Wow, what an extreme disappointment. Since our last visit things have gone completely south. Let's start with apps, miso soup is chicken broth complete with swirl noodles. Ginger salad is not a dressing I e ever tasted before and was a gross color and taste. Tempura vegetables were cooked in old oil. Sushi- tastes like the lackluster enthusiasm of the employee who made it (we sat directly across from the station). He sighed each time a ticket rand twice in an hour only. Maybe everyone else knew not to order and one was ours. Old fish, flavorless sushi rice and paper tasted old. Honestly, you can go to Kroger down the road and get fresher any day of the week for a fraction of the cost. Shrimp hibachi platter, overcooked shrimp doused in a very strange orange sauce. Very well run friendly place that has an inviting feel. I was out of town and look I g for a late dinner. I went the route of appetizers for dinner. It was served in courses as it was prepared which worked out well, something to start eating. The soup was very flavorful and piping hot followed by the Crab Rangoon which was fresh from the fryer and delightfully crispy. Food was OK. I'm disappointed that I ordered the steak and shrimp lunch special and got half an order of steak, only 4 shrimp despite it being more expensive. The Veggies were cold, not cooked enough. I don't recommend this place and won't be returning. My favorite hibachi restaurant in the area. The spicy rice is extra good and not found on the menu ( to my knowledge ) so make sure to check that out! Little Tokyo is a great place (and possibly only place) in Milledgeville to get hibachi. They also have some great sushi as well. I've been visiting Little Tokyo since they first opened across the street in the little strip mall, and recently they have moved to the old Mellow Mushroom location. The renovations they done are incredible and fits the restaurant perfectly. I've had the sushi a couple of times and it's always been fresh and tasty. But mainly I come to Little Tokyo for the hibachi experience. I really like their filet mignon cooked with fresh garlic which I pair with shrimp; and the fried rice and vegetables are great too. The hibachi show here is ok; you can tell they are a little inexperienced, but they do a great job and are always super friendly. While this restaurant is a little expensive for Milledgeville it is still a great addition of ethnic food to the little town. read more

Little Tokyo serves hibachi and sushi. We stopped in for the sushi dinner. I started with a plum wine, which is a first-time Japanese treat for me. It is a sweet wine, but I did enjoy it. We ordered a starter of the fried dumplings. They were delicious and I would certainly order the next time I ate here. Perfect crunch texture and delicious. For main course we ordered raw sushi rolls. Many of the rolls on the menu were cooked tempura, which we were disappointed with and avoided. We ordered Green Roll, which was our favorite. Good herbal flavor and a nice crunch texture. The avocado roll was delicious and our second favorite. The spicy tuna roll was ok and the rainbow roll was our highest potential but disappointed us. We ordered a side of yummy sauce and that perked things up. They have a kids menu which is great! My daughter ordered the scallops and I tasted them...turned out to be my favorite part of the meal!!! If I could give this place a zero, I would without a doubt. Everything we ordered was terrible. The ginger salad, miso soup, crab rangoon, the sushi (super crunch, shrimp tempura, and spicy tuna), and veggie hibachi. The yum yum sauce was the worst however, it tasted only of onions. I had seen Little Tokyo many times when passing through Milledgeville, but never visited it until late 2019. I love hibachi, but rarely make time for it. This was such a great atmosphere and just as much fun as you can imagine hibachi to be. Our cook was highly-engaged with us and cooked our food perfectly. I almost walked out after the soup because when I tasted it, it was certainly not the correct flavor and very cloudy. My fault, I should have left then.
