After 10 sessions, my back pain was completely gone and they'd given me a list of stretching exercises that I have done twice a day every day since then. I went back to Physical Therapyworks a few weeks ago. I'm 65 now and my lower back aches every morning when I get up. I was afraid this would be my permanent condition. I have been in and out of physical therapy for the last 4-5 years feeling hopeless, considering a pretty aggressive surgery, until I found Dr. Kyle at Elevate. He honestly gave me my life back. Having been to a dozen different PTs, I can say he is truly exceptional. Rather than following textbook protocols, he really listens, assesses and tailors his program to my very specific and nuanced case. Dr. Kyle's knowledge is extensive. He really cares and uses his comprehension of anatomy, biomechanics, and kinesthesiology to truly understand the issue and goes above and beyond to treat each patient individually. His office is conveniently located at 7th and Broadway in Santa Monica, and sometimes you can find parking in the building garage, which is a plus. When I met Gadi, he had a calm, welcoming presence and immediately started asking thoughtful questions about my concerns. He explained the Strain Counterstain method, and what was amazing was that during the treatment I not only felt relaxed, but actually started yawning as my body shifted from a sympathetic to a parasympathetic state. What stood out the most for me is how gentle the technique is. It is completely different from the deep tissue massages I had been getting without much improvement. The idea that you do not have to force things, and that the body can benefit from simply relaxing, was eye-opening. I left feeling better and with a new appreciation for how powerful gentle treatment can be. I have now returned several times and Gadi, the ever patient teacher, has been helping me learn how to perform my own psoas muscle release. I have had much less pain, improved mobility and am very grateful for what he does and who he is. I doubt many people have tried or even heard of this technique, and it is a shame, because it is amazing. I hope you try this out.
