1-Star Review: Two Years of Turnover, Lost Prescriptions & No Continuity of Care I've been a patient at Elite OrthoSport for about two years, and the level of disorganization has finally reached a point where I can't ignore it anymore. In that time, I've had to switch therapists multiple times because so many of their therapists quit. Every transition meant starting over, repeating my history, and rebuilding a treatment plan -- the exact opposite of consistent, long-term care. Most recently, after my previous therapist left, I was confirmed for appointments with a new therapist -- only to show up and learn he wasn't there. Someone else stepped in, but she spent nearly the entire session on her phone. I was then told I had no upcoming appointments, despite the front desk having scheduled them and giving me written confirmation. It appears my "new" therapist simply dropped me without any communication, and I never heard from him or the front desk again. Instead of helping me get resituated, they left me without a therapist and with no future appointments, with zero follow-through from anyone on the staff. On top of all of this, throughout my care, the front desk repeatedly told me they didn't have prescriptions from my doctor -- prescriptions I had already submitted multiple times. Appointment information has been inconsistent, communication is unclear, and there's no ownership when mistakes are made. After two years of trying to make this work, I can't recommend Elite OrthoSport. The constant turnover, lost prescriptions, scheduling confusion, and lack of follow-through make it impossible to receive reliable, continuous care -- and it's clear that patient care is simply not a priority here. read more

I hate to write a bad review cause the therapists are absolutely amazing, but.... The billing department is the scetchiest I have encountered in ANY business. I noticed an unorganized charge on my credit card (which I never gave my consent to auto charge) and when I started looking on previous months I noticed elite OrthoSport was charging me small amounts 10-20$ several times, without any notification, email recipe, anything!!! I met my deductibles for the previous year, and I checked with blue shield that confirmed that they covered 100% of the amounts due and I owed zero for these sessions! The billing department is not available at office to talk in person nor they available by phone or email.I called several times, and they refused to even give me an email address to contact the billing department. A few days later I got a call that went straight to voicemail from a blocked number with no callback number. I still have no option talk to anybody or have it resolved two weeks later. This review is long overdue! I was referred here by a doctor, but cannot recommend it for treating chronic pain. I went here for months, initially found some relief and continued because I believed in my PT's various diagnosis, expertise and recommendations. I was told that there was many things wrong with my body such as a misaligned pelvis, SI problem, painful joints, neck issues, etc. Because I gradually got worse, especially towards the end, my PT was making me feel not welcome or making me feel guilty or demanding that I take daily notes of my pain in a journal (which I later learned from a doctor was the worst thing I could do as it only perpetuated the pain neural pathways and created anxiety over pain). Thankfully, I eventually quit them and switched to another PT (not this location) and there, my new PT told me that she suspects my pain was not a result of structural issues (unlike as alleged by prior PT), but with overactivated central nervous system. Her wise recommendation allowed me to explore a new path that resulted in me eventually healing on my own! I just wish that my therapist at Elite was similarly educated and could recognize the role of mind/body. Reading reputable medical doctors' books on chronic pain led to my healing from pain by simply following a hollistic mind body approach; see eg John E Sarno (who treated Larry David's shoulder pain and thousands of others's chronic pain), Howard Schubiner, David Schecter (and non doctors like Steve Ozanich). I can do any activity including running and swimming! I now know there is nothing physically wrong wity my body. Other issues with this place worth mentioning: Elite PTs spend little time on patients (you spend most of your time with heat/ice, exercise etc.). Not all but some PTs (including mine) had a tendency to chat with each other about things unrelated to work WHILE they are working on patients, which is unprofessional. There was high circulation among their staff especially those that administer heat/ice and help with exercise. They assign student PTs that get trained on the job. I found some exercise instructors motivated and knowlegable, but others just didn't seem to care as much. Overall, the place is better suited to limit themselves to athletes or someone who recently had a surgery. In my experience, they won't be helpful to majority of chronic pain patients and the little relief they provide is just a placebo effect. read more

