There are several pools on-site, including a swim-up bar, and they often have live music in the evenings, which added to the atmosphere. The only downside was the on-site restaurant--the food was mediocre, so we preferred cooking in the room or going out to eat. There is a BBQ area available for guests, which was a nice option. I would definitely come back, though I'm not a fan of being approached by timeshare representatives.

Apparently people who live on the east coast of the US found the weather to be like their own, but as a Californian, all I wanted to do was stay inside ALL day. Having a kitchen was a big plus so we could prepare an easy and fast breakfast of oatmeal in the morning before fishing. Moreover, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking pots/pans, plates/bowls, glasses, mugs, flatware, glass storage containers with lids, a full-size fridge, a stovetop/oven, microwave, coffee maker with filters, a dishwasher and an electric tea kettle. One of the BIG things missing from the kitchen were places to charge devices. Hidden in a cramped corner of the kitchen counter was only one outlet. Moreover, you'd have to have a long cord to reach your device. If I knew then what I know now, I would have spent my days cooking inside the kitchen and dining in our suite with its powerful A/C rather than driving into town for every meal and enduring the heat, humidity and flies. In addition to a kitchen, there was an in-room washer and dryer with laundry pods located above the fridge. Because there was construction, the power must have been turned off because the washing machine stopped mid-cycle. As for the two bedrooms, they were spacious and the beds were comfortable as was the pull-out couch. Every room had a fan and TV. Only the primary room had a safe. While the secondary toilet worked, you did have wait between flushes or else the toilet would not flush. As for our garden view, we were all pleasantly surprised that it was much more. On the balcony, half the view was blocked by another building undergoing construction, but the other half was the view of the resort below and of the ocean which included the Arch of Cabo San Lucas in the far distance. Speaking of the balcony, there was a seating area plus table, 2 lounge chairs, and a hot tub. With the weather so very hot in August, we opted not to try out the hot tub. However, early in the morning, the lounge chairs made for a good quiet time when it wasn't so hot. Otherwise, the inside had great A/C making our stay comfortable. Inside the gym there was A/C (yay!) and a bottled water dispenser, a selection of weights, but only one set each of 5 lbs or 10 lbs, not 8 lbs or 12lbs and Life Fitness equipment, but no Peloton. If you forget to bring your AirPods, you can rent from the desk. Speaking of AirPods, when I was looking for my AirPods on the plane back to CA, I realized I had left them in the gym at the Hyatt. Aiya! When I arrived in San Diego, I called different numbers to access the front desk who found someone to look for the AirPods in the gym. Fortunately, someone found them and kept it at the front desk. In order to have them returned to me, Hyatt suggested a courier which I was about to do until I remembered my cousin was going to be in Cabo a week later. As instructed, my cousin texted before arriving, but no one replied. When my cousin arrived at the Hyatt, the AirPods were at the front desk waiting for him to pick-up. Resort amenities included 3 different pools with great views, but they were difficult to use with the weather being so uncomfortably hot. Additionally, there was a cornhole game, ping-pong, beach rentals which included PFDs because the beach surf was quite rough and two BBQs. At set times, there were games in the pool and crafts for adults/kids for a fee, but due to scheduling, I did not participate. To access the beach, follow the signs and it's a few flights down. Remember to bring your room card because you'll need it to get back in the door you exited. As a word of caution, don't forget where you exited because on my return, I went past our gate and couldn't understand why my card wouldn't work on the gate I was trying to get in. Fortunately, a construction worker took pity on me and let me in, but it was not the right place, so the construction worker helped me out again to get back out. While I thought the shore was rough, there was one teen gal who had a PFD and floating wherever the water took her. For parking, we self-parked as I needed the car in the early morning for fishing and in the evenings for meals and shopping and I didn't want to depend on someone every time I wanted to use the car. Speaking of my rental car, there's a sharp pothole as you leave the Hyatt and onto the frontage road to access the highway. Because I didn't see the pothole, I ran over it and it severely damaged my tire causing me to have to buy a new tire because insurance doesn't cover tire replacement or repair for that matter. Please fix the pothole so this doesn't happen to other guests.

