Cute vintage diner, small. We had a group of 6 for lunch, and seating was tight. I had french onion soup, which was really flavorful. The other one had seafood chowder, which he said was very good. Two other got sandwiches; and the remainders both got liver and onions (dear god, why?) No complaints about any of the food.

Stopped here between errands; old time dinner with very good food, at least my ham, cheese and spinach omelette was very good. People congregated outside while rain was falling so they must be attracted to the food. I plan to hit this again next time for brunch.

So, if you're on YELP, looking for a place to dine, look no further! Nostalgia personified = Cozy, eclectic, comfortable environment - This diner is served up some of the best *comfort food we've had. Our server Lynn, was delightful = efficient, personable and kind. As were the other employees. This is a "cash only" establishment - they do have an ATM onsite. *Prices are super reasonable. There is so much personality in this little diner - that you can't help but feel happy here. ENJOY

Ambiance is a word I don't use a lot to describe a place, but this place has it. It's a classic style diner with a rail car front and the glorious noise of a busy kitchen. The staff here is very nice I mean it's what you would hope for in a small town like this. I ordered the "homemade corned beef hash" with eggs. It did not disappoint it was actually homemade and there is a reason everyone around me was ordering it. Truly was one of the best I have ever had. If you are traveling through like we were this place is a must stop.

Not my first time here and it won't be my last. Littleton Diner is a quaint diner in the middle of downtown Littleton. Our server today was a bit harried-the place was packed-but he was quick and attentive. My breakfast was delicious! The peppers, onions and mushrooms were grilled perfectly, with a slight crisp to them. The home fries were more like hash browns but were delicious. The rye toast was served with butter and it melted perfectly.

Today was the worst this place has ever been. Everyone was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The food order was messed up with them adding cheese to a mushroom burger without cheese. The chicken filet sandwich was grilled and so overcooked tough to eat that I left most of the chicken on the plate. Ate the lettuce and tomato and the fries. Even the fries were over done. They have always had great fries. Went restroom and there was no hot water to wash your hands. That has to be a health code violation. We wanted to go to a different restaurant but it was closed due to no cool ‍ We will definitely not be coming back. We arrived at 1120 and didn't leave until 1250

It was a little confusing upon entering the restaurant as to where we should go (there isn't a host stand or much of an entry way), but we were promptly greeted by both the manager (?) and a server. We did have to wait a few minutes for a table as they were busy and needed to take a moment to set the table, but they explained everything involving the wait. We were sat in the lower room, near the wood stove (!!!!) and just happened to be the only people in that room. The white Christmas lights were still up and gave a really nice comfy vibe to an already cute, cozy little place. The music playing consisted of Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, etc... it was fantastic. Our server (who I'm guessing is one of the proprietors of the Inn) was a VERY friendly, sweet older woman who was just the right amount of chatty. She gave a great description of the nightly specials and explained that the chef prepared everything from scratch daily. The menu is fairly small, but it covers the major bases (steak, chicken, pasta, fish, soup, salad, apps) and the wine list had a pretty good selection. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms - 2 large portobella caps with house made maple-sausage stuffing, cheddar and breadcrumbs. They were delicious! The seasonings in the stuffing and the fresh peppers and onions gave it a really nice flavor. My boyfriend has the soup du jour - corn chowder. This was not an ordinary corn chowder... it was loaded with mirepoix and potatoes, more like a stew than a chowder as it was a lot of the good-bits and less of the "broth." He LOVED it. He's still talking about it 4 days later. For dinner, I had the stuffed haddock with rice pilaf and broccoli. The broccoli was perfectly steamed - bright green with a little crunch left. The rice was fluffy, tender, well-seasoned. The haddock was not served drowned in butter in a casserole, but wrapped around the stuffing with fresh lemons and a light butter over the top. It was so yummy. The boyfriend had the special half-duck roasted with a cranberry-orange glaze. It was not greasy at all, very tender and juicy and cooked perfectly. All the dishes were served with an edible orchid garnish (beautiful and tasty), a slice of kiwi, and a smile. The bread that we got to start was also wonderful - hot rolls with the right crunch on the outside and softness inside. Our server wasn't the fastest, but she was so friendly and she kept our waters filled (which is a task - we drink a lot of water) constantly and was prompt about dropping the check. Now, I work upscale dining and have for years. We are both picky about food, and I'm a stickler for service. As I said, she wasn't the fastest, but we were on vacation and in no rush. Like I also said, she was SO nice and friendly that it trumped the 2 minutes it took to come greet us. I'm sure because it was holiday weekend, they were busy. The upper dining room was full and it didn't seem like they have support staff to bus tables. I felt right at home in this place and the chef was so happy to hear how much we loved our food. We also didn't have to ask for anything (silverware, more water) because she immediately brought whatever was needed without our prompting. I love when servers notice those things. We will go back if we're ever in Littleton again. We had apps, entrees, and wine and spent $81... not too shabby if you consider the freshness, the perfect preparation, the little touches with the garnishes, and the cozy, intimate atmosphere. I just wish we'd had room for dessert!

