I was very excited to take this tour and have been a longtime supporter of Still Austin. Before the tour began, I purchased drinks and was encouraged to buy a bottle I already planned to purchase because it was close to the 9:00 PM sales cutoff. Unfortunately, the bartender who sold me the bottle failed to note my purchase or communicate it to the other staff. When I later picked up the bottle and informed a different bartender that it had already been purchased, he took the bottle from me and refused to verify the transaction, even after I showed proof of payment from my bank account and asked him to look up the purchase by amount and time. Only after the original bartender was located and confirmed the sale was I allowed to leave with my bottle. The entire situation was embarrassing and completely diminished what should have been a great experience. I have a whiskey review channel and have been a devoted fan of Still Austin. A brand is defined not only by its products but also by how it trains its employees to treat customers. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of that standard. read more

THE BLACK AND WHITE: Came here to celebrate an engagement party and the space is really nice. Limited indoor space and most of the space is outside that's covered. They mainly serve cocktails that they make with Still's own whiskey. For cocktails, we got the south texas sunrise, bourbon old fashion, and pretty in pisces. They do have a beer on draft that they get from St. Elmo's next door and they call it the bananaweisen because they infuse banana into the beer. Still Austin Whiskey is top quality and probably some of the best whiskey you can get in Austin. This compliment is coming from both a friend of mine who really enjoys whiskey and from me, even though I don't drink as much. The quality and taste are truly top-tier. When we go with a group of friends, we like to order a flight so everyone can try different flavors. The whiskey is strong, but still very smooth and tasty. They also have a limited edition release called Nancy's Pick at the beginning of every month, and it usually sells out within a few days. That alone tells you how popular it is. We like bringing friends here when they visit Austin, and it's also a great place to grab a bottle or two as souvenirs when traveling out of state to visit family or friends. This is a hidden gem a bit away from Ben White with a bunch of other businesses including a brewery. Parking can be found but it can be a walk. We went as a group and hung out at a table inside. It can get loud as it's echoing from a cement floor. Drinks run about $15 but they are yummy and the staff is great. This is the place to get Still Austin merchandise and buy a bottle or two. All their whiskey is the best. They also have an outdoor space that is partially covered. We went on a rainy chilly night, so we opted to go inside. Hubby cashed in his date day birthday coupon...pretending to be tourists in Austin. He wanted to go check out a distillery. Not my first choice...for sure. However, I went with the flow. His birthday coupon...his choice. Smile. Austin Distillery, his selection, has garnered quite a reputation as a premiere Texas distillery. It perpetuates the Big Texas personality - from the large outdoor venue and murals to the concert stage (Antone's live music on Sundays at 1 pm). You definitely feel the country charm and laid-back casual atmosphere and the we're glad you're here vibes. The distillery has a tasting room including bourbon, rye, or seasonal releases. We ran into an out of state visitors and they raved about the Austin distillery. They raved about the Cask Strength Rye Whiskey. In the tasting room you same one whiskey or have a whiskey flight. In addition, to selling liquor Austin distillery sells souvenirs from clothing to water bottles to lip balm. We tasted the Cask whiskey and we agree with our visitors on the smoothness and taste of the whiskey. The Austin Distillery also host distillery tours. Wandered into Still Austin during a trip to The Yard. We sampled some Whiskey and since it was hot out, our server recommended that we try the frozen old fashioned. It was better than we could have imagined and very strong. The maraschino cherry was delicious. The covered patio was great. Although, all the seating is barstool height. While in Austin for a bachelor party we decided to swing by Still Austin Whiskey Co. for a couple of drinks. We stopped by on a weekend afternoon and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly crowded. This could be because it was almost freezing temperatures outside The interior is very well lit and well decorated. A line starts from the entryway to the bar, but there's a gift store all around the interior space. Fee free to step out of line to peruse their souvenirs while waiting for the line to go down There's one main bar to order drinks from. Out the back side there is a wall of small seating options (tables), but most of the seating seems to be outside on the covered patio. As I said, it was cold, so, they turned on the gas heaters. There's also a cool little stage for live music and entertainment When we visited they were out of one of their flag ship whiskeys - the Bond Blue Corn. There are several cocktails options on the menu. Everything looked great and tasted solid. I was a little disappointed that just about all the cocktails were on draft The staff were friendly and fairly efficient. The line would grow practically out the door, and there would be a few bartenders behind the bar, but again, most everything was on draft so I'm not sure why a long line kept forming. But again, they are pretty efficient so you won't wait too long Some tips: They do offer tours, but we opted not to do one since most of us have been on may whiskey tours in the past You can get a rating card at the front bar to track tasting their various whiskeys. What an awesome place! We booked a distillery tour in the afternoon and had a great time walking through the facility and tasting their spirits. Our tour guide Alyssa was great and knowledgeable. While in Austin for a run for my wife. We have always liked the bourbon. We did not do the tour but I did do a tasting and my wife had a craft cocktail. The flagship bourbon was the best to me. The Cask strength is a bit rough ( first time I had it. The Rue is pretty tasty as well. They have seasonal bourbons but were all sold out. I was excited to finally visit, but they were out of all the limited release selections and didn't have them to sample either, except for the Spring but I had already purchased that before in Total Wine. I went on a Tuesday so nice and quiet and the service was great to get a cocktail and sit outside. They should probably collab with one of the many breweries/wineries to make some unique batches or cocktails onsite. Come for the whiskey, stay for the gin. I first visited ages ago when I was still on the fence about gin in general, and theirs won me over. Everything they distill is remarkably approachable, great for fair-weather drinkers and connoisseurs alike. It certainly keeps winning awards, so you know it has to be at least halfway decent. Definitely sign up for a tour to get the full story. It's short but fun, informative, and you get samples at the end, which is perfect for the person (like me) that wants a little taste of everything. The cocktails are also solid, my favorite of which being the Cold Fashioned, a frozen old fashioned that's the perfect for a hot day, which is most around here. Chill on the patio, make a day of it. Dropped by Still Austin Whiskey Co. on a Friday because they were doing a Rye 7 year Whiskey drop. So it's best to look for parking a bit away from the entrance at Still Austin as it seems everyone likes to park right by the door. We found parking, by one of the side buildings. There was no line when we got there around 12:30pm. The limit was 4 bottles per person and we got lucky as they had plenty of bottles left at this time. We parked, we walked in, we got our limit of bottles, we paid took a few pictures and left. Mission accomplished. On this day there were lots of nice and happy employees working. read more

