Karrie, the owner, innkeeper extraordinaire, chef, driver, travel agent, and woman known about town, must have spent no fewer than 40 hours planning and taking care of us. She booked us in the LV suite with fine linens, pillows, towels, robes, and bath products surrounded by tasteful antiques and a balcony looking over some of her gardens. The quiet and romantic setting created a perfect getaway for us. We enjoyed breakfast on the front porch with fresh-pressed coffee, homemade local berry scones. In four wonderful days, Karrie introduced us to each of the 6 wine regions! Just off the plan in Walla Walla, we started in the Airport District. The GG is a short walk from the Downtown District where we dined each evening in a gastronomic delight of restaurants and flavors and wines of course. Karrie packed lunches for us with private reservations of some of the finest wineries. We experienced the regional "terroirs" of the Districts in the Westside, Southside, the Rocks of Milton-Freewater AVA in Oregon, and finally on the Westside before heading back to the airport. She privately engaged us with local artists and the winemakers with private tours. This may sound busy, but the experience was relaxing and memorable. Walla Walla is a must for wine lovers, but Karrie made all the difference in creating a tailor-made holiday for us Texans! Patrick Choosing to stay at the GG netted us a highly personalized first visit to Walla Walla. Karrie went to great lengths to ensure our experience was superiorly comfortable and she homed in on our preferences and desires to elevate and enhance our "jouissance" in delectable wines and exceptional dining experiences. The home, nestled on a shady tree-lined street, beckoned for strolls after breakfast or a quick walk to town to visit Walla Walla's finest shops. La vie est bonne! Lily

I wish we'd spent more time here. We did a quick wine tour and it's a lovely area. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel if I came back.

Odalys was quick to say check in was at 4pm and would call if the room became available earlier. I asked if we could upgrade to an available room and without checking her computer, Odalys said that wasn't an option. I then asked if we could use the pool prior to the room being ready because it was 90+ outside and we were traveling with our child and she again said they couldn't do that due to liability. Which, 5 nights prior, we stayed at a Hilton hotel in Portland that checked us in early AND said we could use the pool even if the room wasn't ready. My husband ended up going back inside and got the room refunded by the other front desk person Dylan, all while Odalys had Massive attitude and ZERO customer service abilities. We ended up at another nearby hotel with MUCH BETTER front desk customer service. Odalys also stated that they didn't have availability due to a local wildfire. I asked the front desk at La Quinta if they also had limited availability due to the wildfires and he said most people had already gone back home and was even able to upgrade our room. In the end, customer service speaks VOLUMES to me, and as long as Odalys works at this hotel, I would choose any other hotel nearby.

Due to the college move in timing, all the hotels and AirBnB rates were very high. Best Western was still the best deal among all the options. However, as soon as we arrived, we realized that it was under sort of construction. Not sure what they were doing, but I saw they painting the exterior walls. Therefore all the windows were blocked, which was fine since we were busy with moving anyways. Maybe due to the hot weather, this time we got so many flies. The flies came into our room, the breakfast room, and everywhere you can think of. If there were only a few flies, it wouldn't bother us much, but there were quite a few. We didn't have this issue when we were there in April. One more issue was that the internet WiFi service sucked this time. We barely could get connected, so we basically had to use our data. It wasn't convenient. I did bring this up to the front desk at the time of check out. They told us that they were in the middle of changing the providers so hopefully the situation would improve once they complete the change. Other than flies and WiFi, I am satisfied with the service and the spacious room. The staff was still friendly as before. It was generally pleasant to stay in this hotel.
