After liberally blasting myself with bug spray, I needed a shower before going to bed. I joined Planet Fitness online over the weekend and used their app to find the nearest one which turned out to be here. At 9:30 pm, the parking lot was reasonably well lit and the young lady who was working the counter checked me in (technically, I just scanned my bar code). The gym is large and has all the usual torture devices with 20 screens tuned in to the major television channels. Plug in your headphones to the show you want to watch while you run and you're good. Locker room isn't large but it wasn't busy this late at night. I was able to secure my stuff, change for a shower, have a great shower, change back into clean street clothes and depart. Less than half an hour, no interaction with anyone I didn't want to talk to and I was super clean. Awesome. The shower could have used some attention. There's a rack in there that needs cleaning and someone left a melting bar of soap on the floor. Changing areas were tidy and the lockers were clean.
