Working with Celine was the highlight of 2020 for us. We had reservations about hiring a designer initially because we weren't sure if we could justify the cost. We didn't have some major remodeling to do. Our house was brand new and just needed furnishing. Easy, right? Obviously not since I'm here. There's a reason there's an entire profession for this. After getting lost in the Pinterest rabbit hole for a few weeks, I realized I needed help. I had a bunch of vague ideas, and my Pinterest board was all over the place. As inspired as I was with all the Youtube designer videos, I needed someone with a clear vision who could give us direction. Enter Celine. I found her through Yelp, and of the portfolios I sifted through, hers appealed to me the most. Her designs were simple, cozy, and modern, but most importantly to me, there was a unique character to each project, so I knew she had the flexibility to help us design our dream home while maintaining her clean aesthetic. Signing a contract to work with her is quite the commitment. I know some designers will offer a la carte services, but Celine will see your project through from beginning to end: sketching floor plans, creating mood boards, sourcing and purchasing furniture and accessories, and installing everything. This is exactly what we needed. I knew that if I just had a blueprint, I would continually find excuses, and our home would be forever incomplete. She was respectful of our budget and surprisingly made it work. Honestly, I'm so impressed with how patient she was with us. I'm not an easy person to work with. I'm picky, but horrible at describing what I want. Most of it went like this, "I just want something that looks nice... mostly neutral, but maybe a little color... Which color? Oh, I love all colors". And she would come with a mood board with green accents... Me: "No, apparently, I don't like green." So she would start all over again. We went through so many iterations of our space. Bless her. At the risk of sounding cliche, she really went above and beyond. Pretty sure our contract estimated 40hrs for this project, and she easily spent triple that. Window fashions weren't explicitly part of our contract, but she's dedicated to completing the space, whatever that means to you. She helped us find vendors, arranged the meetings, and gave us input on which products would work best for each space. For all the furniture and accessories, she handled all the purchasing, returns, and interactions with customer service. That last part would have been worth it alone. Things inevitably go wrong when you're ordering so many items. Products come damaged or don't come at all or aren't what you expected, and not having to deal with crappy customer service agents is just... incredible. The trade discounts were the cherry on top. The amount we saved basically covered her design fee. Maybe all of this is obvious/considered standard to people who have worked with designers before, but for us newbies, it was an amazing experience, and we would do it all over again. The initial dread at the prospect of furnishing a large space (we went from a 700sq ft apartment to a 4000sq ft house) during a pandemic was replaced with excitement. She made it fun and easy. She was there every step of the way and having that support, on top of the service, was so comforting to us. We can't recommend her enough, and hope that this novel of a review will convince some of you to take that leap. read more

When we finally bought a house after renting for decades, we decided to part with our collection of Ikea furnitures that tolerated our kids' childhood actions. We decided to get help from Celine and she visited our empty new home. She was very friendly talking with us, surveying the home and our family. After the consulting session, she was able to deduct a theme of the design. Within the theme, we were able to choose big pieces from select vendors. We liked heavy tea table, but kind of modern looking dining table, for example. When we were receiving the items piece by piece, we couldn't clearly see how these would turn out. Because this entire process happened through the time of pandemic and logistics meltdown, the delivery took painfully long time. Without Celine's coordination, this would've been a nightmare. We got a lot of help from her in replacing items that were damaged in the delivery process, or even get a refund. When all the pieces finally arrive and they were in place coordinated by Celine, they finally composed the color theme and they worked together like magic. We appreciate Celine's delicate composition. For example, with the sofa, tea table, and cushions together make a picture with distinctive colors and the patterns - and we get to find the same composition in the art piece on the wall. To explain this experience, my recent anecdote of recommending a set of golf gears to my golf beginner friend might help. I wanted to recommend a mixture of different brands - Taylormade driver and callaway irons for example - some used and some new to best use the budget. But he wanted a simple one stop shop from one brand. This would either become a very expensive or a suboptimal choice. I now can see that choosing a set of furniture and accessories to fill a space goes with the same idea. We can choose a name brand and order multiple good looking pieces from there, but if they don't exercise a design principle, all the money will be spent on the brand name itself, not the end product. To us, working with a designer to fill our living space came with a clear benefit. Celine's process to help us was clear from the beginning to the end, and we were able to work within our budget to furnish our new home to a level that we didn't think to achieve. read more

We are so glad that we worked with Celine on our kitchen remodel and our upstairs and exterior refresh. Her vision and choices worked beautifully, and the results are stunning. Celine is patient and keeps on top of all the details, delivery times, and thinking ahead to the next step. She listens to understand how we use the space and what styles we like, and then comes up with a vision for how to tastefully and artfully bring it together. For example, she designed our formerly drab and cluttered media room with a beautiful green couch, stylish magazine holder, two multipurpose nested tables, and a large media cabinet. I never would have thought of these bold choices, but they work extremely well. The room is bright and beautiful, looks larger, has beautiful and distinctive wallpaper to add some flare, and is clutter free now that we have a place to put everything. We even played games on the tables, just like she predicted we would ;) All in all, we cannot recommend Celine's design services enough for your home. read more

Celine and our client were friends and communicated very well together. Not having worked with Celine, we were cautious because we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. Celine, very quickly made us feel comfortable. There was no ego or power play as to who would take the lead in the large remodel. There were lots and lots of selections and decisions to be made. Celine was organized, timely, efficient and always a team member. She has creative ideas, is able to work them out so that they can be accomplished and does so before she get the client all excited. Knowing that something can or can not be accomplished before it is introduced to the client is huge.
