Worse delivery service ever! We have used living spaces at the fremont and San Leandro locations through the years and everything was great but Manteca delivery people are HORRIBLE! We had the Trenton coach schedule for delivery on New Year's Eve day and the 2 people that where suppose to deliver the coach where the rudest, laziest people I have ever met. They tried 1x for 2 min to get a big piece in through the door and quickly said "just buy another coach, this won't fit". After a lot of back and forth with corporate and rude/insulting comments made by these delivery they ended up not delivering it. Fast forward and my husband did measuring and has been able to tilt the big piece into the house so if the drivers just tried harder they would have done it to. We decided to get our own truck and pick it up Ourselves so we didn't have to deal with them again. Never again will I buy from living spaces. The worse customer service (by delivery and corporate). I want to add that the sales woman and people that helped at the store to sell us the sofa where kind and did their job well. This store is overpriced for the quality and level of comfort of their furniture. Also, they don't have an incoming phone line. The only way to contact them is via email. For a store that seems to often have more employees than customers you would expect someone could be answering their customers questions via the phone. One last concern is their return policy. 7-10 days and no returns on some items which no one warned be about. They wouldn't even give me store credit!! read more

We bought a very expensive couch from here and a week later, one of our electric recliners broke, so they gave us a new 1, and a week later, the new 1 broke so it's safe to say that the couches from them are just pieces of c*** I'm so unhappy. We visited this store on 9/2/23, this review is for my experience at the store: This is a large store with lots of options! The store feels new, and the items are styled and positioned well. The staff are responsive and polite. The bathrooms are clean (always an important thing on my list!). They offer coffee and water, and even have a kids' area! The rep who assisted us (Diana A) was so great in helping us make our purchases today! She was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable about the items in the store. We felt very at ease with her and like there was no such thing as a silly question. She was professional and an asset to our shopping experience. I was surprised when she told us she's only worked here two months! Her knowledge base was exceptional. We didn't feel pressured into anything. We are so happy with the decisions we made, and we owe a lot of that to Diana A. If you stop in this store, I would recommend asking for Diana A. (Disclaimer: I have not been to this store or met Diana A until today- I get nothing from sharing my positive opinion of the store or sales rep. The service at the store - okay.... The bigger issue is after they take your money and products being delivered. I purchased a dining room set from them toward the end of January in the neighborhood of $1,300 - the first delivered my table and chairs were backordered for 4 weeks - fine. I didn't have chairs so didn't need to use the table - when I got around to inspect it, it had white spots all over it - I tried to call them and they said it was my fault and that "why did it take me 3 days to notice that it was defective?" Uhh, because I had no chairs so I wasn't using it... Second issue - chairs and bench are delivered 5 weeks later, yes 5 weeks when they had said it was going to be 4- wrong bench was ordered (I purchased counter height table/chairs/bench) they send me counter height chairs and regular bench - when we used it - the table was literally to your chest when sitting. I called because they sent me the wrong one - they made me pay another $10 to exchange it because their rep ordered the wrong one. Third issue - one of the chairs was chipped - each chair is about $95. When they were delivered, I immediately told the driver (because of the past issue with the table) he said "let me fix it"... he brings out a SHARPIE.... Yes, a sharpie and paints over it.... I told him I its not the same color and I could see where he painted it.. his response "If it bothers you that much, you can call the 800 number". I did. They said they'd replace it in 2 weeks. I wait, nothing. I call back, they're in back order again for another 4 weeks. They promise they're gonna get me one on their next shipment and nothing. It was now May - they took my money BACK IN JANUARY and I have gone through "managers" who have no customer service skills because that gets me nowhere. They lie and say they're gonna reach back out and they don't. Finally - since they can't get me a COMPLETE set that I paid for 5 months ago, I tell them I want to return everything and they tell me I can because even though the chair was damaged, "I still had somewhere to sit for the whole time"..... Fu**kn clowns. They sent me a check "for my troubles"... guess for how much..... $17!!!! That's right...... Oh, and I forgot to mention - when the 'new' stool was brought, it was missing screws, half assembled - I had to go to home-depot to finish assembling that ishhh although