Bourbon, pizza, and hanging with friends-honestly, what more does a person need to achieve peak happiness? Every time we're in the area, it's an automatic stop. At this point, I think they should just reserve us a table with our names on it. The Old Fashioneds here? Dangerously good. Like, "I'm suddenly funnier and better looking" good. The pizza? Absolute perfection. And the vibes? Immaculate. These legends I hang with might be questionable, but this place never is. By far our favorite after-work spot. We found out about a free comedy show being held at Still Austin Whiskey Co and just couldn't resist. The parking before getting in was a bit hard to find as there's many different breweries/restaurants in the area but there should be a space for you to find if you look. The interior is nicely decorated with an indoor bar and a view of their distillery behind glass. The outside is nice as well with a food truck, cornhole, and plenty of seating. They're also dog friendly so keep that in mind if you read this and look to visit. The drink special for the night was $5 gold rushes so we had a few and settled in for the show. The drinks were pretty good, sweet and not too strong but gave a buzz. The comedy was pretty good with a variety of different styles. By the end of it we were definitely glad we came and checked out the venue. Seems like a great place to attend events or shows so hopefully we'll get out there another time. read more

Stopped here for a drink after an event and really enjoyed everything about this spot. Chill spot to chat or play some games. They have a few available and I'm sure you can bring your own too. Not loud so you can hear one another talk. Drinks were great! The Gemini season was interesting and well balanced. I had the cask strength on a big rock and it was beautiful. Excellent ambience and the mister fans did a great job cooling us all down with the texas heat. We had the tasting drinks 0.5 oz each and customers may have four kinds at a time. They have cute merchandise and got the yeti logo metal jug. Line was long but it was pretty quick. They give military discount! The first guy and lady staff were not friendly and were short---no smile, and were not in their great moods--- not sure what was going on. But the third guy was good and able to answer questions I had without looking irritated like the other ones did. We still enjoyed our time but not impressed with the drinks and service. read more

