Dawn, the owner of OC SUP & Fitness, got me into SUP a little over a year ago when I took a "flowga" class with her (yes, that would be yoga on a paddleboard in the middle of the bay) and I was instantly hooked. I spend most of my weekends in OC, and I still take her fitness classes whenever I can. Aside from the flowga classes, OC SUP & Fitness offers a variety of other fitness classes utilizing paddleboards, including core strengthening and bootcamp classes. The paddleboard bootcamp classes are my personal favorite. I thought I was in pretty good shape until I took one of these classes... I definitely have my ass handed to me each time I take this class. You will do plyometrics exercises and suicide drills on the beachy areas near Fager's in addition to exercises and sprints on the paddleboards. The class may seem a little intimidating but anyone can do it, regardless of fitness level, as long as you're willing to push yourself. I've seen people of all ages and fitness capabilities in these classes, and Dawn puts extra effort into making sure everyone feels welcome and challenged. Most of all she makes sure everyone has FUN! If you're interested in something a little more laid back, you can take private paddleboard lessons or simply rent a board and explore the bay at your own pace. This is a sport that is great for kids, so make sure to bring the entire family! SUP provides a great physical workout, but it is also very relaxing as the feeling of floating and "walking on water" is unbelievably soothing. All of OC SUP & Fitness' classes and board rentals are done out of Fager's Island. The location is perfect, since you can obviously drop into the bar after a nice paddle and grab an orange crush or two afterward! If you become hooked on the sport, like I did, and buy a board you will get a reduced "BYOB" rate for the group fitness classes. There are so many places in OC where you can learn to SUP, but OC SUP & Fitness is always my first recommendation for people who want to learn. See ya in class!

The instructors were all excellent and gave the best cues I have ever heard. They were friendly and welcoming! The other clients were also friendly and kind. The space is on the second floor and the door is on the side of the building. (My first day there it was a little tricky to find because gps places you at the building front.) Once inside go upstairs and down the long hallway. Because it's on the second floor; it's warm inside the studio. Some instructors kept the hallway door opened during class- letting in cool air, and others chose to close the door- making it warmer, but either way the classes were excellent! I wish I lived closer; I learned so much during my practice at Meta Studio.

As a paying customer, I requested that another news station be setup (they did have MSNOW but turned it to MSNBC then changed it to Fox). The staff said they were unable to change it and when I asked a second time, the woman just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I asked in FB messenger and got no response. I do not think it is fair to impose political opinions on customers. I will not renew membership.

The ladies that posted these hurtful, negative reviews apparently have expectations from somewhere else. Kimberly, the staffed hours are on the door. Do you regularly go to a business that has their posted hours 8am-7pm at 9pm or 6am? Energy Gym is accessible for use by members 24/7/365. I suppose you expect them to pay someone to staff it at 3am in the hope someone wants to join a gym at that ungodly hour. Margaret, really, you went during posted staffed hours and no one was working. I call BS. You both sound quite like entitled whiners that should just stay where you came from. I went in to Energy Gym for my usual 7:30am workout. Saw many of the usuals but the number of people working out was double because of the number of visitors there! So Kimberly, you drove 30-45 minutes to either West OC or Millsboro. Tonight was my first time back doing yoga after some major injuries from a head-on collision. The…read moreinstructor was really welcoming and helpful when I spoke with her about possibly having some difficulties with some of the positions. There was a small group of women in the class for this Sunday night candlelight hot yoga session. The instructor spoke with us very calmly and encouraged everyone in their practice. Coming here to this studio was a wonderful choice for getting back into yoga because they are so friendly and helpful. The session was calming, and an amazing way to begin your work week. Something positive and relaxing on a Sunday night. Super excited to have found this studio, and can't wait to visit more frequently.