I would classify the "Grand" Fiesta Americana as a mid to upper range all-inclusive. Regarding the room, we booked a Solarium Ocean View. These rooms are on the ground level near the beach and pool. The room is considered an upgrade because it comes with two dedicated lounge chairs on the patio and center table that doubles as an ice chest. The pool servers stock the ice chests with water and also stock it with beer upon request each day. In addition, while at the lounge chairs, the pool servers will come to the patio and take additional drink and food orders. It was worth the upgrade. The room was large, clean, with a stocked mini refrigerator. Regarding the food, some of the restaurants were better than others. The only one that didn't fulfill our expectations was the Cervichria. It wasn't that the food was poor quality, we were just expecting it to have similar offerings as the Cervichria at the Fiesta Americana (non-Grand) in Puerto Vallarta. FA should consider bringing some of the favorites from Puerto Vallarta to this location. The property is large and has a mix of hotel rooms and larger vacation club rooms. A golf cart service is available to assist guests with getting from the rooms to the hotel facilities. The property is built into a hillside with different elevations, so be careful walking around. The beach is not swimable but nice to look at.

It was affordable and included our airfare all you can eat and drink plus the hotel. From the moment we stepped out of the plane we were very well taken care of. We had shuttle service pick us up and drop us off at the hotel. The staff were amazing and provided top-notch service. The lobby is gorgeous and very welcoming. The view of the ocean from the lobby is absolutely stunning. They have a welcome drink, but we didn't receive one but make sure to ask the person at the welcome cart for drink if you want one. Everyone from your party is given a wristband which provides access to the room and allows you access for the all inclusive food and drinks. They provide you with a map, which shows you all of the restaurants on property as well as activities at the kids club on the pool deck, etc. One of the things I would do it if upon arrival is to review all of the restaurants because there are a ton. We ate at every single restaurant during our five day four night stay. I think my favorite was Mexicano and Rosato. We spent one day outside of the resort, but I honestly could've stayed on property the entire time. we had a beautiful ocean view room. As a matter of fact, I think every single room is ocean view. I loved it here. we will definitely return.

The beach is great to swim. The pools are great. The restaurants offer varied options....although we only ate at one and it reminded me of a Luau. Gold courses close by. Pickleball and Tennis courts. Beware - Food Poisoning…read more We were excited to spend our spring break at Hacienda Del Mar. The resort is beautiful and many of the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are however some major issues with management and lack of accountability. We traveled with our two teens so we stayed in a two bedroom ocean view condo. Our first morning we woke up to the dining room ceiling caved in and water leaking everywhere. The front desk staff was helpful, but we spent the majority of our first day looking at other available units, then repacking all of our things, moving them, and unpacking again. The unit we wound up in was not as good of a view or location as the first, but we were happy to just move on. We never heard anything from management about this major inconvenience, we didn't expect anything for it but an apology would have been thoughtful. I would not have even mentioned this if not for what happened next. Thursday evening we had dinner at the resort (because we purchased the all inclusive plan so that's where we ate the whole week) and by midnight I was awake with stomach cramps starting. I spent the next 16 hours violently, violently ill. At this point my husband had reported my illness to the front desk and they suggested I see the doctor on site. I made my way there and they said I had to be transferred to the hospital because my blood pressure was too low. I spent the rest of that day at the hospital, and incurred quite an expense due to the injury incurred at the resort. On top of that, they also charged me for seeing the on-site doctor. Although I was still quite ill Saturday I filled out and signed an incident report and requested to speak to a manager. I was told the manager was in the other building and would be in touch. I have sent multiple messages and still not gotten any response. Just an apology from the management would have been great but I incurred significant expense due to the illness from eating at the resort. I also paid a significant amount for an all inclusive plan I was unable to use for a day and a half because I was too sick to eat or drink anything. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and response are inexcusable. Out of our 7 day vacation I lost 3 days dealing with issues directly caused by the establishment. I recommend you think twice before booking here.