Came here kinda late on a Thursday. I've been drinking Still Austin Bourbon for a while (hello blue corn) but had never actually made it out here until now. Very cool place inside and out. Lots of merch, indoor and outdoor seating, seasonal cocktail menus etc. The Sweet as Pie cocktail was so good! It is a bit pricy but on par with others similar to them. Parking was questionable since there are so many businesses in that area. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

It's a really fun area with multiple drink and food options around, but Still Austin is definitely the one I'll be returning to. I LOVED their Rye. It was smooth and soft at the first sip with a pleasant burn after. Overall probably one of the best Ryes I've had in a minute. There's plenty of seating outside and they have a food truck out there. Overpriced drinks, greasy food from a truck, and the most rude employees I have ever dealt with. When asking what whiskey I should get to pair with my old old-fashioned the lady at the register rolled her eyes in the back of the head like I should've already known. They then had the audacity to try and upsell me a $20. .5 oz of a "rare" bourbon. I later found out that this special whiskey was a limited release. In which they handed out wristbands to the first 300 people and still allowed other people to continue lining up, knowing that they had already promised the amount of bottles that they had. This place has good whiskey. I'm not going to lie about that but the incompetent of the employees and the overall atmosphere is a joke. read more

I have had Austin Whiskey products before but had never visited the facility prior to a Yelp event. After the event, I was excited to stop by again. The distillery is spacious and comfortable with a friendly staff who go above and beyond to describe the variety of whiskies that they make. I love that they offer tours as well as tasting events. Always a good idea to check their website for the fun events they have coming up. They also make a gin that is probably one of the most refreshing and tasty I have ever had. This place was freaking cool. My husband and I are whiskey drinkers, and this was on the list, I'm very glad we got to check it out. The amosphere is very clean and put together. The bar is gorgeous. They have a nice outdoor space, but they had live music going (which is awesome) but we had a sleeping baby so we opted to hangout inside. They have a bunch of board games which was perfect for keeping my 4YO nephew occupied, we played a couple rounds of Jenga. Now the drinks. Wow. My husband of course did a flight which he enjoyed all the options, but my sister and I got cocktails...all the options looked amazing. I'm not a super sweet drinker, and this was not that at all, they had some incredible, unique options that paired with whiskey so well. It was hard to choose which one. It was our first time visiting, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. When you arrive, the menu is posted at the entrance. Once you're ready to order, you head to the bar. You can choose to either open a tab or close out; when you're done drinking, just return to the bar to settle your tab. We did a whiskey tasting flight, and learned they have a rule of serving only 2 oz total at a time. I highly recommend sharing because these pours are STRONG. We sampled the following in 0.5 oz pours at $3 each. Honestly, I couldn't tell much of a difference between them since I'm not a Whiskey girl. Also, I couldn't focus on anything other than the intense alcoholic burn which increased as the proof increased (one sip was enough for me). 1. The Musician - 98.4 proof | Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2. What a fun weekend spot! Or weekday if you're feeling zesty. Ventured out this way with a couple of friends last weekend and had the best time. They have limited seating inside, but a large outdoor space with misting fans to keep you cool. Saw kids and dogs in the patio area so definitely family friendly. The drinks were absolutely delicious. As you can tell by the name, they offer mostly whiskey style drinks (bourbon, rye) but they do have a few with gin mixed in there as well! Huge fan of Still Gin. Recently attended a Yelp Elite event at Still and they were offering samples of frozen old fashioned. Normally I'm not a whiskey fan, but the frozen concoction was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I would love to drink this when the heat cranks back up in Austin. Honestly, this was one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had. We drove six hours from out of town and, unfortunately, accidentally booked our distillery tour for the wrong date. That part was completely our fault, 100"% we should have double-checked. However, we were surprised that there was no call or email when we missed the tour for the wrong date to even check why awe missed or if we were running late, (the day before) which might have helped us catch the mistake in time. When we arrived, we spoke with the bartender to see if there was any way to make up for it, especially since we had already been charged. He said he'd check, but when he came back, the response was "you can book another tour" absolutely rude and then walked off the only option l was to rebook for another day and pay full price again. It was really disappointing. There didn't seem to be any effort to help or any understanding of what was clearly an honest mistake I didn't event want a full refund but NO type of effort or talk went into the matter. Given the distance we traveled, we were hoping for at least a little flexibility or customer care. That said, we ended up going to Balcones distillery in Waco instead and it ended up to be the best part of our trip. read more