i paid $99 for them to assemble everything. I plan to take them to small claims court. They should not trick customers into buying products that they cannot deliver when they say. My wife and I wanted to get new living room furniture and found some couches and a chair we liked at Living Spaces in Manteca. When asking the sales associate if there might be any sales upcoming we were told NO, we never discount anything, ok fine! I then asked if there was any room for negotiation since we were looking a three pieces of furniture. I should have read these reviews before purchasing a desk and two file cabinets at Living Spaces' new store in Manteca, CA. I was looking for a desk that was in stock, and I was told that I could pick up the file cabinets right away, and the desk would be delivered four days later. The next day I received a delivery confirmation e-mail for the desk for anywhere from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm today. At 6:30 pm I called Customer Service and was told that the soonest it would be here is another week away....even though they'd promised me it was in stock and would be delivered today. No email, no message, no phone call...nada. I'm sitting on the floor writing this review on my "floortop" computer (as I don't have a desk) and now I'm faced with taking another day off to hope it gets delivered on the next promised date. I like the selection of stuff at the store...but I learned that the whole operation is a front for an online store: they don't deliver anything from the actual store...it only comes from the main Distribution Center (one place that delivers to all of Northern California.) They did offer me 10% off the cost of just the desk...and I whined enough that they eventually gave me 20% off the cost of the desk. It hardly makes up for loss of time waiting 9 hours for a missed delivery. I could have gone to a quality furniture store and paid a premium for what it is costing me in down time. read more

Bought 2 complete bedroom set all with problems first the support on the bed frame was wrong( too short) second the chest is completely wrong, the second one doesn't have any footboard they forgot it. I was with customer service and asked for the manager but I was on hold for hour, the manager called me back and said they don't have any answer for me , mind you I took the day off for the delivery , now I have to wait 48 hrs per the manager which is completely BS. My wife and I purchased a couch last year with a warranty, it was delivered in November 2021. In the beginning of January 2022 we noticed that some the cushions were much flatter than others and not as firm. We immediately put in a request to have them fixed. My wife and I live alone with no kids and rarely have guests, we honestly rarely sit on the couch downstairs. You guys sent out a tech to just asses the cushions, the tech agreed that the cushions weren't firm and said he'd submit a request to get the cushions fixed and that we would hear back in about (3) weeks with next steps. We never heard back from Living Spaces so we called the store we purchased the couch from and they said they didn't see a fix request in their system. And that we needed to submit the request again. At this point of time my wife and I are planning our wedding, but we go through the process of submitting an additional request. You guys send out another tech just to inspect. This time my wife records the visit, this tech just like the first tech that came said that the cushions are unusually low and that they were defective. The tech said we should receive communication in 2-3 weeks with next steps for a fix. Again, unfortunately 3 weeks pass and no one from living spaces contacted us and no fix. Our couch is insured, we just want it fixed. We do not want to go through the process of having a tech come out to inspect, we want the cushions fixed. DO NOT USE this crooked company. Nothing they tell you on the sales floor is truthful! Bought a power love seat waited our 10 weeks for delivery only to get an automated call that it was not coming and it said do not call us we will call you when it's available. Seven weeks later we got the call that it was going to be delivered. We use the sofa for about five weeks and one side of it stopped working in the up position. Called for the warranty they said somebody would call us five days later we got a call letting us know that would be over six weeks before somebody could come look at the sofa and then order parts. I will not keep us up for the six weeks old not working it's stuck in the up position and they're refusing to allow me to return it. Living Spaces has a lot of not nice reviews, but my experience with them was pretty good. I ordered a lot of items from them last August; some of it we picked up ourselves, some of it we had delivered, and some of it required full service. The bed frame that we had gotten, we got delivered, but opted to put together ourselves. Well, the headboard had a couple of very noticeable scratches on it, so I called and they were able to get me another headboard delivered within a week. This was very acceptable to me. We also had a big armoire that was delivered and we had paid for full service because we needed for them to bring that heavy thing all the way upstairs... the first time, they came kinda unprepared and the two men were unable to get it upstairs, so it had to sit in my dining room for a week or so until they could get someone else out here to get it upstairs. The unpreparedness/inconvenience of having the armoire sit in my dining room is the only reason I am withholding the fifth star. Other than that, I feel like they have a great selection at various price points, the customer service I received was good, and they were able to remedy the issue with my scratched headboard in a timely manner. read more

