so despite living in the congestion of Greater Lake Norman metro amid a dearth of bike friendly…read morevenues, avenues, and boulevards I've been thinking about considering a return to bikery... perhaps a latency from december? anyway I thought it prudent to have a look at the current trends and availability for the returning cyclist and the Mill Cyclery is close enough to walk to which is very nearly perfect because I don't have a bike. yet. plenty of bikes here though. everything from traditional looking cruisers to ultra-mega-poly-nano-stuff and many points in between in either pure pedal-powered or battery-assisted according to taste and intent. it's a full service shop with a full service shop inside and totally not judgey about casual ridership... and Lou actually encourages that sort of behaviour. so for right now I just stopped in to have a look around... may or may not get a bike but it's good to know there's friendly folks right down the street and off to the right a bit for when I decide what to ride...

She is very knowledgeable about your anatomy and how it works with your bike. She looked at my shoes'. cleats position and condition, and my feet. She asked alot of questions off and on the bike as to my feel. Any adjustment was followed by questions. She studies the rider. She uses technology only for a baseline or to provide measurements and used her knowledge of body mechanics and physiology to make changes to the bike. Now the part I loved the best, she also knows the ME parts that need to change: Healing, flexibility and strength wise to get me where I want to be. She just didnt fit the bike to where I am comfortable but yet somewhere in the middle of where I want to be and what I can tolerate with my present fitness and flexibility level. Apparently, they changed "systems" recently and didn't have any record of any of my past purchases. The (new) young man there tried to be helpful but the woman there blew me off and said there were too many filters to help me figure out which one I needed.
