A while back I posted a 1-star review of Livewire based on my initial experience with the company. I am now pleased to give Livewire a 5-star review based on the response to my initial review. Josh McDonough, operations manager, contacted me soon after the initial review went live. He had read the review and understood the reasons for my dissatisfaction. He and Dustin Roskam, service support lead, arrived today to make come changes to the setup about which I had complained. When they were through, I had what I had expected in the first place: simultaneous sound through the soundbar and through my hearing aids, when allows my wife and me to watch TV at the same time. Normally, I wouldn't give a 5-star review for a second attempt at delivering what was promised initially, but Josh and Dustin's professionalism won me over. read more

Livewire did a fantastic job updating my home entertainment system. From the initial sales with Brad to the installation with Dustin and David everything was professional and top notch. The installers spent a full day at my home and cleaned up a closet full of wires to a tidier, safer system. Now instead of juggling 3 remotes I'm able to control everything with one. WOW! A COMPANY THAT UNDERSTANDS THE TRUE MEANING of CUSTOMER SERVICE! What a professional, personable and talented staff they have. I have had two large projects now completed by LIVEWIRE. The first was a pool speaker system, wifi, SONOS, SunBrite TV, etc...Looks and sounds incredible. The second was an upgrade to my existing theater room, with more Klipsch speakers, the new Sony 3D / 4k projector with Atmos, and a Yamaha receiver. My theater now feels brand new. I also would strongly urge anyone to subscribe to their OVRC program/app. Should anything fail, there is someone there 24/7/365 to answer your concerns and get back up as quickly as possible. Henry, owner is great at identifying the issue and resolving it!

I don't know that I can speak to their work. I had the impression their pricing was out of line. I got quotes from other firms. It confirmed my suspicion. Their pricing was nearly double of the other quotes I received. Update 3/11/17. Livewire asked me to take my review down. I was trying to be polite. Their charges are excessive. I got the work done for less than 1/2 and the speakers I bought cost more! The installer I chose has been in business for years and quite professional. Below are some line items from their quote. You decide what is excessive and what is not. $ 49 for Comcast cable box installation and setup. (It was already installed and working) $ 99 for Blu Ray setup $125 for paint and labor to color a pair of speaker grills $ 97.50 to take the TV down and adjust connections $ 299.00 to assemble/install a 18u rack $ 199 to program a Harmony remote (I paid 85) I am willing to pay a premium. I have contracted with Lane Homes and Classic Kitchens. They are two of the highest priced contractors in the west end. I just want value for my investment. read more

I have used Livewire for both the security and home automation products in my new home over the last year. Their consultative approach really helped me find the right soulutions for my family without any pressure or worry about being oversold. I did have the chance to also "test" their customer service... Batteries die, who knew! A special replacement battery was overnighted and I was back in business with a follow up call the next day! Now I just need to find some more gadgets to have them put in the house. Livewire will continue to be my goto for all things techie! read more

Extremely disappointed. The builder used them to install the wiring. Upon moving in my home- Live Wire comes to sell add -on's and refuses to explain and repair the wiring that is under warranty. The owner is disrespectful and unprofessional. The owner refused to stand behind his work and continuously tried to sell me additional items - all items that I can install myself if they had done the wiring correctly. I asked the owner again to send a technician and he said "technicians are like a screw driver they only do what they are told". Extremely disappointing. read more

Livewire Installed cable wiring throughout the house and Sonos. We could have chosen a less expensive option but I wanted somebody to go back to if I had issues. The installation was good but I had to drywall all the holes that were made to fish wire after paying a high cost. No customer service resolution after the fact on a Sonos issue, so I went directly to Sonos customer service to work through the issue. It turns out Sonos is easy to install yourself and has very accessible customer service. read more

Excellent knowledge level and service, especially with IT based home automation

LiveWire in Richmond Virginia is not just the type of company that you want to consider for your home theater needs, but the type of company that we would all like to work with. The difference is their people which start from the top down with Henry Clifford (henry@getlivewire.com) and one of the key people who have joined him, JD Dessofy. It goes beyond prices and service. They care about you beyond what you would expect. Many companies talk about exceptional customer service - LiveWire lives it. Early in 2014, we signed a contract with Theatre Extreme in Richmond, VA to install a home theater in our new home in Chesterfield. We provided funds to Theatre Extreme as per our contract presumably to purchase the materials and prepare for the installation. As we approached the installation time, we stopped by their store front in Short Pump, and found an empty store with a note on the door that they had gone bankrupt and were out of business. We were devastated. One of their former employees, JD, went above and beyond to find some equipment to help to start the installation. We contacted Henry ad LiveWire, and in his compassion and good businesss sense, he and JD worked with us, many times taking no profit whatsoever, in order to help us complete the project. It's comforting when you deal with businesses who keep their word and do what they say. It's rare when you see these companies go above and beyond. It's truly unbelievable to find a company who will put their own interests aside and work passionately to develop a solution to a problem which they did create nor for which they had any responsibility.
