I've been to Little Woodrow's plenty of times, but my last visit really stood out thanks to Katelyn. She didn't just take orders -- she paid attention. From noticing my drink was almost empty before I had to ask, to remembering exactly how I wanted my burger cooked (no small feat in a packed sports bar), her attention to detail was on another level. She also caught that a friend at our table had a food allergy without us even mentioning it again after the first round -- she double-checked the kitchen and made sure everything came out safe. That kind of proactive care is rare. On top of that, her customer service was warm, quick, and genuine. Even with a full bar crowd, she never seemed rushed or distracted. I actually love going here, the food and drinks are consistent. The service is not. I've been here more times than I can count, but I've noticed a lot of disorganization. There's been multiple times I've been sat for over 20 minutes without being served. Other servers will notice me, not take it upon themselves to get me a water or anything while I wait, or let someone else know that I'm there. Nope, just have to wait until someone shows up or feels like taking my table. More than once, I've had to flag someone down to serve me. Management has noticed a few times and let me know someone will come to me soon, but that's not always the case. Specifically today, for playoff game, I got there right after open to get a table. I sat down at 11:15 am, wasn't served until 11:40 am. Server let us know she was running late, didn't apologize for it - just let us know. That's not a good look. I understand things happen, but that can be handled way better - by everyone. It wasn't even busy yet. She proceeded to ignore my group, she'd be at a nearby table, we'd try to get her attention and she'd just turn right back around. Inexcusable. The environment here is honestly perfect for catching a game -- tons of outdoor seating options and plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded. I grabbed a burger and it was delicious, way better than your average bar food. And as always, the beer selection here is on point with plenty of choices to fit whatever you're in the mood for. Four of us have met every Tuesday at Little Woodrow's since January to watch local sports--Astros, University of Houston, Rockets, and other sports programming. It's become a weekly tradition we all enjoy. Tuesday, June 2, my nephew called and told me the place was packed for the season premiere of Love Island. I was surprised that a public venue would choose to broadcast what many would consider a soft-porn television show. Still, I assumed it was a one-time event and that things would return to normal the following week. Last night, June 9, we arrived to find the sports programming turned off and Love Island once again playing on the big screen (approximately a 16' wide screen). The difference was the large crowd was not there, just a small group of outdoor guests, When I asked other patrons if they would mind us putting the Astros game on they all said "we would prefer it". To put this in perspective, YouTube will not allow many clips from the show to be posted because of its sexually explicit content. Yet Little Woodrow's has chosen to make it the featured attraction in a public outdoor setting. What bothers me most is that Little Woodrow's advertises itself as being "always on sports." Apparently, a more accurate slogan would be: "Always on sports... unless Soft Porn is on." After enduring an entire episode, I asked our excellent waitress, Emily, if the televisions could be switched to the Astros game at 8:30. She explained that company policy requires Love Island to remain on the big screen whenever it airs. When I spoke with the manager, he confirmed the same policy. I pointed out that there is a children's play area less than 30 feet away, with families and children present. His response was, "They shouldn't have put the children's area there." The show's volume is broadcast loudly throughout the outdoor complex. Every profanity is clearly heard across neighboring businesses and restaurants, and closed captioning ensures that the language can also be read by anyone passing by. The issue isn't whether Little Woodrow's has the legal right to show the program. The real question is whether this is the hill they want to die on. What message does it send when a business effectively says, "We know children and families are nearby, but we're showing it anyway"? I also wonder whether First Colony Mall management is aware of what is being broadcast throughout their outdoor shopping area. Likewise, I would be interested to know what the City of Sugar Land thinks about programming of this nature being projected into a public space where anyone walking by is exposed to it including children. If this were being shown inside a private venue, I would fully understand. But this is an outdoor environment where families, shoppers, and children have no choice but to see and hear it. The true disappointment is that Little Woodrow's has otherwise been a great place. Unfortunately, because of this policy, our Tuesday night tradition has come to an end. I'm a big fan of Sports Bars and Little Woodrow's made a great first impression on me. They have great outdoor seating available and partially covered patio. As sports bars go, this comes to the top of my list. There too many TV screens to count. The staff is friendly and understand the patrons are there for some fun or just to unwind. Come here for the drinks and to watch your favorite sports because the menu is limited to bar food. Expect to order an handheld item. I didn't see anything requiring a knife and fork. I came here for UT's first playoff game against Arizona State (ugly game but hook em). This place brought such great vibes. It's been a long time coming for Sugar Land to gain its own outdoorsy sports bar where a large crowd can gather to watch big sporting events together. Woodrows extends into part of that First Colony turf lawn, and my friends and I were able to snap a front row seat under the nice pavilion. The area, service, and atmosphere all made for an amazing game day experience in my home city. Food was also pretty good! As good as bar food can get. Our table got a mix of loaded fries, philly cheesesteak, fried pickles, and chips and dip- can't go wrong with any! They also have a lot of good happy hour and daily deals. I thought I'd love this place, it has a bunch of TVs and it has a huge semi covered patio and fun space for the kids. But they have pretty bad staff. So we came here recently on a Friday night and they have bouncers, whoa we are not in midtown but I get it. But they also only have them at the front entrance and the back entrance doesn't have anyone guarding it. So they have a no kids after 7 pm policy here. I get their reasoning but at the same time it is the suburbs and they have the space designed for kids to be there with adults. Just a lot of mixed signals. But what makes it bad is the staff, they just don't care. We were there for 30 mins only got one appetizer never got the first drink and never came around to take orders for anyone else. We won't be coming back there are just so many better sports bars in the area. read more