They were both so knowledgeable about everything in store and made us feel very comfortable. They answered every question we had and didn't push anything on us. They just wanted to help us find our perfect couch for all our needs, wants, and price range, they certainly did that and more. 10/10 recommend and will be going back for any other things we may need for our home. read more

The worst company to do business with. Paid 3k for a custom couch 3 months ago, and now that it's time for delivery, they've canceled/missed/rescheduled the delivery date 4 times. None of their customer service reps know what's going on with my order every time I call and cannot provide me with the reason for rescheduling my order. All they say is we need to reschedule. We purchased this bed back in early September. It was set to deliver 9/17. We waited all day and it never showed. Then only after the delivery window closed, did they tell us the side rails were missing. We had to pay extra to have it delivered on a "premium day" 2 weeks later. It never showed then either. We get a call that the head lamps are out of stock and they will call us within 48 hours to resolve the issue. 4 days later, they tell me they can't re-deliver until 10/21. We cancel and attempt to look elsewhere for something similar. Then a family member raves about their amazing experience from start to finish with living spaces. We decide to try once more, maybe we just ordered at a bad time? Delivery is set for 11/5 and I call the day before to verify it will be delivered. Guess what? It won't. Something about owing them TEN DOLLARS (!?!?!) so they can't deliver. Believe me, we paid all that was owed, if they needed more money, they could have called and said so. The soonest the can is 11/19. The guy I speak to personally promises to follow up every step of the way. (Spoiler, still haven't heard from him) Finally, it's delivered! The delivery guys are great. Super friendly, even let my 3 year old turn a wrench to feel like he's helping. They open up the last box, which is supposed to have the mattress support slats in it. IT DOESNT. so what are we supposed to do??? Customer support says the best they can do is 12/3! Two weeks of sleeping on the couch with my room is disarray? I popped off the foot board because the box for the drawers is in the way of my box spring. To level out the side rails, I have to stack some spare scrap wood. The chairs did not arrive until the day after they assembled the couch, so I was waiting for someone to contact me with instructions to set up the assembly for the chairs, never heard anything. Finally opened the boxes eight days later and found that one chair was damaged. Opened a claim and never heard back, called today and they said since it was reported after the seven day window, which was not explained at the time of purchase, there is nothing they can do. I'm not one to complain but the customer service for this company is horrendous. Not only can they not find my order, but they hung up on me three times after placing me on hold. Apparently a part of my bedroom set was lost then located damaged. The warehouse finds it appropriate to call me to tell me they will fix it and then deliver it. I tell them no thank you I bought new furniture, I want new furniture. They tell me they don't know how long it will take for them to get me the correct piece and that I can call customer service. After over an hour of trying to get a rescheduled delivery, they can't find the order. Meanwhile I am still receiving text notifications indicating that I have a delivery for today....If I could give this review a negative five, I would. I now feel responsible for referring this place to two other friends who bought furniture and will probably go through the same hell they're putting me through. Horrible experience!!!! read more

Bought an outdoor loveseat less than a year ago and the back legs fell off. Could tell that the screws used to connect the legs to the bottom frame were too short which cause it to snap off. Poor quality. Received authorization for replacement for the same cost. Went in to the store, selected a replacement loveseat for pick up on a particular day. Called the store to confirm the loveseat was ready for pickup but was told it wouldn't be there for another 4 days. They didn't even call me to tell me it's late. Good thing I called and didn't waste any gas. Now I have no loveseat for the backyard BBQ this weekend. Poor quality and customer service. Which you can only imagine how much this couch cost and I even added the protection warranty for $800 more that the rep sold us. Months later we noticed that one of the back cushions was way to short for the