The day I went to Mattress Firm, the manager was the only one working. My wife and I were looking for a specific mattress. He was very nice, courteous, and had answers to all of our questions. We found a mattress, and when we were paying for it, he told us that we had to keep it for thirty days, and if we didn't like it, we could return it. I asked him if it was free to return it. He told us that as long as the mattress was clean, without any stains, the return was totally free. Three months passed, and we wanted to return the mattress. I called the store, and the same guy told me that there was an inspection and restocking fee. We had to pay somewhere around $400.00. I reminded him of our conversation when we bought the mattress, and he denied it. I was not willing to pay that much to return the mattress, so we kept it. read more

Since we already knew what type we wanted (Hybrid) it did make the process easier since we did not have to look at every mattress to figure out what we needed. We arrived around 11:30 am and there was one other couple looking around. Porter came out and asked to help us. I told him we needed a hybrid and besides the one that was already on the floor, he pulled out another sample for us to try out. It was perfect! Since it was Black Friday, the mattress (Sleepy's brand) was 50% off. There had a time slot for next day delivery. This was a nice surprise. Porter was knowledable, friendly, kind, funny and very professional. He rang everything up quickly and we were on our way. The next day, the delivery team called us and they were running early! This meant we now had enought time to unbox the mattress to give it the 6 hours it needs to come back to life. We were able to sleep on it that night and it was awesome! Felt so good. We got the Sleepys (Mattress Firm's brand) king size Dose Mattress. It says it is medium firmness, but it is closer to firm which is what I need for my back. Had a great night sleep! I ordered a bed in October. when they delivered the delivery company made a joke on my walls and paintings and they also broke my stairs trying to bring the bed in. The excuse I got from the guy was that it was the first day for the other guy. I contacted mattress firm and never got a response from them. After emailing them so many times finally months later someone gave me a call and told me he was going to look for the type of wood for my staircase this Gad been over 4 months and never heard from them again. We had to replace it ourselves due to my kids getting hurt on that staircase. Very disappointed will never buy from them again and they lost a good customer. we also had to hire a painter to fix our damaged walls. read more

When i bought my temper-pedic here i was reassured that with in 120 days i can get a price adjustment when they have sales or if i find it cheaper. I went in during memorial weekend and asked about reimbursement and was told temper-pedic never goes on sale. Paid for insurance on my adjustable bed frame from the sales rep here. When I called them to file a claim they made me jump through many hoops calling multiple companies to get parts. The mattress firm website claim form doesn't even work for the warrantied product they sold me. Then on the date of scheduled service (a month later) the service company mattress firm contracts their warranties to called me after the scheduled time and in broken English let me know that they can't be there for two more weeks. I took all the furniture out of my bedroom today to give the tech an easy working environment. At least a day of notice would be nice. Even a notice before the scheduled time would be nice. There was no apology or any courtesy. Very upset that they sold me such a terrible warranty. Do not buy the warranties. read more

I recently purchased three mattresses from the Manteca location. Sadly they didn't carry the TULO brand in store so I had to order and have them shipped to my house. I went into the store probably a total of four times and each time I was treated well. I mostly dealt with Mike but on the day of purchase he wasn't in so I dealt with the other gentlemen who I cannot remember his name. I apologize! All in all, I am very pleased with my purchases and they arrived faster than expected. I'd also like to mention that they offer financing options for ppl with or without good credit. read more

The staff were more concerned about my kids than they were about my sale. From the second we walked in, they were telling my boys to stop jumping (which I understand and I addressed), to don't sit on that bed, to don't touch that sample piece of foam, you may break it. Bait and Switch going on in this store. They say things then deny they said them. Every customer in the store when I was there had complaints and I heard the employees advise customers the store policy is one exchange when the website clearly states two. They also didn't advise them of the up to $800 you'll be sing in restocking fees. Seems they just want to take advantage of people who need financing. read more

