I finally came back. We stopped by during the Astros playoff run last year but didn't stay. We made good on our word and came back. We got the crawfish, chicken nuggets basket, and supreme nachos. The food was pretty good. Out of the three items, I liked the crawfish the best. The crawfish was savory. Good blend of cajun spice, butter, and garlic. Our waitress was new, so she was still getting familiar with the setup, but she was friendly. This place is a neighborhood bar atmosphere. Don't expect this too fancy. This review is very bittersweet, but I don't like feeling scammed. My husband and I came here to try their recent crawfish special for $25. The crawfish was actually really good (Asian Cajun) and the drink prices were very reasonable ($5 for don julio). It was a dive bar with mostly regulars and the bartender tried to make our first time comfortable there by introducing us to the owners. But when the bill came, we kept wondering why it was higher than what we calculated. We only ordered $45 worth but our bill came out to be around $58. The female bartender there gave us a non-itemized receipt so I kept trying to ask if the specials or prices were honored as told and she gave me short "yes" answers with no further explanations. Finally, I asked for the itemized receipt and only then did she explain to me that they "just started automatically adding gratuity to crawfish orders due to customers over ordering and over working the staff" and how she had "forgot" to tell me since it's a new policy. I felt it was dishonest and shady, so it really ruined the experience for me. Also, it's a very run down bar. The counters and cash register we sat in front of was caked with dust. Furniture is dated. It's a shame, the food is good and owners seem nice, but I don't think I'll be coming back because they lost my trust. read more

We stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and they were setting up for the evening music event. For some reason (this place is in no way Vietnamese), I ordered the Vietnamese sandwich. It was actually very good, but maybe not quite to the standards of a Vietnamese sandwich shop. My son ordered the Philly Cheese Steak, which was huge, and packed with peppers and onions. We stopped in for some drinks and hopping to get a bit to eat. No one was there, except for us and three employees. The place looks much nicer than the old location. The menu seemed confused and didn't find anything that we would like to eat. After couple of beers, one lady started to mop the floor by us and she had very strong smelling cleaner in her water. I'd probably give this place more stars if it wasn't for the BS experience outside of the establishment. I Parked, got out my car, some *ahem* "brotha" in a white shirt approached me asking for some change (I should have known better.) took out 5 ones from my pocket, he snatched it and ran to the motel right behind the convenience store. Outstanding Burger, one of the Best I have ever eaten. If your in The Houston area, it is well worth the drive. The fries appear to have a creole seasoning which make them very tasty. Drove past this place a dozen times before, and today I finally decided to go in and check it out since I felt like a burger. I should have tried this place a long time ago! The burger was freakin huge! Two very thick patties on toasted buns with all the usual fixin's, and it was probably one of the best tasting burgers I've ever had. The price was very reasonable too for the amount of food you get. Since I hadn't eaten here before, I thought I'd also try some wings too just to see how they are. The bartender warned me that the burger is pretty big, but I ordered the wings anyways. She was right, I couldn't finish the wings :-/ The couple of wings I did eat were really good though. I tried the mild and the hot flavors (there's 3 or 4 more) and mild was good, but I really liked hot because the sauce didn't have too much of an overpowering vinegar smell/taste like a lot of other hot wings do. The staff was very courteous as well. The owner (or the owner's wife, I forgot already) came over to introduce herself. She told us about all the daily specials the place has like 3-7pm (I think) happy hour every weekday, Sunday pool tournaments, plus a bunch of other specials that I don't remember as I'm still in a bit of a food coma from that enormous burger. Since it was around 4pm (happy hour!) when I came in, my Bud Light draft was only a dollar each! I've never heard of a happy hour with prices that low. This bar really needs to be cleaned inside and updated. Feels old and dirty. They try to fix up deck but it's still needs work. Who wants to pay 8 bucks for the high end liquor and receive the cheap stuff. I ordered grey gouse and that clearly was not grey gouse. Regains a star after the owner apologized for the poor service and offered a complimentary drink. While I decided to forego the free drink (I don't care much for special treatment), I came back and was well pleased with the service. I've been over twice in the afternoon, and I really like how different it feels. Quieter and much calmer with more of my style of music. The extra star comes from the more overall friendliness of the opening staff, and of course the delicious food. I've only been to the bar a few times and have generally enjoyed myself. I love the fact that there is no smoking allowed. The bartenders are friendly and pretty efficient but they do get a bit stressed out if it's a busy night. The DJ on the nights that I've been there plays about 15-20 minutes of dance music (which I love) followed by what feels like 3 hours of Tejano music (which I hate). As far as the food is concerned, it's average at best. I will definitely say that the cheeseburger was large but pretty much off-putting. Somehow they managed to make the french fries flavorless despite using seasoning. All in all, I find the place to be decent and there are usually some friendly people there.