Came here with a friend on a weekday. There's seating outside on the patio, on the lawn, and inside the restaurant as well. When we came in, nobody greeted us so we weren't sure if we needed to sit ourselves or wait for hostess so we stood at the entrance dumbfounded. There were bartenders behind the counter and servers/waitresses walking about bur paid no mind to us. After 5-10 minutes of waiting we decided to seat ourselves and were eventually greeted 10 minutes later. Mind you there were only 2-3 tables inside. We placed our orders and waited about 30 minutes until the food came it. It was okay, kind of bland. The huge TVs inside were a great touch to watch the Astros game. After we got our food, we didn't get checked on for a while. It was 40 minutes of us waiting for our waitress to ask for the check. By this point, we had been there 1 1/2 hrs and we were done. The ambiance was so fun here. The sports bar aesthetic and vibe is 10/10 if that's what you're looking for, and this location has a really nice outdoor seating area. The music is also super hyped up as it should be for a sports bar. All the tables are high tops, so my friends and I brought some card games to play while we had drinks. I liked their faux loma mock tail. It pretty much tasted like a mojito, so can't go wrong there. I came to this Restaurant/Bar late one Sunday night after a long day of work and I left quite disappointed. I was starving and waited maybe 25 minutes for a sandwich which I understand this place is a bar but still too long. However, the hot chicken sandwich I ordered was surprisingly (for a Bar) pretty good. But that aside one thing ticked me off. I ordered one beer and they asked me to start a tab. I told my bartender I did not want to start a tab I was only going to have one beer and a food entree; I said I would pay in cash. The bartender then asserted I must create a tab despite only ordering one drink so I gave my card and then it was returned (also charged 1$ to create tab, no big deal (..for now..)). I found that strange. Anyways, when I asked for my check/tab I received a tab that said 19$ (cool no big deal); I assuming I could pay cash or card put cash on the tab and walked out. Next morning I look at my account and I was charged $19 on my card. This made me upset, considering I was charged for my meal on card despite not being told so...after I had told my bartender I would be paying in cash. I wanted this place to be great, but I don't think I will be returning here again. I hope she enjoyed the 25$ (in cash) that I was robbed. Also judging by these reviews I am seeing that many other customers have experienced the same thing regarding scams. Went on a Sunday afternoon, the place was busy but not packed. Ordered 2 drinks which came in a timely manner, but after that our waitress dissapeared. At this point was just wanted to move on, but couldn't close our tab. We asked other waitresses who said they would let our waitress know because apparently we could only close out with her. She never came back and we eventually walked out assuming they would add 18-20% tip which I had no problem with. Seeing my credit card statement they clearly gave themselves a much bigger tip than 20%. If I ever go back here, I will not leave a tab open again. read more

We sat for at least 10 minutes (while 3 servers stood about 15 feet away from us on twiddling their thumbs) until our server finally came around. She hands me a lemon drop martini but no sugar rim, then hands my fiancé his old fashion but it's in a regular glass with no fat ice? Just a bunch of regular ice cubes? Anyways that watered down his drink fast. So we order food, I get the burger and he gets the steak sandwich. As we are waiting for our second round of drinks we order food and he again gets his old fashion in a regular glass with regular ice cubes. My martini finally came with a sugar rim because I asked but no lemon twist like the first time. Finally our food comes out, why did it take so long if my bun was gonna be cold and my fries burnt? We have been to the LW Sugar Land location multiple times and we love it here! Love the vibe and the space! Love the indoor outdoor concept! We usually sit outdoors, but it was raining yesterday so we had to sit indoors and we had just as good of a time! Our server KC was awesome and very attentive. Checked on us before our drinks were empty, so that was a huge plus!! There were 11 of us and we showed up late afternoon and Justin made sure we were taken care of as far as the crawfish, which BTW was PHENOMENAL!!! Was there on Tuesday went to pay my bar tab, Cat put another group on my tab as they must have walked. I tried to get her as she she dodged me. I paid it anyway as I am there all the time. Went on Thursday and talked to Justin about it as he pulled it up on his and reviewed it, he saw the discrepancy and gave me an 80.00 credit. We'll went back on Friday was there for a couple hours and talked to Justin and Anthony when I walked in had some drinks as cat was working and went to pay my bill as I had them split the food off from the drink bill so I can pay that and apply my drinks to the credit. Let me tell you I have never yelled at and screamed at, she went off on me in front of a bar full of people. Totally unethical. Telling me that that was my tab and I had no credit for the Tuesday incident. Why did no one come to me as I walked in to discuss this issue instead make a scene. I ended up paying my tab in full. Poor management Chad and Sam you double ashamed to have employees like that. I always pay my bill and leave excellent tip. Totally handle the wrong way.. I am a business owner and if I had staff like that they would have been terminated immediately. Again poor management, I guess that is why you go through staff and bar tenders like a revolving door.
