It's become a tradition for us to stop in Bullhead City, Arizona, on our way out of Laughlin on the last day of vacation. We usually try a new restaurant or return to an old favorite, and this was my first time here. There is parking outside, although it could be a little difficult if you're hauling jet skis or a boat. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of place. It's older and a bit dated, and from the outside it almost looks closed. There were a few customers inside, most of them appearing to be locals, which I always take as a good sign. The coffee was very good, and I liked that they had self-serve creamers, including half-and-half and vanilla creamer. You order at the counter, and when your food is ready, they call you up to pick it up. There is no table service. There was only one cashier, so if you needed something while she was helping another customer, you have to wait. We needed a larger table, but the only one available needed to be cleaned. An employee came over to wipe it down, and there was some frustration on her end because we had already placed our salsa and coffee on the table. It was a minor, but unfortunately, I had the same experience later when I asked for some more creamer because it was empty. The bathroom also did not have any hand soap or paper towels when we visited around 10 AM. There was hand sanitizer available near the cashier. As for the food, I ordered a carne asada plate with eggs after asking if they had a plate similar to steak and eggs. I requested no rice and no tortillas. The portion was generous, but what came out was quite different from what I expected. There was hard rice on the plate, the beef was diced and more like taco meat, and it was served over a corn tortilla. I also ordered my eggs over-medium, but they were cooked completely through with no yolk. I had a couple of bites and ended up boxing the rest. I did notice other customers ordering things like shrimp cocktails and menudo, which I thought might have been a better choice. In hindsight, I probably should have asked what they were known for. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for either. The coffee was good, the portions were generous, and I'd be willing to give it another try if we're back in town. I will say that their chips and guacamole dip is very good. I also like that they have a self-serve salsa bar, where you can try their green, red, and habanero salsa. They had lime and other condiments available. Next time, I will ask what their popular dishes are. read more

Riliberto's - Great choice if you're craving taco shop style Mexican food! They open as early as 7am and close at 10pm, also has a drive thru, and conveniently located off Hwy 95. We ordered an Arizona burrito and 2 hard shell shredded beef tacos. The Arizona burrito was huge and taste was good. The shredded beef tacos were very small and meh, not worth what we paid. The variety of salsas was good and they were very spicy!! Loved it!! The red salsa had very good flavor w a hint of chipotle. The escabeche was fire as in very spicy and my taste buds were extremely happy!! So if you're not into spicy salsa, I'd suggest getting the salsa verde which was fairly mild. Overall great taco shop and I'd definitely come back here next time I'm in the area!! read more

Food Amazing, bathrooms sketchy! We didn't realize until later that this wasn't a Roberto's, but the food was very similar and equally as delicious. The chili relleno burrito is amazing, but next time I'd get it without the lettuce and pico, as that added nothing to the deliciousness. The Carne Asada burrito was also on point! They have an amazing chipotle hot sauce on the condiment bar as well. I would also highly recommend getting a side of their beans...delicious! I am however knocking things down a star because of the bathroom. It's in disrepair and looks like something I'd find in a back garage somewhere. The door doesn't lock and it's seen far better days, clean or not. I only washed my hands, but I wouldn't have used it otherwise. read more

