    Live Oak, Hefeweizen

This place has everything I could want in a brewery. An incredible Hefeweizen that would standup against any others produced in the US, plenty of seating inside and an oasis of an outdoor area. You are close enough to downtown or the airport but feel miles away.

Stopped in there for a quick beer. The choices were wonderful! Everything from a lighter beer to a very smoky tasting beer. The bartender was super helpful in telling us about the different beers and gave us a little taste. Enjoyed the outside picnic areas along with frisbee golf! Super fun!!!!!

We stopped in on a recent road trip and had a great time. We were greeted by a well-mannered poodle! We tried the Hefeweizen and the Big Bark amber lager. Both were tasty and refreshing on a hot day. They have a food truck (The Black Forest) on site that was excellent. They have plenty of seating inside and on the patio. They also have a disc golf course and they sell the discs at the brewery. The playlist was awesome and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be back when in the area again.

    Enjoyed Live Oak's Oktoberfest Festbier!

Getting another brewery off of my wish list that was on there for a bit. Steve and I had their Oktoberfest beer which was a nice one to enjoy for that particular beer season. Flavor highlights are about the same as most Oktoberfest Festbiers which would be a malty, hoppy and sweet flavors as you savor this beer. And of course... swag, swag, swag. I had to check out their swag shop and got an awesome t shirt where the logo pays homage to Heavy Metal music so after enjoying the beer, buying some swag I felt like I had a complete brewery experience with Live Oak that was a pleasant one!

Stopped here for the first time when my friends flight was delayed into AUS. This is 100000% better than waiting in the cell phone lot. I had the Krug, which was labeled as a FestBier. Nice and crisp! Not too heavy. It was raining on my visit, so not the best time to check out the disc golf course. I'm have to come back into town for that! Current menu in the photo:

I always enjoy a trip out to Live Oak Brewing. Their Hefeweizen is my favorite by far. I also learned you can get fruit flavors added. Highly recommend the pineapple and grapefruit! I love that dogs are allowed inside and the have a huge outside to sit around. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

This place has it all! Outdoor and indoor dining from the bbq food truck, frisbee course, hiking, nature and decent brew! There is plenty of beer, except IPA. They've got a couple but are only about 5.5 abv and not hoppy. Aside from that I went twice while visiting Austin!

Eight beers on tap, all brewed here.

They have eight beers on tap that they brew on site. Each is 4.4% to 5.4% ABV (one is 3%). They definitely lean German / Czech / Polish with their brewing style, which is a great brewing style. And they do that well. I also like the music they play there. It sets up a good vibe. You can sit inside on one of six extra benches (easily seat 8 people each comfortably). We weren't offered a menu, so not sure if they offer snacks or anything but if so, they weren't proactively offering them. They also have a very cool and large outdoor space. But it is definitely not on beaten path. There aren't any businesses next door. Still, if I head to airport to pick someone up and their flight is delayed, this is where I'm heading.

As an establishment, this location is pretty awesome. Outdoor seating is more vast than what's inside. A good portion of it is covered next to the building. Other areas are in very heavily shaded areas amongst the trees. Inside it's very wood rustic, with a cabin feel to it. They have a shelf full of board games for those that wish to sit and chill for a while with the brews. The bar is pretty wide. Had 2 taps from what I saw. The beers appear to be mostly German types of Pilsners and such. The two beers I had were really good. Now, for the staff, I had the same tall dark haired gentleman help me both times, and he was not the type of person I would hire for my staff when it comes to greeting an helping staff. I'm very much used to craft beers and I know what I like. Not being familiar with German beers, I mentioned my taste, and the attitude in his voice was a bit rude and very unfriendly. His first words were "there are German beers, we don't have Ales and Blondes". I already knew this, which is why I asked for assistance in making a decision. This individual didn't care to lend assistance or advice. Not the best representation of the business I'm sure.

I love their Hefeweizen and love the fact that you can add flavored syrups to it to make a radler. This location has changed a bit from the last time I visited (not because of anything the brewery is but simply due to distance) and I'd say it's definitely an Austin-must try

So go see for yourself to prove me wrong. ;o)~ It took nearly one year to complete and it was well worth the wait. The opening of the newest and most innovative disc golf course within a city park of Austin, Texas ended the nearly 20 year drought of not having a new course built in a city owned park. The disc golf course is located just east of downtown Austin and south of the popular Lady Bird Lake. It resides in an area that is known for softball fields, sand volleyball courts, bicycle trails and jogging paths. The course was built over the time of one year and easily integrated with all of the active amenities, parking areas, local facilities, and it assured connections with the trails and paths for local residents and those in the collegiate housing that is also near to the area. The Roy G. Guerrero Disc Golf Course encompasses a playing area that is over 2 miles long, filled with 18 baskets, and mostly contains dual tee pads to accommodate both Pros and Amateurs alike. So bring your water and your energy to train on a great course while improving your game. PROS for the Course: - defined fairways and solitude of play: no worries about getting hit by a stray disc - concrete tee pads with paver stone edges: provides stability and greatly reduces erosion issues - all materials from the site were used/recycled on the site for mulching and rock walking paths - water runoff/drainage was addressed to prevent unneeded erosion issues (hence, rock walls and barriers) - each basket has a 4ft x 1in rubber composite pad that prevents dig outs from when you remove your disc from the basket, pivot, and walk away - shade and lots of it - double helix flight paths for the fairways to accommodate left/right handed players - accessibility: trails to/thru the course connecting from bus stops/bike paths/collegiate housing give access to many people - brings great usage to an under served area and uses the land very well CONS (if you needed some) - limited water source/toilet facilities in the area now that the park WILL be popular - need a large trash receptacle in the parking lot to accommodate the people who cannot keep trash in their car POINTS OF INTEREST - you don't have to play to see the beauty, walk the course and look for the deer and wildlife - there are NO TRASH CANS on the course. This was intentional because the PARD has limited resources to send employees there, also, this was ruin the serenity of the course having containers sticking out like sore thumbs. Plus, the traffic needed to empty these cans would place an undue hardship on the course, by default, making roads across the landscape and defeating the purpose. *If you can bring it in, why not BRING IT OUT!* Overall, TOP NOTCH, GREAT COURSE. Bring your Big Technical Arm for a Risk vs Reward system that will pay off with great benefits.
