this restaurant is located in a small plaza tucked inside one of the entrances of Greatwood community. We came for dinner on a friday night at 5pm. The service was great, they constantly brought us chips and salsa and refilled our water! There was about 5 other families that were dining in when we walked in ~ looks like the margs were popular. We ordered the Parrillada for 2 - beef, chicken, & 6 bacon wrapped shrimp. Giving this 3/5 because the rice was cold and the meats did not have much seasoning. The charro beans were also cold, but the flavor was good - Probably the best part of the meal. Portion wise, they gave a good amount for the price. Maybe would come back again and try something else. Food was Luke warm and beans tasted like they had come from a can. My husband could not eat his dish as it was not what he expected for Cochinita pibil to taste so citrusy as theirs did. The service from the back water was very nice and attentive. The actual waiter lacked in speed and care. Ambiance is just okay. The music was blaring and only three tables in the place so that was annoying. No manager in sight to ask for them to turn it down. We enjoyed our steak and shrimp fajitas. We took it home and noticed we didn't get any chips for our salsa but luckily we had some in the pantry. We loved the green salsa. Yum!! The steak was tender and the shrimp were cooked well. Not sure what the red seasoning was on the shrimp but it was tasty. Not sure if grated cheese is typically not offered with their fajitas but there wasn't any shredded cheese. No worries because we had some at home as well. We will be back to try some other things. Just had dinner there Sunday, it's a small restaurant run by the family, Aurelio, the sons owner was going thru all the tables asking about the service and food. Service was good, food was brought on a timely manner, no complaints. I had Cochinita Pibil it was excellent delicious and my husband had the Chicharrónes tacos, they told him they were very hot, but he said he can take it, well he was asking for water(Margaritas) , by the way the best Margaritas we have had in a long time. We couldn't leave with out having the home make Flan.OMG I make a mean Flan but this one was amazing. Next time I will start with the Flan. If I had a top 3 neighborhood restaurant, Cristobal would be the clear winner at the top spot standing proudly above the rest. The Birria is on point, that Ribeye is to die for, they make killer drinks, and their people are warm and welcoming! I've never had a bad experience there, which is more than I can say for most places around here. I've watched the behaviors of these places during the worst economy of my lifetime. While most restaurants started being chintzy and cutting portions, I noticed the portions at Cristobal got larger! Have you ever heard the adage, "Actions speak louder than words?" Instead of giving your money to Chipotle for a burrito full of rice and beans, give back to your community and go give it to these people! You won't regret it. read more

Their menu is HUGE. The only knocks I'll give them is that our server took forever to take our order and the electricity went out. Drinks (mainly margaritas) were average; some above average, like theirj special top margarita. Now for the desserts. Sorry, Orlando and Orelio, the sopapillas were flat (literally) and below average. Flan consistency and taste was great and Tres Leches could be softer, but still good. I really didn't mean to offend; it's just that we all have different tastes. Restaurant was clean, as well as restrooms. I've been here a few times, and definitely recommend it if you're in the area. This place has been open for about 4 months according to our server, Ricardo. Word of mouth is a good source for discovering new places and this is what brought my wife and I to this neighborhood restaurant this afternoon! What made this even more fun is the fact that it is practically in our backyard, as we live in the neighborhood! This place used to be Carlos Tacos I believe and unfortunately it did not last very long. But interestingly enough, the food must be really good here and the prices good because, the buzz is what drew us in! Well they do have pretty good lunch specials priced under $10. I ordered the beef enchiladas and my wife ordered the tamales. While we waited, we were served a scrumptious basket of chips and salsa! I especially liked the green salsa! Quite a unique taste in it's own way! The enchiladas were very good by the way! Served piping hot, the portion size was very generous! Actually so generous 2 could actually split it! The same was true of my wife's. Needless to say we were both rolling out of there. Ricardo was the consummate server. Constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks; the whole experience was 5 stars! Man I'm so happy they have a decent Tex Mex place here in the neighborhood..Now we don't have to drive to Rosenberg or Lupitas in Sugar Land as often when we crave Mexican food! Go check it out! What a hidden gem, so glad I found this spot. The food was delicious, vegetarian friendly. Chips and Salsa was also good. The chips were warm. We were down in Richmond today and looked for a restaurant before returning home. I saw the Cristobal reviews and decided to take us there. OH YUM! Everyone at the table said that their food was just excellent. Beef fajitas, a Tex-Mex combo plate, and mine, ahem, the al pastor pork tacos with grilled onions and spicy pineapple. Oh my stars! We didn't have anything from the bar, but my Arnold Palmer is one of the best I have ever had. The tea was super fresh and the lemonade appeared to be homemade.
