I can't say it's the most exciting trail but a decent trail when the flowers are in bloom. It's a fairly easy hike at that.

Went hiking at Tassajara Ridge Trail. Lupine (yellow and blue) were giving a stunning display at two areas along the trail. One area is very accessible near Longleaf Clr entrance. The other (even more impressive along hills) closer to the water tank area round the top of the loop. Cattles were grazing everywhere but they were friendly.

The boyfriend was looking for a hiking trail in the area and came across this one. We decided to come on afternoon hike on a Sunday last month. This hiking trail has lots of open space. The trail was enjoyable to walk, it was easy. We also enjoyed the views too.

Fairly nice local place for a hike. We went during the summer, very dry. You get to see cows up close along the trail. Can get windy as you go up the hill deeper into the trail.

Great place to be. Open, private parking lot with a good amount of parking spots. Dog park located close by. Main attraction is the trail that leads up to the mountains. Beautiful spot to sit back, and enjoy the beautiful environment of San Ramon. Absolutely stunning view of sunset / sunrise. Has a path, not a trail to hike up, and explore. Watch out for the cows!

I live in Windemere (housing development in San Ramon with tons of houses) and bike, hike and run through the surrounding hills on a daily basis. The Tassajara Ridge Staging Area is part of my 15-20 mile mountain biking loop regimen (I run there occasionally too.) It is an amazing open space - miles of cow pasture open space with a continuous five mile fire road/trail up and down the hills. There are lots of cows, coyotes, deer, birds of prey and even a badger sighting! Oh, and I can't forget the burrowing owls - super cool! There is a really nice dog park at the Tassajara Ridge parking area - my dogs love to run around and meet up with much larger dogs there. What a cool place to have in my neighborhood - FIVE STARS!

I usually ride Windemere to the staging area and take the entire trail down past the high school. It makes for a nice local 10 mile round trip ride with some really sweet views of Mt. Diablo, Livermore, & the San Ramon area. There's some decent downhill descents but if you're an avid mountainbiker, beware the wet season (yeah, whats that? especially around here) since the water turns the trail to very heavy and sticky clay which quickly builds op on tires. There are plenty of "branches" - other trails that dive into the nearby neighborhoods which makes this a great progressive trail for someone that wants to work their way up. There's also an amazing climb about midway through to keep the ol' ticker happy as well. Try it out and take some photos along the way!

The park seems well maintained and there are a number of benches. They also have a nice grassy area as well as a cemented section so your dog has options depending on their preferences or the weather. There is shade and sun and the area and other patrons were welcoming and quiet. Our dog had a lovely time sniffing about and we enjoyed gazing at the beautiful spring blossoms. We had picked up some lunch and were looking for someplace that we could eat it. I searched for a Dog Park on my GPS and it brought me to this park. After I parked, we walked by the gate and saw that it was limited to small dogs 20lbs and under. There was no one using the park. We walked down the street where we had seen some picnic tables and had our lunch there. Our Shiba just sat there patiently waiting for us. She did score a few small pieces of oxtail and that may have helped keep her on point. While we ate, we kept an eye on the park. No one used it while we were eating. When we were done, I took a calculated risk and took her into the park. We chased around for a few minutes and then it was time to leave. One woman walked by with a small dog, and I asked her if she wanted to bring her dog into the park and we would leave. She basically laughed at me and said no. I found out later that the large dog park was across town, so we'll have to look for that one next time.

SUMMER CONCERT REVIEW: The city of Dublin hosts free weekly summer concerts from June through…read moreAugust at Emerald Glen Park on Thursday evenings. This also coincides with their farmer's market. I came here last Thursday to catch "Pop Fiction", a cover band. I arrived at 5:40 PM, 20 minutes before the concert, so I walked around to check out the farmer's market. There are food trucks, fruits, veggies, seafood, pastries, and lots more. The concert is at the Amphitheater, which has a couple tiers of lawn area. Early birds take up the back section and set up their tents and tables. We had a few folder chairs, and brought our own food for a little picnic. "Pop Fiction" was high energy and did a good job with songs from the '70's to today. They were a little pitchy at times, but everyone was just having a good time. As the evening progressed, more people came up front to dance or sway. There's no shade on the lawn, so definitely bring sunscreen and hats. The park itself is huge, but I didn't have time to check it all out. We enjoyed the concert and picnic. We'll probably be back for another one before the summer is done.

The atmosphere was so amazing. There was excitement coming from the park and waterpark. There were tons of local vendors. I truly enjoyed all the sampling at the farmers market. Perfect spot for play dates, birthday parties or just to exist. That's what our daughter loves to…read moredo every time she visits. Since there are SO MANY play areas and structures to explore and enjoy, I have never heard her say she is bored. Our daughter can exist here for hours with snacks and water at hand. Kids are ALWAYS here so it is easy to find a playmate, if needed, for the day. There are restrooms directly behind the big play area with multiple stalls. It is well maintained and usually stocked. There are lots of benches, both with and without backs, surrounding the various play areas. There are numerous hammocks surrounding the park (closest to the swing area).. Be careful not to get too relaxed and misplace your lil one(s). It gets pretty hot out here and with the absence of shaded benches, bring a blanket to sit beneath a tree or an awning and chairs if you're fancy. Parking is directly outside the park. With ample parking it is difficult to not find a spot. During summer months it gets a little harder do arrive early. A grass area separates play from parking. There are plenty of bike racks as well. If you do not feel like driving the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station is a 12 minute walk away. If we ever explored this option I would have to bring a wagon. After play I doubt our little one would want to trek the journey. There are very few food options nearby so definitely come with snacks and drinks. There are working water fountains throughout the park (not refill stations). Come, enjoy! You can make a day of play here without spending a dime.