Parking is difficult although maybe there is more parking that I did not see since it was a rainy night. I will update this section when I go back. Service was slow This was just our server. She was busy leaning and doing other chores that we waited a long time to order our food it took her so long to get back to us when it was time for desert that we did not bother The other server on the other hand was very efficient and took fantastic care of his clients. They have a special that is 2 dinners and a bottle of wine for $40.00. The items that you can choose from are marked on the menu. It was a good selection. This special is from 4 to 6 pm you may want to make a reservation as they fill up fast We had Lobster an decided to upgrade to the lazy man Lobster. The Lobster was cooked to perfection. It was a good size portion I would guess between 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb solid meat. We did not see a wine we wanted from the list but they gave us a choice of either another beverage, salad or desert. My friend chose the salad which was a rather large salad. It was one of the best salads I have seen served. Try thief home made dressing. I opted for the desert which we took with us. I had the Turtle cheesecake. It was not too sweet. A nice size portion and worth going back for more. Even though our service was slow I highly recommend going here. The food is well worth the price. They offer items from $11.95 to $30.00 The owner was quite charming and you can tell that he cares about his clients. The guests that stayed at the Beal House Inn were very happy with their accommodations. We will be back Food. 5 star Service. 3 star. See notes above Atmosphere. 5 stars.