couch. Life went by and I finally had a moment to call to have a claim submitted. They even have a bed section, I don't remember other living spaces having it but it was nice! I love their choices of rugs, vases, and accent chairs. And everyone in there is super nice. The only advice I give is... chill out with the whole "how are you doing, looking for anything particular?" greeting. Whenever I go in there around 8-10 people ask me that and it gets kinda annoying. We went in to buy a new bed set for our 1 & 3 year old & were helped by Bertha. We were very specific in telling her what we wanted - a bed frame that wouldn't need a box spring so it doesn't too high, since our kids would be sleeping on it. We showed her the one we were interested in online & she assured us it did not need a box spring. Bertha also told us we would need a thick mattress to accommodate the fact it doesn't have a box spring. We purchased it & at the time, were happy with the customer service. The next day, the delivery team showed up & after setting it up, told us we need a box spring with that bed frame. I went back into the store & tried to explain what Bertha told us & she was confident that we did not need a box spring. I talked to someone back customer service & they said absolutely no returns on mattress, no exceptions. I asked if he can call the manager back, Melissa. From what the guy was inferring, she wasn't going to go talk to me because he was relaying the info she was giving. After telling the guy I wanted to speak to the manager, she finally came back. I told her the story & her response was "I wasn't there during your conversion Bertha, so I don't know what you guys talked about." Pretty much calling me a liar lol. Why would I not buy a box spring & then pay the delivery again to take it out to me if I knew it needed one. If I would've known in it the beginning, I would've bought a thinner mattress & the price difference between that & the thick one, would've equaled out what I was going to have to pay for the box spring. My family was worried seeing this location having 2 and a half stars at first but since we were moving to the area and in need of furniture, we bite the bullet. Our expectations blew us out of the water when we went in with an idea of what we wanted and got what we came for. Coming from the Bay Area to Manteca made us realize how jaded we are as everyone was Hella friendly, very informative about their products and being able to make things an easy process for all of us. We went back two times for a couch set and two bed sets (frames and mattresses). Issac and Stephanie were fucking awesome and very helpful. We had plenty of help from everyone we met and able to lay down all the guidelines and protocol for Living Spaces. Very patient and even if checking out does take a while due to them double and triple checking the order and delivery dates. Pet friendly with dogs as long as you have them under control (no potty on the floors, minimum barking, not destroying the furniture on the floor, etc). read more

We decided to check out Living Spaces for guest bedroom furniture. We worked with an amazing young man, Ryan. He helped us pick out the furniture that was great for our room. We also spoke with a beautiful lady, Olga when we paid. They were both great, hence the second star. When the furniture was delivered the mirror and night stand were broken. We called right away to get the mirror returned and ultimately chose to cancel the purchase of the mirror. The crew finished setting up the furniture and left. I tested the drawers and noticed the bottom drawers don't close right and the bottom sticks out. We called the driver right away to come back and fix it. He told me to file a claim. Then tried to tell me this is how the drawers are and it was normal. He then abruptly hung up on me. I called customer service right away and filed a claim. A month later and it still hasn't been fixed. I called back again and they asked for pics to be uploaded. We did that and still, 2 months later the drawers are not fixed. I called again this morning and was told they don't have a claim number, don't have pics and won't call to help. I have a claim number, So- 010814102. The customer in store experience is great, until you buy. Once the product is in your home the customer service is gone. They literally could care less. "I'm sorry, Blah blah, blah is all they say. I have been patient for 2 plus months and am now tired of the excuses. I will address it with my cc company. It is unfortunate, but the customer service has been just as bad as Ashley Furniture. We were assured by the sales clerk it would take three weeks for our couch and chair to arrive. The table was available within two weeks. Why isn't zero an option? Why does LS not fix the very real problem with executing deliveries? It's like they try to fail. Let me tell you...they are so good at being bad at business. My wife and I spent a few hours this past weekend shopping for furniture in the Manteca store. It's a great store with loads of options and this made it pleasantly difficult to choose. Our salesperson, Stephanie, was a dream and handled all of our questions with knowledge and a smile. She's a catch for sure when it comes to good people. We teetered between