This July 4th was the first time I had been to Lizzy's since 2019. This used to be my late mother's favorite restaurant. After 2020 the restaurant changed their lay out and the food had changed. My mom did not like going to Lizzy's after 2020 but things sometimes change for the better. My aunt joined my brother and myself for breakfast. My aunt had started eating again at Lizzy's about a year ago and she told us that it was great. Walking in we were greeted by our server and she asked us what we wanted to drink. All of us said coffee. They have daily specials on a chalkboard and the Chili Colorado burrito caught my aunts eye and well as my eye. My brother ordered the machaca burrito. After the server took our order we talked and enjoyed our coffee. My aunt and I asked for our burrito to be wet and we ordered them without rice. After waiting about 15 minutes our server brought out our plates and placed them in front of us. Our burrito plates looked great so we all dug right in. They placed a good amount of red chili on the burrito and there were nice chunks of pork in the red sauce on top. I cut right into my burrito with a knife and ate my first bit. The pork was so tender and you could tell it had been simmering in the red sauce for a good amount of time. The tenderness of the pork, red sauce and their awesome beans just screamed FLAVOR! All three of use were happy with our food. I asked my brother how the machaca was and he said it was great. We were not able to finish all our burritos so our server brought us some to go containers. After enjoying my burrito I knew my mother would have been very happy to know that Lizzy's food is still extremely delicious. I look forward for many return visits. read more

Thought we'd stop by and see what's changed from Lizzie's to Grandma's. Our waitress was someone who worked for Lizzie's it was nice to see a familiar face. She was very attentive to our orders and our drinks. Coffee was flowing. The restaurant had the same look as before not much change from Lizzie's remodel. Clean and a fresh look. I ordered French toast and boy was I surprised. The French toast smelled so good! The cinnamon, and the batter made a perfect taste. It was like eating a dessert. Amazing every time! I love the pozole as it is always fresh and never has that little film on top, iykyk. The best waitress there is the blonde one, don't know her name but she serves us almost every time and is just so nice and accommodating! The ambiance makes you feel like you're in a cozy little house, such as your grandmas house on a Sunday morning. Even the fake fruit on the shelves are accurate lol. I've also tried the French toast before which was amazing and very fluffy. Laughlin/Bullhead City are my second homes so I come here every morning before leaving to my home. Upon entering the establishment you will locate this place on a strip mall. Formerly known as Lizzys Kitchen. The a staff hostess Michelle greeted upon entry and allowed us to pick our own seat. The ambiance on a Holiday was very chill,not as busy for being 10:40am. Overall the pozole was plenty for sharing. The to go tamale and egg dish was also ordered. This is such a hidden gem. A mom and pop shop to the core. It's definitely nothing fancy but the food is amazing!! We had a very lovely blonde waitress. I wish I had got her name. She was so sweet and made amazing recommendations. We actually ate here two days in a row because it was so good. So many Mexican dishes to choose from. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. We will definitely be back as we already decided this will be our go to breakfast spot when we are in town. read more

Took a drive over to Bullhead city to get some lunch and lottery tickets. The original place we were going to go to was a little too busy so we headed on down the road and stumbled across this place. Best mom and pop shop I have ever been to. I came in December 2023 because we were looking for someone on our way home back to Cali. My husband and I had to do a turn around trip I'm April 2024 and I had to come here. The food is so great I wish we had a Lizzy's Kitchen back home. We tried the carne asada chiliquiles mild and they were a great combination. They do have mild and hot for those people who like chiliquiles spicy. The menudo also had so much flavor. I'd honestly give this place zero stars if I could. I used to come in here all the time with my disabled mother. That was up until we had this young blonde server. Waiting on us was apparently not part of her job description. She constantly ignored us, rolled her eyes when we'd ask for something as simple as napkins and all around hated her job. We got nothing but attitude and rude service. So if you are looking to grab your own stuff, leave with a bad taste in your mouth and have subpar food. I'd recommend. Definitely ask for Destiny I believe her name was if you want the worst service you'll ever receive in your lifetime. Her destiny should be nothing but unemployment. Lots has changed since covid. Lost some booths, cashiers counter in front of the kitchen. Booths where the cashiers used to be. We are quickly greeted and sat. Immediately got coffee and water. 5 minutes later got salsa, green and red sauce bottles, fantastic. 17 minutes later our food came out. Hot, tasty, crunchy. Tender, just what I wanted this morning. Our server was the only one here, at 730am. She was a pro, checked on us several times. She got a 30% tip because folks just don't do that much. Good help is hard to find. read more

