Been here a few times now. Honestly I typically write off most bike stores as places where, not gonna sugar coat it, lots of those douchey hardcore road bikers hang out and work. (You know, the ones that don't wave when they pass another cyclist on the road. Yeah those guys.) But when you give the people the idea that you're a true cyclist and that you at least care about the subject material, they can be surprisingly quite helpful and friendly. The first time I came in here one clerk talked and talked about all the local area rides, races and such and you could tell he was a true lover of cycling. He was good for filling my friend and I in on whatever we needed to know. We aren't hardcore road cyclists but we build our own bikes and he was great with helping us find out about parts and accessories. Another time I came in to buy a freewheel cog and even though they didn't know exactly what I was looking for, they pulled down a box of unusual things and let me dig through it. Depending on what you get the prices can be okay, but generally speaking, and as it is a TREK store, the prices are gonna be quite high even when compared to more modest (less flaunting) bike shops. So in terms of staff friendliness and helpfulness, this place definitely wins out. read more

Ok some I'm new to this bike thing and I'm only visiting Trek Bicycle to get fitted for a bike and price hybrid bikes. We waited for awhile to be acknowledge but the 2 workers were helping someone but they never took their focus off of them until those customers left. So anyway the guy asked if anyone had been helping us I replied no and explained I was looking to get fitted for a bike and he did show me 2 bikes and even let me test drive them in the parking lot. He concluded that I needed a medium size hybrid but the bikes were wayyyyyy out my price range so we looked at a used bike also and it rode well but I rather keep Looking before I buy a used bike. The guy was helpful once he acknowledged us but Trek bicycle is has hefty price tags for bikes so be aware, they also repair bikes so that's good to know. read more

Pretty great place with a helpful staff and great service! I went with some minor service help and they were able to squeeze me in that night. They couldn't finish the service that evening and even called and updated me and apologized. I really like that as I would expect them to just make me assume that it would be done when it was done and not let me know it would take longer than they thought. Wouldn't recommend anyone stopping into this store. To say i got bad customer is an understatement, I got no service, was there for 15-20 minutes looking at 2-3k bikes and had several sales personnel walk right by me and did not say a word to me. Went to REI across the street and saved over 1k and had 3 people helping me at different points. I will never ever walk into this store again! read more

I recently purchased a bike here and it was a tremendously positive experience. All staff were taking the required precautions wearing masks and keeping visitors to a small count. The team was very knowledgeable and let me test the bike I ultimately bought. They delivered the bike to me as promised in time. I highly recommend Trek if you are looking for a new bike. read more

This place is awesome! I own a Trek Speed Concept 2.5 and the mechanics here know it inside and out. I do 1/2 IronMans and they help keep the bike tuned and running smooth. Pretty good selection of equipment and clothes and they are the only place I can find that carries Bonk Breakers for long training sessions. Staff is very knowledgeable, they are all pretty serious bikers. I don't ever need to go anywhere else! read more

Scheduled a time to drop bike off. Appointments were 2 weeks put. Person at time of scheduling said they open 10am Fri. Showed up 11 to drop off, sign said opens at 12, 3 people inside ignored me at front door. Came back at 12:30 to a line of 8 people waiting just kept driving. Won't ever see my business again to buy a Trek brand or for service. read more

Today went with my nephew to get his first bike, there were a few people there but I waited patiently, after the guy was done with the other customer he walk right pass me two time with out asking if I needed help. And clearly the people working there saw me and my nephew, the store is not that big. After another minute, I said "excuse me, can you help me"? and he went straight to another customer that just walk in and we made eye contact, so I left. I guess they don't need my money. Went to the Trek in Mooresville and the moment I walk in, got help and got my nephew his bike. read more

I've been interested in a quality bike for some time now and wanted to check out Trek since I see their name everywhere major cyclists race. I stopped in to this location awhile back and wanted to try them out, get information and see what was available. Well, I was promptly greeted and asked a series of questions that would tailor my likes and wants with the proper bike. After narrowing down the choices, I settled on a hybrid bike...it was crazy ridiculously priced high. However I knew I was buying the name, quality, warranty and service all of which were important to me, not just price alone. To date after many months, I can say I'm truly satisfied with my Trek as I was the first day I purchased. The sales staff was wonderful, knowledgable, and very helpful to a novice like me. I would highly recommend Trek of Charlotte and if price is your only deciding factor and not quality or accommodating staff then this isn't the place for you. There are bike shops for you, but you'll soon find they don't compare to Trek. read more

Every store gave me a different answer and i knew i only needed a few adjustments. Collin looked at my bike and tuned it up in 5 minutes. Top line: non-pretentious bike shop full of people that want to convert you to a bike addict! I have been here many times, in fact bought a few bikes here. In addition to bikes, this is also the place where I take all of my bikes to get serviced. Salespeople are knowledge, kind, don't hate you if you don't buy an expensive bike, and just overall are good people to work with. Bike shop here is a little expensive, but nothing crazy. For me, the comfort of knowing they won't over-charge you, plus the knowledge they have about cycles, makes it a great place to get a bike serviced. Bottom Line: if you are considering getting a bike, do your self a favor and check this place out. read more

We only briefly stopped in just before closing and didn't even buy anything and the man who helped us was very nice and informative. We needed a little extra air for a flat and some instruction on our CO2 adapter. He put air in the tire no questions and explained how to operate the stopcock thing In a Very helpful way. Many places would get an attitude or refuse to help since we were not patrons, but they were just great. I will definitely be returning when I actually need to purchase cycling supplies. read more

The Trek Bicycle Store is awesome! If you are looking for a new bike, equipment, or service, look no further. The sales staff educated me and never once pushed me into buying anything. Service guys educated me further. My girlfriend and I took our time to demo two mountain bikes over two different weekends. Were never pressured into a purchase. Just purchasded my 5th Trek bike this weekend. Have been to all three locations and I can tell you first hand this is a top shelf bike shop. Excellent customer service and sales. I purchased my single speed District from Rob at the Northlake store and my girlfriends Pure from the Mooresville store 2 years ago, and just recently a 7.5 FX from the new Ballyntyne store. We just moved back in to Charlotte so the Ballyntyne store will be my new stop for tune-ups etc. Glad to have them very close to my home....don't buy a new bike without stopping here first!!!!... read more

This is truly a customer focused bicycle shop. I recently purchased a bike here that I ultimately returned due to fit issues. The bike size error was completely my fault and when I went to return the bike I did not anticipate a simple process. What I found was a truly caring shop employee named Jason who not only quickly processed my return but then took a great deal of time to discuss my bike needs. He asked insightful questions about my riding style, preferred trails and current bike. Through a detailed exchange of questions on both sides, it was determined that I had completely missed the mark with my bike purchase and he pointed me to a bike I hadn't considered. What started as a bike return that I was dreading turned into an experience in exceptional customer service that left me feeling at ease with the entire transaction and excited for an upcoming bike demo where I'll have the opportunity to test ride the bike Jason suggested.
