I have done the house, forest, and hayride attractions here and would definitely go back! The hayride is a good "warm up" attraction for those who are more hesitant to scarier haunts but definitely worth it! the forest was honestly the scariest attraction to me, and the house was very cool too due to the quality and effort that was put into its design. I thought it was a little pricey, but I was amazed at the local talent and honestly, if some is going to the actors, I don't mind *as much* supporting local, though it means I'm not always going to bring kids due to price. She researched and purchased the tickets, and all we had to do was show up on time. Nice and easy. The theater is situated in the picturesque town of Chelsea. I love the cute shops, well-maintained homes, and charming community. The Purple Rose is just off the main road, with a nearby parking lot. The theater is small by Detroit standards (Fisher, Fox) but perfect for the hilarious play What Springs Forth. Unlike most theaters, the stage was in the center of the room, with the audience surrounding it. Given the cozy size, every seat had a great view of the stage. My jaw hurt by the end of the play - I laughed continuously throughout the show. The theater staff were friendly and earnest.

Now they show past favorites as well as newer independent films that may not have made it to the larger theaters. Be sure to check out their website for current showings as they only run for about a week at a time. The historic building has been renovated, though still retains it's classic charm. This place is an old-school haven for movie lovers who don't require the latest 3D effects, enormous screens or stadium seating. Do yourself a favor and take a break from the overcrowded movieplex and check this place out. One last note, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but the popcorn was incredible. It's just like regular movie popcorn, but for some reason I just could not stop eating it. The owner also handed us a bag for the road on our way out of the movie Saturday night. How nice!