I always root for the small places like this so had to try it as it had great reviews for Pozole. Decor - Really hodge podge inside, not the feeling of a Mexican restaurant but who cares if the food is good. Service - Was great! The yound female server couldn't have been nicer and on top of things. Just terrifiic. Really nice to see. Food - Carne Asada Chilaquiles w/ 2 eggs. Chilaquiles were good and made with corn torillas vs. corn chips which I prefer. Eggs cooked perfectly and running into the chilaquiles. Yum! I will say the Carne Asada was very thin, almost cheese steak thin which I wasn't a fan of. It was cooked well and not to hard or crunchy. But again, I think steak when I see Carne Asada. - Pozole was very good with all of the fixings on the side such as cabbage, onion, cilantro etc. It wasn't the best we've had but my wife makes a mean delicious Pozole herself so she is a tough critic. - They had lots of good looking daily breakfast specials on the chalkboard. HUGE RANT: Lizzy's/Grandmas Kitchen. Do not apply to work here! Do not eat here! The blond "manager" Destiny is horrible! My daughter in law started as a server this morning and she did not train her at all and then had her fired after only 2 hours. She spent the 1st hour of the morning telling my daughter about her personal business (she had a horrible Thanksgiving with too many kids at her house, her baby daddy having another kid with someone else, talked crap about the owners mom saying how everyone is going to be in bad mood now because she arrived, and talked crap about a fellow waitress that "wears leggings and flirts with customers and how she shouldn't even be employed there." She also told her to "expect to get yelled at here" because of the owner and her mom. She put bread for the toast on the floor and said that there is currently no dishwasher and she has been only "rinsing" the silverware for people to reuse. She also told my daughter that they "reuse the salsa that they put on the tables and that she hopes no one licks the spoons." She took an order ticket from my daughter to correct it to her standards and then didn't turn in to the cooks which caused delay for the customers which resulted in my daughter getting fired. Great food and great service. They were so busy but kept everything flowing. I Had the American breakfast (eggs sausage and home fries) and a pancake. Couldn't even finish half the potatoes so much. Very good but everyone around me ordered the Mexican breakfasts and they will looked great. Ill have to come back the next time and try the Mexican food. Wow this place is a total hidden gem. We were staying the weekend at Aquarius and asked the bell desk for a good Mexican recommendation and he said you gotta go to Lizzys but it's a little bit far. We debated it and decided to drive over. Awesome choice indeed. The food is super fresh and you can tell all the sauces are homemade. My friend had the asada chilaquiles and the sauce was amazing. I tried the chili relleno and chicken enchilada and they were so good! The beans were so flavorful and prob the best beans I've had in a long time. Not sure if they serve alcohol or not but the only thing I was missing was a good marg to go with the meal. Walking inside you won't be too impressed, seems like a breakfast spot, but the food is so worth it. We will be back! read more

I had the green enchiladas and they were delicious. I loved that they provided a choice between mild and hot. I ordered mild with side of hot. It was a perfect mix. My friend had the chille relleno which he enjoyed. Stated it was well done and loved the taste. The flour tortillas were thin and delicious. Even the coffee was great. This place is not fancy, but if you want good food at a low price, it's worth it. Also the service was incredible. Very attentive. Came back. Equally as good. Tried the carne asada chilaquiles. Excellent. This place is a wonderful break from Laughlin. However I have noted they continue to get more and more busy. The only negative is they only have the non-dairy creamer for the coffee. Very busy at 9:45 am. Service was initially slow but the servers all helped each other out. Food arrived in good time. I recently moved to Bullhead City from California been searching for my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Well. I found it i decided to try machaca burrito, it was absolutely. I mean absolutely delicious. I got my wife the menudo. She said it was absolutely delicious and authentic. I'm looking forward to going back again and again the staff was very nice. I ordered to go but the place was packed. Looks like a very local spot for families and friends from out of town. Maybe it looked to me like everybody was enjoying their food. I don't think 5 stars gives this place justice. I think it should be more like 10 prices were reasonable and again. The food was just absolutely delicious my burrito was big. I could only eat half of it. Good thing. I guess is I still have half left that I'm going to enjoy. If you live in Bullhead City, definitely check this spot out. I found this place distasteful. The service was good, but so many things were wrong. Bathroom had no paper products. Oops. I ordered chicken mole. The chicken had a stench. It was extremely old. My friend took a bite and spit it out. She insisted on returning it, I was just going to eat the rice and beans and get the hell outta there. Owner said she would take 50% off my plate. Weird. Server asked if I wanted something else. After giving it a think, I said "one pancake, please" (no meat there). It was so-so. I just wanted out of that whack town. Wow, this is now our favorite breakfast spot in Bullhead City. We went in not really knowing what to expect. Basic breakfast food was our expectation. Not at all! This place was great. Don't let the interior fool you either. It may be plain and no nonsense, but the food is good. My husband and I split a chile Verde burrito with potatoes on the side. My mother-in-law chose the menudo. She also recommends the coffee. The flavor of the chile verde was great. I won't even look at menudo straight on...but from across the table it looked like it was packed full of good stuff. It was deep red in color. With it came chopped onions, lemons, tortillas and cilantro. We also had various salsas. The green was nice and spicy. For sure coming back next time we are in town. read more