Pain pain pain! After suffering a horrible injury I went to a few different physical therapists. They were fine, but I wasn't progressing as well as I hoped. A friend referred me to elite ortho. No one likes to go to PT. Usually you have suffered some sort of injury and PT is not fun. But I can honestly say I look forward to each and every therapy session with Andrea and Joy. I started out going three times a week. But I had such great progress and would get such great results I changed to daily physical therapy. When you have suffered a traumatic injury you feel hopeless and alone. At elite ortho everyone makes you feel as if your progress and achievement is theirs as well. Not only my own therapists but from the front desk staff to other therapists everyone cheers you on and keeps track of your progress. I feel night and day better after my sessions with Andrea and Joy. They even send you tailor made at home work outs for you to do on your own. I should also commend them for their cleanliness and thoroughness during the pandemic. It's amazing how on top of cleaning equipment they are. It is definitely the safest place to be during this crazy time. Temperature checks and screenings at the door. Hand washing stations. I have been going here off and on for about 2 years and I couldn't be more pleased with the help I receive! Not only from the amazing therapists, but also from the AMAZING front desk staff. In fact, the main reason I chose to go here was because the INCREDIBLE customer service I received when I called to inquire about costs and such. The woman I spoke to, Georgianna, was super helpful and friendly. She actually took the time to explain to me the insurance and how it works as far as a destructible and/or copays, in or out of network. Insurance is ridiculously confusing. She was efficient and soooo damn nice. I could tell her kindness wasn't contrived. I work in customer service and I can recognize impeccable customer service when I experience it. They even sent me an email that explained the parking, the location, and paperwork!!! Way helpful!!! When I began my therapy, Robin was treating me. He is amazing and considerate. He didn't make me feel like "just another patient" he actually seemed to care for my wellbeing and happiness. He is a great therapist!!! In fact, I had my daughter see him as well when she had to have PT for a soccer injury. I have since had the fortune of working with most every therapist they have to offer. They must be very particular in their therapist selection because, although each therapist has their own style, they are ALL AMAZING!!!!!! I feel like a spoiled princess when I am there!!! My experience with this facility as a first time patient with a referral was, that they are deceitful, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. Money is their only campus and wellness of their' patients or customer satisfaction is their last worry. The doctor lady who rated them one-star, before she had it right. A friend referred this place to me and he recommended Melisa. I went there and made it clear with the front desk person Georgiana and she knew my pal and she said shell make sure that will be Melisa. The next day I get a call and was scheduled for an hour with Melisa. When I arrived, I meet Melisa but tag along was a young man with Christmas hat, (not professional attire for a physiotherapist) she said, "You get two PTs for the price of one." I suppose maybe he is her supervisor and she wanted an oversight, it was awkward to me anyway. When I went to the exam room, I was asked to take a short form the cabinet, but they were unfolded fabric shorts that didn't smell clean or detergent, and since threw in the cabinet seems like they were wore before, it wasn't what I expected for a clean place, so far in the first 15 minutes three red flags: 1- Why I was not told about the second PT before I arrive and why two? 2- Why I was not told to wear a gym outfit or bring mind. 3- Why they don't have clean shorts for new patients at least for evaluation. After all, they charge $150 an hour and I was a cash patient. The evaluation was by Christmas hat man and Melisa was just sat and oversight his doing. When I have a question, she didn't answer and ask him "what do you think?" or asked him, "what do you do next" it felt like she was teaching him how to do things, after 30 minutes, she left and I asked him "How long you have been doing this?" and he said, "since October, just got graduated." So at that point, I realized that I was used as a human guinea pig for a brand new PT to learn and she does the oversight, hence she asked him to answer my questions. It is scandalous and outrageous to use a patient for training a freshly graduated student and NOT disclose it, plus they defrauded me on selling me the two for price of one pitch. This for me was beyond insult was a scam, especially that I was refer by a friend for that specific PT. Then the same student makes me do a couple simple tennis ball moves on my own and he left, telling me he will email me a report of my evaluation and exercise to do at home, and I never received any email or report up to this date Jan 12, three weeks after my visit. I did contact Georgina who pretends to perfectly understand the situation that she will talk to her boss and get back to me, she said they have an email issue and she will send them to me. Four days later nothing, I called on them and left a message, she called back and said, her boss is a busy woman and wont handle clients, and don't have time to talk to me, as for why someone else but Melisa was my PT because she was going to vacation and he was going to take over. which validated Melissa lied to me and instead of saying "you get two for price of one" she should have been honest and transport that "hey ill be out of town this guy will take care of you and I would say I'm sorry I don't know this place, I don't know this person, I don't even live nearby here, I'm only here because a gym buddy of mind recommended YOU so if you cant I'm out" but they didn't want to lose the $150 and lied to me. Then Georgina said all they can do is to make sure that from now on my new sessions will be with Melisa. They won't be making any refund or compensation for last time. I told her how do you like to go to a restaurant order a burger and get only French Fries and make you pay for burger it and the restaurant manger respond, "all we can do is to make sure next time you come you get burger " They burn the trust with me due to poor and careless management (don't have time to talk), lying front desk staff Georgiana ( it will be Melisa but was someone else) and carless and Dishonest PT Melissa (two for price of one, instead of I'm out of town this kid will take care of you). Its all about them and collecting money, not about client/patients and their wellness. Not recommended. read more

