Although there are a few things that could use some TLC, overall the cottage was great. Comfortable bed, great jacuzzi tub, sauna, and fire box. The restaurant at the inn is exceptional. Unique menu items and everything cooked to perfection. We loved it so much we ate there all 3 nights of our stay. The inn has a library and enjoyed playing chess there by the fireplace one evening. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend staying here.

Not so at the Rosebrook Lodge. Sitting atop the Bretton Woods ski resort, Rosebrook Lodge is a new, brightly lit with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, spacious with a great staff and great food. I was there on a vacation week, on a near blue-bird day, and had no trouble getting a seat at the bar. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich was SPECTACULAR. It was a buttered, grilled, fresh baguette with perfectly gooey cheddar and American cheese. The tomato soup dip was delicious and not from a can (it certainly was not the one made famous by Andy Warhol). This was an elevated grilled cheese sandwich to which all others would be compared. I want to give the Chef a big thumbs up. Rosewood also has a good selection of craft beer on tap and in bottles. It was a great lunch. Also, big props to Robert at the bar, who expertly handled the growing thirsty ski crowd. Robert was efficient, friendly, fun, and funny. I am looking forward to seeing him again for another grilled Cheese sandwich.

In the morning we bring a carafe of Peet's coffee up to our sunrise room overlooking the presidential mountains before sitting down to a four course breakfast. Fresh fruit cup, a yogurt parfait with berries, a waffle ( a pitcher of warm maple syrup ), finishes with eggs Benedict. The veranda provides plenty of comfortable seating for reading and reflection--or enjoying a beverage. The Victorian is truly a restorative place that encourages relaxation and conversation--with little effort you can plan your day's activities of hiking, cycling, or site seeing.

Upon checking in, we found there was no way to lock our door (inn keeper said, "it's Vermont, we don't lock our doors.") The smoke/fire detector in our room was beeping every 15-20 seconds. The top bed linens and pillows were dingy and dirty. A bath robe that hung from the door looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for a long, long time. My wife and I spent no more than 5-10 minutes in the room following our "discoveries." We did not feel safe or secure at this inn, and so, we immediately booked accommodations at a nearby hotel for a 3 night stay. The hotel reservations were considerably more expensive, but, my wife and I felt neither safe nor secure at McIndoe Falls Inn. And, on the backside of a multi-year pandemic, we had concerns with the lack of cleanliness. The inn is in dire need of a refresh. Finally, and inexplicably, they also charged our card for the remaining balance of the entire, 3 night stay. I sent them an email at 4:44pm, just a few minutes after we left to inform them we would not return. I don't have a problem with the initial deposit for the first night. I greatly resent being charged full rate for a 3 night stay, while we were only there for 10 minutes. Based upon innkeepers previous comment, we were their only guests, so it's not like others were beating down the doors to get in. I will be disputing the balance charges with my credit card company. In case I haven't been clear enough, I do not recommend McIndoe Falls Inn, at all. The pictures and descriptions on their website is a gross misrepresentation.

The owners cook an amazing breakfast, that is quite a delight. Fresh baked cookies are available every afternoon and I ate my weight in them. The outdoor hot tub was a huge perk for us as was the billiards table and scrabble game. Every night they stoke a roaring fire in the wood stove. Perfect for when you come in from being outside. They offer free snow shoe gear to borrow, so naturally we took advantage and hiked outside on the trails. This place is 25 min from Muddy paws dog kennel to go sledding. Do it! It's amazing. While nearby restaurants are limited, what is around, is good. We loved this place. We will return.

The views of the pond and mountains were breathtaking and the staff working on the property as well as there bed and breakfast were incredible. They helped us with all of our needs and made sure to make this event even more special. In the end we had a blast here! The views were gorgeous, the grounds were phenomenal and the staff here was great. We look forward to coming here in the future to travel their hiking trails as well as marvel at their views again. On little piece of advice, this place has no cell service, so be prepared to enjoy their incredible views with limited technological interruptions.

We especially liked the wood-fired pizza, and the lemon brownies were great too. They also were very accommodating to our 8-year old daughter's picky tastes. I also liked how the salad veggies were picked from the garden in the back of the lodge. 2. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. I have to give a shout out to all the ones we met: Tiffany and Chris (innkeepers), Kate and Nan (working mornings and breakfast), and Adam (dinner shift). They were all so kind and thoughtful, and they really made us feel at home. 3. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful, and the pond was really quite a sight to behold. We enjoyed getting out on the rowboat, and the trails around the Lodge were awesome for nature watching. The remoteness of the Lodge was unique to us, since we're from overcrowed Florida. 4. The proximity to other state parks in Groton State Forest was nice, and we especially enjoyed swimming at Boulder Beach. The town of Groton was charming too, and the ice cream and mead tasting at Arteseno was well worth a stop. 5. Our room was very cozy and comfortable, and it was nice to sleep with the windows open in the summer (did I mention we live in Florida?). We also really enjoyed the common area, and were able to keep in touch with outside world with their free wi-fi, which worked very well. The board games and books in the common room kept our daughter busy too. 5. Finally, the other guests we met at the Lodge were very nice, and we felt enriched by meeting them. Mike, Jackie, Josie, and Langston were very charming, and it was nice too to meet Florian, visiting all the way from Germany. The only weird thing about Seyon is why it was relatively empty the week we were there, but I guess it's still way off the beaten path and still being discovered. But you really should check it out and enjoy it like we did. I hope to go back again soon.

Any reasonable request on your part will be honored, if humanly possible. Just to be sure you'll be happy, ask to see your room before you decide to stay. If you are satisfied with what you see, I'm almost POSITIVE you won't be sorry you decided to stay!!!

This is a great mountain with hacks trying to run a ski area on it. They barely hide their…read moreincompetence when confronted with the truth. On March 11, 2026 when I write this review they had one lift and barely two runs open from the midstation. The slopes that were half open were half covered with snow. This is when all of their competitors had ample snow and had almost all their slopes open (not glades but that's always hit or miss). When we asked for a refund the manager smirked and made comments about their policies and basically blamed us for not reading the report from the day before. So when Cannon gives you dangerous conditions and one twentieth of the area open they say too bad and that's our policy lump it. Incredible. The state of NH that runs this mountain is running it like the Motor Vehicle Registry. This was the second time I was there and absolutely the last. Such a shame. They couldn't even acquire Mittersill correctly. Cannon is the worst ski experience I have had in my life and the people who run it make it even worse and that's difficult to do but they aced it! If I was the NH governor I would fire everyone who was working at Cannon today based on total incompetence.