two different sectionals, but finally decided on one. A quick check of inventory said 6/8 pieces were ready to be delivered Wednesday (today), and the remainder would deliver on Sunday. We also placed an order for a gorgeous 97" television stand that would arrive on Sunday. We left about $6500 poorer, but excited for what we selected. Today, the day of the delivery, we were emailed - delivery window; 12-3:00. Cool...it was a standard window of time, so I took the opportunity to empty the living room of the old stuff and vacuumed and cleaned baseboards. They even provided a tracking option, like Amazon, and you can watch as your driver makes his stops and gets closer. As they make deliveries, my delivery time updated too. Our driver had nine (9) stops, which I thought was ambitious, and although other Yelpers had issues with deliveries, mine was looking pretty good. Then, the time updated to 1:45-2:15. You would think this would be great news, but at 2:30 the delivery window remained the same while the truck moved further and further away. At 3:10, the truck was 30 minutes away in Banta, then Tracy, then west of Tracy towards Mountain House. I called the service number and was routed to a call center where a young lady, Brianna, told me that she was located in Florida in a heavy accent. I asked to be transferred to the store, and after ten minutes, I was. Or so I thought....The call transferred and then a message stated they were experiencing high call volume...and hung up. Ten minutes gone. I called back, spoke to another person with a heavy accent, and asked about my delivery. He said the message in tracking, which I already knew, stated "unable to start." I said, "yeah, I know, what does that mean?" He didn't know, but offered to "open a ticket" so the store manager could contact me. I refused and asked for his manager; who came on the call and could do nothing to help. Apparently, this is standard procedure for Living Spaces. Over promise and never deliver. You can't contact the store unless you drive down there, they have foreign customer service agents reading scripts without critical thinking skills or truly comprehending the language, and use this technique to gate-keep their stores from resolving issues. Great business model (heavy heavy sarcasm). Finally, my wife - who was at work and NOT sitting in an empty house waiting for furniture - got a call back from the operations manager (my wife had contacted Stephanie who In turn contacted Kyla Anderson; the ops. manager). My wife and I agreed that we would not reschedule and would cancel our entire order. Kyla told my wife she wasn't sure why the delivery had not been completed, and that everything except the wedge (the most important part of a sectional) was on the truck. The fact that the wedge had "mold", we had not been contacted, and everyone in the organization seems to not know what the code "unable to start" means, gives me great concern for the longevity of this chain. So, if you think your experience will be different, it won't. We are not exceptions to the rule, and neither will you be. Word of advice: if this happens to you, and they won't cancel and want to reschedule because THEY missed the delivery, move it out 72 hours. Then call and cancel within the 48 hour cancellation window. Use their incompetence and cancellation policy against them. Fight stupid with stupid. Final Note: Stephanie was great, and thanks to Kyla for saving me anymore hassle that may have resulted from this trainwreck of a business that is Living Spaces. Update: (7/18/22): My wife stopped by to get a printout and make sure all of the verbal assurances from Kyla had been completed, and what she found was that they had NOT canceled all of the order. Try delivering your own goods instead of outsourcing to companies who take on more deliveries than they can make. Try training your CSRs and other personnel what the delivery codes mean. This was an exceptional shopping experience for me. Greeted by the security guard and letting us know that the sales reps do not work on commission was a nice way to start. Lots of available reps around to help. After getting escorted in the right direction (the store is Costco size) we found what we were looking for, sort of. I had lots of questions so I stood and just raised my hand and there is Deanne, ready to show and explain and demonstrate all the points of our recliner couch set. The fabric and construction and comparable models. Deanne was just great. She was a training manager from Phoenix and those new employees are in excellent hands. No high pressure, she was just really knowledgeable and informative. We picked the right couch and included the 5 year extended warranty (that if you don't use in 5 years turned into a credit at the store). Absolutely terrible business. I ordered a table from them and they kept lying about when it was going to come in. 3 days to 1 week to 2 weeks to over a month and I still did not have my order. ZERO communication from the store the whole time I had to call the corporate office who has no idea about anything. Went to the store for a refund and they said it was processed but it was never completed so it took another 2 weeks and finally a supervisor at the corporate office processed the return.