Wow! What a disappointment. We walked in on Saturday and we were greeted by a charming young woman named Tiffany. She showed us several models, went over the features of each, and we settled on a product. They were running a couple of promotions, got a few upgrades and proceeded to the checkout. I bought mattresses before when it was Sleep Train. Those mattresses came with the automatic head and foot risers. Those were installed in another home with no problem even though one of the beds had a headboard and footboard frame. I asked Tiffany if there would be any issue with installing the new bed with a head riser in my bed frame with a footboard. She said no problem, just the middle bar of the existing frame would need to be removed. Great! Delivery was set up for Monday. Monday morning we removed the old mattresses, cleaned, washed sheets, etc. in anticipation of the new bed. 5:00 came, the installers arrived, took one look, said they couldn't install because there was a footboard. They showed me pictures of two other bed frames with foot boards that they didn't install that same day. They told me to reschedule. I called the store. No manager available, but a guy named Earl said that I must have misunderstood Tiffany. I guess two other people that day also misunderstood her. I went back to the store this morning to get a refund. The man working the desk, said he was sorry for the inconvenience, but basically that's the way it goes. I asked him if this problem happens a lot, given the two other people that had the same issue. He said they sell a lot of mattresses. In other words, I took it, that they don't give a damn. We came in jolly and laughing but our good mood changed by the rude salesman when he blatantly rolled his eyes at us. They may have had a great selection of beds but we were immediately turned off by the irritable/rude attitude of the salesman. What made this a 5 star review for me was Gary, not really the mattress (haven't received it yet, but I love the mattress I picked out). He was nice and also very knowledgeable on the products. He wasn't pushy at all and came across very frank. I didn't feel like I was being swindled and roped into buying an expensive mattress. He offered me many choices and was up front about costs, potential delivery delays and what not. Overall I had a pleasant experience and hopefully I won't have to come back in a longgggg time (depending on how I like my mattress lol). Outstanding customer service! By far one of the most enjoyable home furnishing items I've ever purchased. Made my purchase in November 2017. 3months into our purchase while rearranging our bedroom and moving the mattresses, A nail somehow popped out the box spring and tore a hole under the mattress. I hammered the nail back into the box spring but was still left with a hole under the mattress. Later that week I called and spoke with Gary (if I remember correctly). Explained what happed and without question he arranged delivery for a new replacement and pickup for the old one. I couldn't believe how easy and hassle free he made it for me. I'll never deal with another company. I'm 100% satisfied. Delivery was also a pleasure. The two gentlemen were even kind enough to wear disposable booties before entering my home. If I could put zero stars I would. My husband and I just left the Manteca Store (Veterans day around 4:30 pm) and we will never be back. The man who waited on us was rude and dismissive. Didn't catch his name but he was bald kinda tall with earring in one ear (not that it means anything just describing the person.) I don't know if it was the end of the day and he was tired but he was clearly irritated with us. He was bothered by questions were were asking, such as, "What is difference with Cal King sheets and king sized sheets?" His answer - no difference. Then he said don't you know what size your bed is? Like we were illiterate? I said there must be a difference or they wouldn't label them different. He shook his head and turned to go look it up I guess. We asked if we could put the items on our account and he said no you have to spend at least $500 to do that. We also wanted to buy some pillows but didn't even get that far. By that time my husband was done. He told the gentleman (or whatever he was) to forget it as it was obvious he didn't want to wait on us. His response "Whatever" but couldn't look my husband in the eye. Granted my husband had just come from cleaning our yard so he wasn't dressed to impress but he acted like we were a waste of his time. The first time we were at that store (3years ago) we bought a bed with all the bells and whistles. In other words we spent money and the staff was nice and professional. What a shame and what a disappointment. Maybe we will try the Tracy store. Not sure my husband will want to go back to Sleep Train. read more

I went into this store on Saturday and Talked to Mike. Mike asked me about exactly what I wanted, my price range, and started showing me beds. After a while we found the one that I liked. Mike really made me feel comfortable and helped me find the right bed. Last night I received a call from another employee informing at the location informing me that there was a mix up with their warehouse and that my bed wouldn't been in when we expected it. Literally at 10am Sharp when the store opened, Mike called me about the mix up. I went and met with him and he went the extra mile in making sure that I got a bed today. My husband and I were looking for a new bed and we decided to go here and check it out. Mike, our salesman, was beyond helpful. He didn't hover or pressure us to by the most expensive bed or coax us to go for something we weren't interested in. We made our decision but we were stuck between two beds. Mike informed us that we have the option if we don't like the mattress after 60-90 days we can exchange it. Well our delivery was next day. We had it for a couple months and we still had a hard time getting comfy so we went back in and mike remembered us and we swapped our bed out. We LOVE our new bed and we loved the customer service. This was the second time in 9 years we have bought a new mattress at the Manteca Sleep Train. We are just as happy if not happier this time. Mike couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. He looked up what we purchased in 2007, listened to our needs, and helped us choose the mattress that fit our needs. No hard sell here. He also provided discounts and was patient with our questions.
