First of all this was held at the beautiful Hartland Music Hall which is just off Avon Street in…read moredowntown Hartland. It's a beautiful building. Old and quite ornate. It's also has a good size seating capacity. It has a Center seating section, with additional seating sections on each side. There was also a small balcony. There are Covid precautions in place and masks are required to be worn at this juncture. The actors and actresses were all members of the community. Quite honestly they were superb. The play was Steel Magnolia's. This story was rolled out and brought out all the emotions that we have-at different times during the play. My nephew was actually the one that told me about the play and when I found out he was interested in going I thought it would be a great opportunity for both of us! There were small breaks between Acts and an intermission halfway through the production. Cookies, water and other small items were available for purchase. Any food and beverage had to be ingested up where it was sold so as to preserve the beauty of the auditorium. I wondered how they were going to do "Steel Magnolia's" as I saw the movie years ago and knew the sad outcome. The way they modified the play encompassed the spirit of the situation without having a death bed scene. I found myself crying anyway. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the production and we have every intention of returning in the near future! "Bravo", "Encore".. Hartland City Players- thank you for such an enjoyable evening!!