There are pros and cons. Here's the negatives first - there are lots of positives too, but the…read morenegatives are bringing out my inner "Karen." There's an aggressive push at check-in to commit you (and pay to attend!) an aggressive 3-hour time-share presentation, asking detailed questions about the cost of your last 5 vacations to convince you their $11000-deposit, $900 annual subscription, $1300-minimum weekly rental commitment for 25 years is a bargain. Food prices are higher than major-city downtown hotels - $30 for a cocktail, buffet $45. (Granted, most guests are all-inclusive or get food at 40% off if in the timeshare plan, but the full price is shown to you when asking for a tip to encourage larger tips.) And then after a surcharge to enter 2 of the fancier restaurants, there's still a further surcharge levied for half the items on the menu. The ice-cream shop is not included in the all-inclusive which seems an unfair money-grab. (When you are on an all-inclusive cruise ship, you are not handed receipts 8 times a day to sign and include a tip.) Long waits at the hostess desk every time to enter the buffet, either when the restaurant is full, or empty; long waits for poolside service, and a long wait to get the bill from the waiter every time - sometimes 10 minutes or so. (When we stood up to leave without signing they snapped into action remarkably quickly.) We were asked to give our room number 3 times at every buffet meal which seemed a redundant interruption. Not enough lounge chairs poolside - every single one was claimed before breakfast every day, despite unenforced signs that one cannot reserve chairs if not sitting in them. We did not get to sit in a lounge chair poolside the entire week. Most lounge chairs had lost their rubber wheels or the wheels didn't even turn. This seems like a simple investment that the hotel refuses to make. Beach was closed for walking (enforced day and night by lifeguards) due to dangerous surf and undertow along nearly the entire length in front of the hotel. Wifi does not reach all areas of hotel and requires a fastidious sign-in that takes longer than 75 seconds esp if the wifi is weak. Outdoor hot tub was tepid - making the walk back to the room very cold. Buffet items are not replenished near the end of the meal service. Tongs for serving at the buffet take a lot of force to close making self-serve difficult, with spilt food everywhere as a result. (Is management even looking at these things?) Although the buffet has a pork, a beef, a chicken, and a fish dish at every meal, and they vary, they are all stew-type dishes with a sameness to them all. When they did try something unusual, it was fish with vanilla sauce that was just a horrible unexpected combination. Authentic Mexican options abound, yet they are all very bland. Two kinds of music playing on top of each other in the spa massage rooms, and the music is distorted as if the pre-amp is set too loud. Massages are $200 for 50 minutes - more than the most expensive US venues, yet the therapists do exactly the same technique in the same order every massage with no special attention to areas marked on the intake form. The therapists do not massage as if they understand specific muscle groups suggesting they are not licensed trained therapists. The tiny general store had only candy; no basic toiletry supplies, and no over-the-counter medications for headache, colds, pain, sunburn etc. with the nearest pharmacy a ten minute drive away. Positives: Whales are abundantly in view constantly (it's March) and can be seen just offshore occasionally breaching - close enough you can hear the "slap" but too far to photograph without a telephoto lens. Architecture and ambience feels grand, though just a little dated, and well-maintained. The villa rooms are remarkably quiet, with very quiet central air conditioning, and staff move quietly through the compound in electric carts. Staff are consistently friendly, always very presentable, and greet every guest they pass. Comfortable bed with perfectly-smoothed sheets and spacious rooms with esthetically pleasing furniture, lamps, fabrics. Toiletries had a nice scent of guava and citrus. Housekeeping was detail-oriented with whimsically folded towels, and florets made from toilet paper. Efficient service at the coffee bar with great lattes. Beautiful gardens are well maintained, with even the dirt raked in patterns at the base of each tree, and gardeners attending to upkeep every day. Service is top-notch in restaurants that require a surcharge - such as cleaning all crumbs off the table between courses, coming by to place the napkin on your lap again after you visit the restroom, waiting with dessert in hand tableside until a break in the conversation, using extra staff to bring all plates simultaneously, offering a first sample taste of even the house wine. And the food is exceptional and imaginative in the surcharge restaurants.