Cold Mountain Cafe is a perfect stop to turn a long drive into a nice date!…read more We definitely recommend this place, it's a solid 4 that comes off like a 5! We've passed through Bethlehem, NH a few of times as we've traveled between Maine and New Hampshire. A couple weeks ago I noticed a glowing little eatery as we hurried west on Route 2 en route to UMass Amherst. I didn't catch the name of the restaurant I'd noticed, but our return l timing worked to stop for dinner in Bethlehem, so as we headed back, Cary scoured Google and Yelp ...and based upon the menus and ambiance, we settled on Cold Mountain Cafe. Turns out this was the spot. Inside was just as welcoming as I'd anticipated. Nothing against small New England towns, ...but IMO you can't EXPECT a well-rounded professional restaurant package when you're in "two-hours-from-anywhere, New Hampshire". And IMHO, sometimes these fresh-movement country places are presented like funky hippy brightly lit hardscaped cafe's with busy chalkboard menus that look like 60's concert posters. Not Cold Mountain Cafe -the music, lighting and decor was perfectly contemporary ...relaxing ...inviting comfortable conversation. The menu and pricing were well thought out, offering an assortment of cultural fare with asian, french, American, East Indian entrees that ranged from smash-burger, pot pie comfort food, to bistro steak and seared scallops. Unexpected additions like bean cake and Indian lamb stew entrees offered a pleasant, funky twist. Entrees ranged from $19 to $38. The two drinks we tried were really great! I had the Brooklyn and Cary had the Espresso Lovers Martini. I think Cary put it perfectly when she said that the Brooklyn was like desert! The espresso martini was notable because it was made with rum, instead of vodka and it used fresh espresso, giving it a luscious Tia Maria feel. Both drinks had a wonderful silky smooth mouth feel. The waitstaff was not uniformed, but in semi-formal server attire with all black garments and waist aprons. The service was friendly, professional and attentive... our waitress brought us some warm crispy tender dinner rolls with garlicky seasoned oil dipping sauce, took our orders at our pace and checked in on us throughout the meal. The mushroom polenta app was great... smooth, creamy and fresh with balanced earthy woodsy and smoky notes. The pea soup was a bit brighter and fresher than I'm used to (growing up in Boston, my mom made the best pea soup ...a more hearty version with pork meat always made in the days following a smoked shoulder meal), but in the New England small town country, farm-fresh motif, we liked the bright, fresh pea flavors... Cary was concerned about what she would order because she was put off by the steak entree's smoked Gouda sauce. So she had the lamb stew, which was a compromise. Me? I'd spent the previous couple of days at a hotel hanging around UMass, which means a lot more carbs than I want... smash burgers, burritos, eggs Bennies... oof! So I definitely was feeling like something light... and decided to be crazy and try the bean cake. Cary's stew was nice. It didn't hit you over the head, but it had balanced signature Indian flavors, and was nicely presented. We're not volume-conscious but both thought it could have had a couple more pieces of lamb. I enjoyed my bean cake -although I don't really have anything to compare it to. The waitress said it was hearty, so I rolled the dice. I'd probably try it again... it flavorful and satisfying. The chèvre and ginger dressing supplied a good level of moisture and flavor notes to the breaded spiced bean and rice patty. I'd add that the plating on a bed of fresh spinach presented a little bit of a challenge as I had to pierce a few baby fresh spinach leafs at a time, then add the bean cake... but it was manageable... The menu changes seasonally, so we're looking forward to checking in on our next pan New England journey.

Went for lunch a few months ago had an incredible experience with our server and food. Reached out to them about catering for a party more than 6 months away. Additionally I brought back my whole family a few weeks later for dinner. 100% completely different experiences. Food was terrible, server was horrendous, they placed us next to a loud Bluetooth speaker that was for the whole restaurant. I had to switch chairs with my partner because I literally couldn't bear how loud it was I couldn't focus. Fast forward to today. Wrapping up the catering menu for the event coming up and ordered a small take out order for myself while passing through from a hike in Franconia. I've ordered the same thing the 3x I've been there. They called me and told me it's not likely I would be able to get it celiac friendly( when every other time I ordered it, they welcomed it with no hesitation), we spoke briefly and the agreed they likely could. They told me it would be ready soon. I got there 10 minutes later and stood at the check in/host stand for 5 minutes. I was looking down the hall where you could hear all the wait staff in their waitstaff room. I waited to catch someone's eye so I could pick up my order. I almost walked down the hall but decided to be patient. As I was about to walk down or call out because it had been so long of standing and waiting I am greeted by a cloud of vape smoke. A few seconds later a server walked out and caught my eye and looked like they had seen a ghost catching them in the act. I told him I was picking up for myself and he said he would be back with it. Another female server followed them out and I asked hey was the vape smoke and she laughed and said it was. I said huh that's pretty bad, she said nothing. I got my food, asked the first servers name. Left. I emailed the person coordinating the catering and he said that he has been getting on the staff about vaping in public spaces and they claimed it was someone vaping outside across the waitstaff room where the door was open. 100% not the case as I literally watched the smoke exit the room they were all in and the servers walking through it after they knew I was there waving it out the outside door. Do not bring your kids here. What really bothered me was the wait staff lying about it to their boss. On top of that. The steak in the Honolulu bowl tasted absolutely disgusting, like it was old/outdated. This is so unfortunate because it use to be amazing, the staff was incredible and food consistent. You will find 100x more consistency at the Little Grille right down the road.
