is traditionally served as a bowl of sushi rice with assorted pieces of raw fish on top. This was not that. It was a very large flat plate, about a foot and a half in diameter, with 2 pieces each of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, snapper, and whitefish sashimi. Most of the space on the plate was filled with radish. There was a tiny mound of half frozen seaweed salad, the ice made it crunchy, and a small mound of octopus salad. Lastly, was a little bowl of rice topped with what looked like eel sauce, sesame seed, and furikake. I dug under to taste the rice without any toppings and it wasn't sushi rice. It was plain white rice, without even any salt. I couldn't believe it. I reached over and scraped some rice off of my partner's romatic roll, and it was also not sushi rice. Just plain unsalted white rice. Lastly, the sake. I ordered my favorite Sho Chiku Bai Nigori sake, and even specified that it was the green bottle. I was served Sho Chiku Bai Daiginjo (this one is in a clear bottle with a pink label). The bottle was already open, so I went ahead and drank it anyway because I'm not here to waste alcohol, but it wasn't what I wanted and the food was so bad that I didn't bother to try ordering another bottle of the sake I wanted. The total came out to about $100, which is what I would expect to pay for really good sushi. This was not that. Everything was low quality. It was definitely overpriced for the quality of the food. read more

The food and portions are great. I'm giving a 4 star just because most places that are hibachi also give noodle within the plates this one does not. Services the front is wonderful, but sometimes hit or miss with the wait staff. Very neat, and clean. We love going here when we can and the wallet has some room lol. First of all, we ordered too much food. Let's just get that out of the way. (Insert chuckle here...) Big Bro suggested this place for a lunch run before errands. With a bit of time, I wanted to kinda do a quick look on their Yelp page and was delighted I had this place bookmarked to begin with! And yeah, I had a list of things to consider for grub, so I looked so very looked forward to the stop. The place was open and welcoming. It's a pretty big place with high ceilings and really clean. Our party of five had no reservations but there was plenty of tables open (given we got here a few minutes after their doors opened.) Their menu wasn't too extensive but choices aplenty. Since I came prepared (bookmarked and notes and all), it wasn't difficult to decide. I started off with a SABA NIGIRI (forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry!) and that flavor was expected: there's that combination of sweet and savory and salty fish taste I was seeking. It was delicious. Next was DEEP FRIED SOFT SHELLED CRABS (this is a must-have for me at anytime I see it on the menu.) The batter was a bit thicker than I prefer but it maybe to mask the smaller-than-it-looks size of the crab. It wasn't bad at all, but it might have been a game changer if the batter was a bit more thin. The main flavor essence of the crab sorta took a back seat because of it. Still good, but could be better. Last for our set of apps was the HAMACHI KAMA (another must-have!) and it was seasoned and broiled so perfectly! This was a first for some people in my party and they seemed to like it. Boy, there was nothing left of that neck the bones. Highly recommending! For a main course, I went for the TEMPURA BENTO LUNCH BOX. Okay, so I knew what it came with, I just didn't realize the portions were so big! Miso soup was average at best, I wasn't really interested in the salad so I passed it on to Big Bro who snarfed it all up (even after finishing his) so it goes to show it must have been good. Egg rolls (came with two!) were average, maybe a little bit above par, and the tempura was also average. I didn't want to fill up too much so I barely touched the rice. And this is the reason why I say we ordered too much food. I saw on their menu they had a sushi boat (for a party of 2) so I figure Big Bro and I could share. Had I known it was this much, we would have skipped the bento box lunches altogether. Man, the size of this thing could feed four people easy! The presentation was enticing and beautiful, not to mention appetizing! Everyone got a little bit of everything and we all enjoyed it entirely! FOOD: 4.5. SERVICE: 4. Food came out timely, but there was a bit of gaps in between. But still above average. VALUE: 5. Way more than fair for what we got, I thought it was a bargain! PARKING: Shared private lot. Will not be an issue. OVERALL: 4.5. Everyone enjoyed their individual main courses. We all left full and satisfied and happy-happy. This place is going to remain bookmarked because I intend to come back. (Still have tons on their menu I would like to try.) The cooking was amazing. The waiter was horrible. He acted like he didn't want to be bothered by us. A long hair was in the middle of one of our peoples food and the female manager with glasses questioned us as if we put it in the food. Our person was just complimenting how good her food was prior to that. Then the rules here on what you can do when you have an allergy you can't substitute for something. The manager was very pushy for us to hurry up and pay our bill as well. It was just a really horrible experience here all around. I really enjoyed myself here. We lucked up and was seated at a table with a family already placing their orders so there was no wait time. Though I didnt get a chance to fully look at the menu, I didn't mind not having to wait. I ordered edamame and the steak and shrimp combo. As with most hibachi spots, your plate comes with rice and veggies. The chef was interactive and quite entertaining. He made sure to put everyone on the spotlight. The food was also seasoned to perfection and they give you more than enough to take home. I was able to get 3 meals out of it (once at the actual restaurant and two more times). I did notice with this restaurant, there isnt much if a price difference betweeb their lunch menu and dinner for some items. read more