Just finished six weeks of challenging PT at Elite OrthoSport ("EOS") following total knee replacement surgery and walked away totally satisfied! The sizable facility was humming during each of my 14 sessions. The equipment was clean and cutting edge with scheduled usage tightly managed. The team of individuals working with patients is outstanding! Individually and collectively, the physical therapists and therapy technicians are totally professional, friendly and caring. They make you feel appreciated and welcome. Therapists Morgan, Lila, Christy, Jessica and Chelsea, who really know their trade and aren't shy about pushing you to get better, earned my utmost respect and appreciation. Technicians AJ, Damien, Darrielle and Seanry, who are all constantly hopping from assignment to assignment, really know how to put a smile on patients' faces, which adds to the overall upbeat atmosphere at EOS. Having been a dancer who suffered through injuries and surgeries, it was always important for me to find a great physical therapist who would understand my goals and get me back to what I love doing. I had found Alex Carlin a few years ago when we were both in Orange County and couldn't have asked for more in a PT. She listens to your concerns, tailors the exercises and treatment to the individual patient and is so passionate about caring for people. I have been fortunate enough to be able to follow her to Los Angeles and have been coming to Elite for over a year now, and absolutely enjoy the positive and friendly environment. All the aides are well trained, engaging and easy to get along with. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The new facility at Elite is so modern and welcoming as well, which makes rehab a more enjoyable experience. Now back to Alex, she really is incredible. She has been my physical therapist through my 4th ankle surgery, a shoulder injury and a recent hip surgery. Given the history with my right ankle, the rest of my right leg was compromised and compensating, especially when dancing but progressively started bothering me with basic movement. Alex's experience as a dancer and physical therapist made her a great match for me, but also helped determine what orthopedic surgeons could not: whether my hip needed surgery or not. After prolonged pain and physical limitations, she recommended that I see Dr. Banffy at Kerlan-Jobe for another opinion on my hip as she was certain that PT alone would not overcome the "small labral tear" that was showing on the MRI; she knew this was something I didn't want to hear, but something I needed to hear. I'm just over 3 weeks post-op, where Dr. Banffy did a hip arthroscopy that was far more involved than the MRI indicated. I wouldn't have taken the chance on a surgery if it wasn't for the amazing support and guidance from Alex and the trust I have in her knowledge - she even called in to Dr. Banffy's PA, Adam, the day before my surgery for extra reassurance as I was feeling anxious. PT's spend so much time getting to know you and your body, and I have an immense amount of respect for their medical judgement, especially Alex's intuition. I am already walking without crutches and starting to incorporate some dance-specific exercises to get me back dancing better than ever. My doctor at Kerlan-Jobe highly recommended this place, and, although I'd been going to another physical therapy place, decided to switch on his recommendation. The difference was night and day! At the previous place, they worked on me for about 45 minutes per visit, and I made hardly any progress. At Elite, they work on me for nearly 2 hours, and I made such rapid progress, that I'm terrified they're going to find me out and kick me out (don't read this, please, people in charge!). I was initially assigned to Jared Cato as my physical therapist, but because I can't always go at the same times, I have seen several others there as well. Everyone is good and professional, and I leave there feeling better each and every time no matter who the person I'm working with is, but I have to say that Jared is a step above any of the others. He goes the one extra step each time, he is the most engaging and engaged in what he is doing, the most enthusiastic. He seems the most educated in the field, and he applies that education assiduously. He shows that he really loves what he is doing, and as a result, I love working with him. Not to mention, although I can't say this with certainly because I don't have enough experience with physical therapy, but I think it must be pretty rare to find a physical therapist who is as big a fan of literature and Game of Thrones as I am. We never run out of things to talk about. When I first came to Elite, I was hobbling and barely able to bend my knees. I had some sort of mysterious knee ailment which had crippled me. I was terrified that I would never be able to travel again because I couldn't bend my knees to sit on a plane; I would never be able to play violin again with the orchestra I play with because I couldn't bend my knees to sit on a chair; and in general, that this would be my new normal. During our initial consultation, Jared asked what I