We did not go further in to the hiking area . Plenty of car parks . Public restrooms with supplies are near by the children playground . Lots of pickle tables and BBQ grilled . This is a great location for a birthday party or friends gathering. A little further down are the beautiful fountain and a heart shaped pond . Lovely plantations and trees are omit . A few chairs . Perfect spot for photo shoots for groups or for small family. It is going to have more sun the next few days . I could imagine how beautiful this park would be with sunshine and blue sky !

I've seen a coyote, lots of squirrels, and plenty of birds. Oh, and in spring, the cherry trees on the lower slopes throw on their gorgeous floral finery. If timed right, residents can take family photos. The park is often calm on weekdays. But it can get quite crowded when baseball or soccer leagues hold tournaments and/or the community room is rented out for a party on weekends. Parking is often impossible at these times.

The grass was green and well kept, and there was plenty of space for kids to run around. The covered picnic areas with a roof was so nice and perfect for rainy days or a hot sunny weather, and it offered many things to keep kids entertained such as a good-sized playground. It's clean, easy, and works well for group gatherings. Only downside is the restrooms were available but not very clean, and parking can get a bit tight. Overall, a reliable spot for things like birthday parties without feeling chaotic.

I'm not just reviewing this place on a recent, pleasant dog walk (which is a great place to do and they have doggie fountains here as well). No... my roots go way deeper here. Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. Lot of personal memories as well.

It's a 2.2 mile, easy walk/hike behind some homes and loops you back to Red Willow Park. The walk is fine, but there's nothing interesting to view, and you can hear the cars nearby so you don't get that out-in-nature feel. The park itself looks nice. There's a little playground with a slide and some swings. There were a few picnic tables with a bbq grill. Looks very clean, and there was no one around on a Saturday morning. We only passed by the park, so this rating is strictly for the trail.

Red Willow Park is a sweet little park at the end of a cul de sac that could be easily missed!…read moreThere a few parking spots and the park is fully loaded with a playground, picnic benches, and bathrooms. I came here to participate in one of the San Ramon hiking challenges, unfortunately there aren't clearly marked signs for the trail, so you kinda just have to follow the trail. The SR hiking challenge has it as a 2.24 mile hike starting at red willow park and then descending with hidden crest loop. Apparently hidden crest loop was really hidden since I couldn't find it! Haha. There were different trails in different directions, but without clear markings and the higher grass like trees it didn't feel like a good idea. You can find the short trail and back right after passing the bathrooms. You start with a steep incline at first, but nothing too major. Once you get to the highest part of the incline, remember to turn around and take in that beautiful view! Along the way you'll see flowers and wildlife such as unique birds. Spring is the perfect time since everything is so green and in full bloom. A word of caution, stay in the middle of the path since getting too close to the outside with high trees, you may find some other wildlife! I did run into a couple of tiny garden snakes when I wasn't on the middle of the path, but they were harmless and merely trying to get away into the bushes. The mantra I kept repeating was that they are more afraid of you then you are of them! Regardless, stay on the path! Definitely a park that should be explored if you're ever in the area!

This park is surprisingly nice…read more It's probably the nicest well-kept park of this size I've ever been to. A lap or two around this park will give you plenty of exercise. There is a large well kept lawn surrounded by green hills. What's interesting about this park are the scattered rose gardens everywhere I call the Garden of Souls with each raised box of roses named after loved ones of the past. The playground was designed like a Western scene with jail and police station. This is a very charming park. The only downside is the noisy school sharing a border. I recommend coming here during school hours when it's quiet. There is also a large BBQ picnic area. A real gem in Danville I will be coming back to.

No swings at the park unfortunately, which is why I gave it 4 stars...But, there are bathrooms. Overall, just a beautiful park to frolic in -- and maybe play parkour.