This place has really went down hill in the past few years. Calamari was chewy, spring rolls were tiny and smushy inside, fried sushi was nothing how it used to taste - the exterior crunch tastes stale? And the rice inside was so soft it basically disintegrated. To top it off, roach on window. This will be our last visit. $77 check and the only thing I enjoyed was the sweet tea. read more

She seemed overwhelmed, wasn't able to answer simple menu questions, and more than once we went thirsty at dinner. She was friendly but I don't want to have her serve if I ever go back. We waited so long for our appetizers, drinks, and soup/salad starters that I'd forgotten about them! Our cook was really good, he made the food exactly as we asked. Okay so three times ordering the same thing. I add on salmon on top $3 extra. Every time the charges were different. First time they charged me $6 to add salmon. Next time they charged me $6.35 EACH roll for a total of $14.80 extra charge NOT including the price of the roll. Third time, $3 each on top of the wrong roll with only 1/5th covered. So idk wtf is going on but Little Tokyo is sooooo inconsistent, they're just pissing on me already and it's absolutely frustrating! I'm most upset about the $14 charge. First visit here. Very nice and clean. Staff friendly but slow. Bunch of people standing around and only a few working hard. We had tepanyaki... chef was ok cause he injured himself but it is sad when you are there and see other chefs interacting better. Food was good. Not oily but take the fried rice they don't ask if you want steamed rice cause it is a day old rice they use to make fried rice... sushi had good flavor but the rice was a little smashed. But everything was centered. Food was cooked to perfection and if you ordered a med rare steak you go that... will b back to try the sushi bar and the hamachi Kama... very rare in these parts.. price not that bad either. I have to say the sushi I tried was pretty good . I didn't care for the hibachi side of the restaurant I think that side needs a little work . The salmon was a little overcooked and way too much sauce, but it was edible. The eggs in the fried rice were a little overdone. We will give it another chance. Went in tonight with my husband and daughter. Chose to do hibachi because our daughter (&us) enjoys the ambiance of the hibachi experience. Our waiter was okay.. she seemed too busy too care..but it's the hibachi chef that got me. Upon his arrival, he didn't greet anyone , nor did he introduce himself. The experience was boring and bland. He stated "he was ready to go home" when we asked how he was, and didn't do much of anything to make our experience worth while. No tricks, nor much fire and for a $137 ticket, I would have expected more. We could've sat at a booth and had more fun with the three of us than he delivered. I wouldn't recommend or frequent this place at all. We went in at about 8:30-8:45 and got sat at around 9:15. Go to Nami's , you'll get better customer service from the chefs there in my opinion. read more

Worst service ever! The little girl hostess was rude and did everything in her power not to service us. We came in as a large group, most was getting the hibachi grill, the place was empty and seating was available and she didn't want to do her job and seat us. When we asked why she said she didn't have the space available, but with an empty dining room we wondered what unavailable space she was talking about. We ended up leaving after waiting 30min in an empty restaurant. We had 14 people and I know we all would of spent a pretty penny there between appetizers, the grill and drinks, but with her attitude and lack of concern for the restaurants business we ended up leaving. I will make sure that whoever suggest this restaurant again for a meal or group gathering I'll tell them NOT to bother with your restaurant. Any place that cost as much as they do needs to be tasty at all times I'm sorry. My girl dragged me to this place with the raw fish she likes to eat. I was skeptical at first but after two Vodkas I gave it a try. She had some shrimp head that of course I had to try, raw salmon and some roll thing. The stuff really wasn't that bad. Everything appears really clean and it's good service. Service is lacking. From the start our party of 5 was sat on the backside of the grill, while other seats were open. We asked to change seats for a different grill area but the server (Kayla) said we could not change. Soup came out luke warm and tasted more like beef broth than miso soup. The edamame was warm on the outside but cold inside and unsalted. The salad was old and frosted with ice like it had been prepared the day prior. The sushi roll was delicious. Should of gotten more sushi since that was the only thing so far that wasnt messed up. Dishes piled up all the way through dinner. Drinks went empty on more than one occasion. One of the most rated restaurants in Killeen. I honestly have no clue how they are still open and maintaining an average of three star. I order the black dragon eel sushi, hibachi steak and chicken. The hibachi meals I order came with miso soup and salad. Miso soup wasn't even hot it was warm, had a vibe that they just put it in the microwave. Salad was not fresh and sushi was ok. Hibachi steak and chicken was ok lacks a lot of flavors.I wish they had already put yum yum sauce on the side for a meals instead of me waiting 20mins for a waiter to notice me maybe it's the new generation with bad customer service. My whole meal cost about $72. Which is ridiculous for the lack of flavors and customer service. read more