We decided to try the breakfast burrito selection this morning heading south on 95, just a day after trying their carne asada tacos. The carne asada tacos were CaliMex in flavor, texture and good sized. Good stuff! The breakfast burrito was very good. We ordered two of the bacon breakfast burritos unknowing of the remainder of the contents because their menu didn't say anything like 'includes cheese, eggs, potatoes (fries) a n d bacon'. Surprise! These are absolutely delicious and had all that stuff, and had all the flavor with a decent size to match. Well worth the $7.99 compared to similar CakiMex takeouts in the San Diego area starting at about $10. AND, they gave me a huge serving plastic bag full of their delicious carrots/onion/jalapeño mix. The carrots are cut in 1/4" batons instead of flat style as is mostly common in SoCal. Their salsas however, were the lesser of the enjoyable offerings. We had a feeling we were getting 'the good stuff' when we waited about 13 minutes at the empty 8:30am drive-thru window this Wednesday morning. I'm guessing the remainder of the menu is very CaliMex. Disappointing that a "burrito" only comes with choice of protein, guacamole and cheese wrapped in a tortilla, I had to pay $1 for rice and $1 for beans.... Making a simple carne asada burrito, $15 !!! Not sure where this place got its inspiration to charge for rice and beans which belongs on a burrito ??? Bathroom was dirty and had no soap, maybe cleaning it hourly would be a nice touch for the guest to enjoy a nicer restroom. My Favorite for Mexican Food. The beans and rice are so flavorful and authentic. Their Enchiladas are huge and delicious. Kid's like Fajitas with extra tortillas which are made fresh and huge. I'll order a side to go! The kicker is their Chili Rellenos! Best in town and it's what I judge the kitchen by. It is a must every time family and friend's visit. Even if we're cooking Mexican entre at home I'll pick up their beans and rice to go as everyone knows the good stuff. We like this place! Have only ordered for delivery through DoorDash a few times but everything has arrived fresh, hot, and plentiful. Beware though, the chile verde will pop your eyes out of your head if you're not used to HEAT. My husband ordered it and he likes spicy stuff but this was almost more than he could tolerate! Chiles rellenos good, carnitas good, beans good, rice is really good although I seldom order it. They are very good about special requests too - no rice, no tortillas, double beans, no problem! I went here because I was hoping, as a visitor from another state, that I could find a good Mexican restaurant. However, it seems to be the opposite. The ambiance did not feel like anything special. They also had poor food quality and service. I ordered the burrito expecting it to be good, the first time they had gotten my order wrong. Then, after I got it, it was so watery inside with some wet seasoning of theirs. That it took out the taste of everything else entirely! The menudo also tasted like it was out of a can from the local supermarket. The taquitos were the only good part of the meal. Overall, if your looking for a cheap Mexican restaurant with mediocre food. This is a decent place to go, just don't have your expectations high. read more

Came here for a quick stop while we were in town for a tournament. The cashier guy was very bland. But got the job done. Ordered a Carne asada burrito which was just ok. Just ordered from Rilibertos. Ordered a taco salad with shredded beef. Suppose to have beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and cheese. There was no sour cream, no guacamole and a sprinkle of cheese. The whole thing was the meat, beans, lettuce, onion, pico and cilantro. And peppers! None of that was listed to be in it and the other was missing. Meat was way too spicy to eat. Super disappointed as now I can't eat my dinner. Put the correct ingredients in of what you state is supposed to be in them. I had to add my own cheese and sour cream. And it still is disgusting. read more

I can understand a place to take a weekend off but think about your customers a little more. No caution take blocking your driveway or a simple sign at the drive up menu saying tour closed. You make us sit and wonder why are they not answering just to find out at the drive up window your closed. This was our first time in here. We had a two taco combo plate and two extra tacos. We split this between two of us. I also asked for a side of chips and they made us some fresh and hot. The food was very good and so was the salsa bar. My only complaint was that the bathroom was not clean. This needs to be addressed. I hope the kitchen does not look like that. read more

Cashier rang up my order wrong. He didnt repeat my order, so I didnt notice it was wrong until he brought my food. I told him it was wrong, and if he would have corrected my order (the correct item is actually cheaper than what I was charged) then I would be fine. I'm leaving two stars because the very few times that my order turns out right the food is pretty good. However almost every time I order my plate is completely ruined. It doesn't matter if I go through the drive through or order on door dash, I have to request NO BEANS on my plate because I have an allergy to beans. And almost everytime I end up with double beans on my plate and it's not edible for me. I grew up on Mexican food and know how to avoid my allergy to beans. Riliberto's sunk my battleship with a California burrito this past weekend :( Was told their version of my all time favorite food came with steak, salsa, fries, cheese, and guac. Sounds like a good start. So, I paid the premium to add sour cream. Got home, salivating the entire way. Devastated to find that my burrito was missing both guac. and sour cream.
