The portions were generous, which we appreciated, but the fish and chips were quite oily, with oil noticeably dripping from the fried coating. I wanted to try the Lincoln Diner for breakfast today, but upon seeing the tremendous lineup and wait for a table, Boyfriend was like, nope. So off to the Littleton Diner we went instead! (Our local pal Gregory confirmed that brand-new Lincoln Diner is *very good* and extremely popular, so hopefully I get to try it eventually!) Things turned out for the best however - no wait here, our favorite booth available and I got some blueberry coffee and a delicious 5-cheese omelette - I think it was my first time trying an omelette here, and it was *great*! Been going here for 15 years. So sad, used to be 5 star every time I went. Its going downhill. Walk in and everyone seems busy on phones, no real "service" anymore. They all seem really cranky like they hate being there. Sat there waiting for someone to come by and help me. Food was still pretty good except for dessert. Came from NY and in the area for work wife decided she had to try the turkey dinner and I wanted an omelet so we planned to come here 2 days! Staff is INCREDIBLY rude. How can you expect people from out of town to just know your menu when placing a to go order? If certain things don't come in dishes anymore maybe update the menu posted on your website, don't expect customers to just know your menu and be respectful when you talk to them. You don't make the feel smaller then you and an inconvenience! Bad attitude doesn't want people to ever come back. Finally got all our food and in the omelette I ordered no olives in were definitely a load of black olives. Turkey was bland, dry, pretty sure was sitting in a hot pan for days just drying out. The turkey, stuffing, mashed, gravy all tasted the exact same BLAND AND NO FLAVOR. Even if the food was food I'd never come back because of the rude staff. Cute vintage diner, small. We had a group of 6 for lunch, and seating was tight. I had french onion soup, which was really flavorful. The other one had seafood chowder, which he said was very good. Took a little to have the waitress warm up, but we got there. Sitting at the counter ordered in an old fashion parlor type car located in a very sweet town of Littleton NH we enjoyed our breakfast. Today we decided to do the Yankee a standard breakfast with eggs, home fries, baked beans (a little watery but tasty) and rye toast. Coffee definitely needed cream and sugar, but all was satisfactory if not noteworthy. On the down side, the place could use a head-to-toe cleaning, including the bathrooms but diners can be like that. Ambiance is a word I don't use a lot to describe a place, but this place has it. It's a classic style diner with a rail car front and the glorious noise of a busy kitchen. The staff here is very nice I mean it's what you would hope for in a small town like this. I ordered the "homemade corned beef hash" with eggs. It did not disappoint it was actually homemade and there is a reason everyone around me was ordering it. Truly was one of the best I have ever had. Not my first time here and it won't be my last. Littleton Diner is a quaint diner in the middle of downtown Littleton. Our server today was a bit harried-the place was packed-but he was quick and attentive. My breakfast was delicious! The peppers, onions and mushrooms were grilled perfectly, with a slight crisp to them. The home fries were more like hash browns but were delicious. The food order was messed up with them adding cheese to a mushroom burger without cheese. Worst most unpleasant waitress ever, she cleary doesn't like her job. The young man that greeted us was very nice and told us to sit at any empty booth so we did and the waitress made us move because the table was not set and she was not going to set it. I ordered the specialty cranberry melt. Think of a party or tuna melt but made of thanksgiving food. The meal was amazing. I could get curly fries as a side. The cookies were amazing and amazingly large. I could even get ginger ale for a drink. The staff were friendly as could be and apologetic for the wait even though I was the jerk for showing up 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday night. I was visiting Littleton with my sister-in-law this past weekend. We stopped by the Littleton Diner for breakfast on Saturday morning. It was busy, with a steady flow of customer traffic. The service is what caught us off-guard. We were seated in an end booth and waited for a server to stop by. No one came to our table. They stopped at other tables that were seated after us. I went to the counter and asked for a server. When the server did come by, she took our orders. She brought us two waters (both were supposed to be bottled; neither were) and coffee. She then brought my SIL's partial order and proceeded to ask me if I wanted to order food (ummmm...). We informed her that I had ordered and she was missing half of my SIL's order. By the time my food arrived, my SIL was done with her partial meal. The other half arrived with mine. And mine was not correct. But I ate it. Unfortunately, neither meal was much to write home about. We finished and asked for the check. The check came and it was incorrect. I handed the server the check to fix, and the cash to pay for the corrected check. I didn't want to wait much longer as we spent a LOT of time waiting that morning. She never came back with the check. So I went to the counter and asked for her to provide the updated check and my change. She looked at me like I had ten heads. She rang in our meal again, then asked me for the payment. I told her I had already provided her the payment. Total disconnect. Needless to say, she gave us our change and we were on our way. We got a good laugh thinking out how bizarre the experience was. I am still baffled by the service we received and disappointed in the amount of time we spent there with this server who clearly did not have her head in the game. The menu is pretty large and flexible so you can order pretty much any breakfast combination you want and everything I have tried is top notch - great flavor cooked perfectly. The diner is right on Main Street with parking behind building as well as on street parking. We have eaten there 3 times and each the food and service was excellent. One evening we had 13 women with Missy as our server and she did not skip a beat. All of the orders came out correct, and hot and that's not an easy task. Drinks were refilled quickly with Coke products which is getting to be a rare find in New Hampshire. We had various meals with pot roast, senior fish, taco salad, clam chowder, and multiple desserts.