We stayed at a 3 bedroom villa and the week flew by. The rooms were spacious, well kept, clean, and stocked with everything you need. We had our own private plunge pool to soak in whenever we wanted to. You are greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and they gifted the kids an adorable sugar turtle cookie when we departed! They offer sample drinks and popsicles at the pools. Their attention to detail is flawless and everything is well thought out. The resort has an adults only pool, a family infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and another shallow kids pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and was never too busy. The food was fantastic from the poolside kitchen to the on site property restaurants to the private chefs. Honestly some of the best food I've had in my life. The spa is world class and I highly recommend it. We had some of the best nail service, massages, and facials ever. Everyone is well trained and very skilled and experienced in their area of expertise. They have complimentary golf carts that take you anywhere on the property and we never had to wait for one. Everyone is so friendly, inviting, and professional. I truly appreciated everyone's hospitality and warmth. The best part was our private butler who cooked our meals, arranged all activities and transportation off the property, did laundry, and even found our missing shoes that flew across the resort! lol. Our butler Ricardo was amazing and such a delight to have. This is a once in a lifetime experience that everyone must indulge in. It's worth it.

The Mezcal restaurant was our favorite spot we tried on the trip (on and off resort). The food was amazing and the gym was nice too. They even have a reformer pilates machine. Concierge and front desk were super helpful. Such an amazing experience for my first time in Mexico. Came for my birthday and would come back to my room everyday to see something special. If you're looking for beach access, there's definitely not much at all as the water was very dangerous and closed off when we went. The room itself was fairly comfy, but NOT friendly for my 1 year old who got hurt a few times as a lot of the decor is that hard/thick old Spanish tile... also someone needs to chill the water pressure in the shower, cause it was crazy high! Lena restaurant has a swim up bar in the main pool and their menu includes pizza, sandwiches salads, and tacos. The family pool also has poolside service for food and drinks. Shout out to Fidel and Angel for their excellent service! The family pool is near the kiddie pool and play area which has a water system kids can run through and a small water slide. Mio restaurant is on it's own small pool with an infinity edge and beautiful view. Mio menu includes sushi, noodle dishes, pad Thai, and poke, all of which were excellent. We had several dinners at the Sotol restaurant off the lobby. Their menu includes tacos, steak quesadillas, and pasta dishes. Bartender/server Jesus provided great friendly service and made us feel cared for each night when we stopped by for after dinner drinks. Talavera restaurant is where the huge breakfast buffet was each morning, offering a very affordable continental breakfast, or a full breakfast. We found the continental offered more than enough options to satisfy us with lots of great choices including oatmeal with an array of toppings, granola and other cereals, about 20 different types of pastries/breads each day, and a fresh fruit bar. The full breakfast also offered meats, cheeses, custom made breakfast tacos, breakfast cocktails, and a smoothie bar. There's also Los Arcos Roasting Company coffee shop off the lobby, and Starbucks coffee and ice cream available in the Dulce shop near the family pool. This Hilton also has a doctor onsite 24 hours a day. This was a relief to us as one member of our family had an ear ache. The doctor did an exam and diagnosed an ear infection and provided the antibiotics right then and there. The doctor had her come back in the next day for a follow-up and the infection cleared up. Indoor-outdoor seating combines for a rustic, stylish , refreshing atmosphere after a day on the beach or poolside. Aside from this dining option, I highly recommend Vela for a romantic evening near the pool, enjoying Italian-influenced seafood, pastas, and meats paired with some eclectic Mexican wines that thrill one's palate. Talavera Bar is the only difference. Another notable matter is the 15% service charge on everything! And you find yourself tipping on top of the service charge! As a Diamond member, I receive a complimentary breakfast for two each day, but I was billed $12 service charge and a tip each morning.