hoped to get from my therapy, and I instantly responded that I just wanted to be able to walk like a normal human being. Well, within a matter of a few short weeks, I was doing just that, and I was in shock and awe of Jared's (and the others') magical powers. I will always think of Elite as my "Christmas miracle," which is also the gift that keeps giving, as it has extended into the new year, and, I fervently hope, into many more years. My gratitude knows no bounds, and I wanted to write this review since I can't shout it from the rooftops, which would have been my first choice. I was referred here by a friend and am so happy I found this place! I had some lingering sports injuries that did not resolve on their own so I thought I would visit and see if a PT could help. Luckily, I started seeing Christine and she has been amazing! Short Review: I've been treated by numerous DPTs, and Alexa and Narek are among my favorites; I can't recommend them (esp. Alexa because I saw her most often) highly enough. Long Review: I was treated at Elite Orthosport from January 2020-21 after getting a fourth surgery on my right knee. Front staff is always very friendly and responsive, whether I talk to them at the front desk, over the phone, or email. I initially started out with Narek M., who was great. My schedule ended up not matching with his, however when everything was moved to telehealth, so I started scheduling predominantly with Alexa G. I'm 24 y/o and have undergone four knee surgeries on my right knee. Recovering after surgeries #2 & #3 was extremely painful and tough because one of the previous clinics I went to did nothing to strengthen my lower body, nevermind my bum leg. So I came to Elite Orthosport with a very, very atrophied R leg and, at that point, had come to accept that I wasn't going to play ball, run, or be as active as I'd like to be. Alexa (and Narek, when I scheduled with him) really turned that around for me. Months after I started PT, Alexa gave me a pep talk that, I feel, changed the trajectory of my progress (which was still good, might I add). Her goal for me wasn't merely to get me walking without pain (as it was with one of my previous therapists), but to get my physical and athletic abilities back to normal to the extent physically possible She listened to what I'd say about my pain levels, what I didn't feel comfortable doing, etc. and adjusted my treatment plan accordingly. It's very easy to feel confident with and trust her because she answered all my questions about why she prescribed certain exercises/treatments. She's also really friendly and easy to talk to--going to PT was like going to see one of my friends. She was great at pushing me both physically and mentally, and I never felt like she was having me do something that I wasn't ready to do. I really, really, REALLY wish I had known about her after my second surgery because I know she would have done a lot more for my leg than one of my previous therapists did. Although I'm still recovering, my quality of life has already improved ten-fold. Before coming to Elite, I couldn't walk upstairs without extreme pain, walk downstairs like a normal person, bend at the knee to pick anything up, jump, lunge, squat, run, walk fast, etc. Thanks to Alexa & Narek, I can walk upstairs AND downstairs, bend at my knees to pick stuff up, lunge, and squat; I'm almost able to run without any assistance, which is a huge accomplishment for me. I can also get in and out of lower cars without grimacing. I only stopped going to Elite because I moved back to Northern California for awhile. read more

Head and shoulders above other places. I have done shoulder rehab (rotator cuff tear, non-surgical) as well as diligent 3 month recovery from a total hip replacement that brought me back to full athletic performance with tennis, hiking and yoga. So far I have received excellent care from the therapists and staff at this establishment. First referral was for left shoulder pain. I don't expect the PT to eliminate the pain but I have more flexibility and function. Second referral is for low back and right leg pain and weakness. First appointment is the assessment and therapy session which was painful to get through but has already helped me feel more balanced when I walk. Amazing! read more

This place is the BEST! I tore my acl skiing a few weeks ago. It was very painful and swollen. I was told I needed surgery by the first doctor and that I did not need surgery by the second doctor. The second Dr. Ellatrache is phenomenal and highly recommended Heather and elite for 6 to 8 weeks, 3 times a week. I can honestly say I've seen a HUGE difference in the week and a half of therapy!!! Megan and Jared are phenomenal...they don't rush you and truly care. Actually, the whole entire staff is phenomenal! I can straighten my leg now and am walking much better. Can only imagine by April. I've been to many physical therapy places and BY FAR this place is the best every. My therapist Eric is AMAZING and really cares about his clients as do all the therapists I've seen there. I've in the past noticed the aides being very casual and not really caring, at Elite Ortho ALL the aids are so attentive, nice and checking on you constantly. These guys are the best. They took care of me for almost an entire year after two shoulder surgeries and I saw every inch of the operation at every time of day and day of the week. They were 100 percent professional, really understand the body and what makes it work, have an amazing scheduler/front office godsend in George, just a great business from top to bottom. Heather make sure that everyone who works there is completely committed to getting the patients well and does not accept any mediocrity.
