Extremely disappointed with the management at this salon. The owner is incredibly unprofessional, treats their team poorly, and they don't even advertise their hours consistently. It was nice to walk into a nail salon and it not be overwhelmed by different smelling aromas and not feel like you were being talked about in a foreign language or feel like you were being forced to get extra add-ons. I was hesitant at first to buy their package on Groupon because of the photos, it looked so glam and posh and I don't see myself that way but I'm glad I put that thought aside and indulged myself to a fabulous treat. The place is decorated with fab and flair, it will make any woman feel like royalty sitting there with your Champagne, Mimosas, or water when it is freely offered. I went in for a gel manicure on Sunday. That night some of my nails started breaking from the tips. Then by Tuesday, the gel came off of two nails. The rest of them are lifting and it hasn't even been a week! The gel is extremely lopsided. The UV lamp must have been on high because it was SCALDING! It's overpriced for the poor job they do. $40 for gels that don't even last 3 days. BYE. Finally, the girls who work there are extremely unprofessional: -The receptionist was wearing booty shorts. -Some of them had hickeys. -They were playing a crime show that had rape content. -They were looking at Facebook posts and reading them out loud. Nice place. Reason why I choose to go here, close to my living space but also my regular nail tech for almost 2 years was on maternity leave and I just really needed my claws couldn't wait anymore. The vibe there is well I didn't feel good. Usually there's some kind of connection between the client and the nail tech. I got helped out by Grisela (spelling might be wrong) she's good. I have received about 4-5 nails services here. I am VERY picky when it comes to how my nails are done and often take forever to choose colors etc. yes I'm one of those high maintenance clients. Each time I get either a gel manicure and/or gel pedicure. Every single one of the nail techs have been so patient and willing to do my nails exactly how I like them. Every time I have went the ladies have always been super welcoming and friendly. My best friend had to get her full set fixed that was done somewhere else and they did an incredible job! They actually have down to earth conversations with you and take time to be detailed when doing your nails. Even when I go without my best friend or have a different technician I always have a great experience. Yesterday I went to get a gel manicure like always and a new girl helped me. Although she was super sweet and my nails were ok the edges and sides of my nails we're missed. I called back today and they got me back in today at my convenience and no charge. They were so willing to make it right and I really appreciated it so much. After I went back today my nails were fixed and they look awesome! I have went to so many salons around Bakersfield and this one by far has been the most comfortable and accommodating. Prices are decent, and everything there is very sanitary. On a side note I'm so sad that Becky....who is AWESOME, will be leaving next week to continue her nursing degree. I highly recommend LivLav, you will not be disappointed with your services! Let's give credit where credit is due. The salon decor is beautiful. No one will take that away. However, the pedicure tech was rude. I felt worse than when I go to a Vietnamese place where I can't understand them. The work: Girl, I don't know about you guys, but when I get a pedicure it always lasts me longer than 2 weeks. Two days later, my pedicure was peeling. For the amount of money I paid, this shouldn't have happened. The salon looking cute and all doesn't make up for the service. Honestly so disappointed by this place such a cute nail salon with poor service we got there close to about 4:30 and left by the time they were closing My older sister and I were going in for 2 pedis and 2 full sets that we didn't get because it was such a long wait and the girl at the front was letting other people crowd at first we assumed they had appointments but we then overheard them talking saying it was fine they'll just get them in but we realized they were friends of somebody who worked in there so we were already annoyed But despite that my niece and little sister really wanted gel mani and pedis so we waited anyways by the time my niece got called back pretty quickly but by the time my little sister finally got called which was at 6:30 they told her they would only have time to do her pedi since they were closing and had no time for the mani if we would have know that we would have gone somewhere else it was such a waste of time It's so unprofessional they say they welcome walk ins but the wait is ridiculous we got crowed and it just wasn't worth the price it's only been 3 days and my nieces and sisters gel polish is already chipping I would never go back read more

Terrible experience at Liv lav Nail Bar would NOT recommend. They are very unprofessional and have bad attitudes. I went to have acrylics done for my wedding. The staff was not inviting they were very quiet no smiles and rude. 2 days later on my wedding day my nails were lifting. I called the manager Blanca she said they lift because i have too much oil on my natural nails or insinuated that I did something to lift them. They don't give refunds and I requested a different girl to do fix them she said no the same girl had to fix them. Blanca was not very helpful and was very argumentative. This review is from my mother I live in LA and I went to visit her and the first visit at this nail place we went together had a very good experience she went back for her wedding nails and was treated horribly not sure if there's new management or what happened. With this type of service given, they will push more and more people way and won't even have a business. Very sad my mom and I are both in the beauty industry I don't think she's ever felt this uncomfortable with a place before. Very unprofessional. I got an acrylic overlay I already have long nails and she worked with what I had and she did an amazing job. I wish I could remember the woman's name. She did an amazing job. This place is ridiculous lol I called around 12:45pm to see if they had a chance for a full set acrylic, the receptionist was very kind and said yes please be here by 1:30, I rushed over since I was on the west of Bakersfield on lunch hour, get there, got seated with a girl at the far end, she showed me her colors and I suggested I just show her a pic, she glanced and looked confused and told me "I don't have that color blue, just ONE blue glitter..." This is the only place I'll ever get my nails done at in Bakersfield again. I actually moved to LA but still come here to get my gel mani / pedi. The prices are affordable, the manicurists know what they're doing and the atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL without making you feel like you're out of place. They accept cards or cash and I was surprised they take walk ins. There's a ton of colors to choose from and they can pretty much do any design or trend you can think of or see on Instagram. My nail beds are gross from bartending but they always look brand new when I leave. Alexandria does mine and she's awesome. Today I tried this place for the first time due to pictures on Instagram. I made an appointment through their website and it was so easy. So today I got there a tad early and was greeted by the super friendly receptionist. She greeted me the minute I came in and told me I would be helped in a minute. Grisel was my artist today. I showed her the design I was after and it was all uphill from there. She was so attentive and for the first time ever I wasn't cut by the dremel. She listened to what I wanted and we chatted just like two friends. All the staff seemed very nice and the products they use are amazing. the nail tech that i got was really rough. she kept pulling on my fingers and my arms. she was filing down way to hard to the point where i was cringing and my nails felt like they were getting hot. almost like a burning sensation. she did not have a gentle hand. when she got to the last part of adding the top coat all she says is done in a irritated voice and i said thank you they look great but she just ignored me she had really bad customer service but at least my nails came out decent for $30. also my some of my nail shape came out crooked. read more
