The place is great on customer service and very friendly and talkative. I have had a toe nail color change done (regular polish), a fill-in (twice), and a pedicure on a different visit. I have been happy with the outcome of my nails both times. However, I am giving the 4 stars because both times I visited the shop, I was cut. If you've ever been cut before its a small annoyance and super inconvenient. I will go back. Hoping to have a slightly different experience.

It's always a red flag for me when a shop showcases OPI nail polish, but doesn't actually offer it. I was in for a gel manicure and a toe polish change (I recently had a pedicure with my normal technician, who is currently out of the country--which is how I ended up here). Granted, the previous polish on my toes was dark (OPI shade Lincoln Park After Dark for my ladies who know); but the nail technician made VERY LITTLE effort to actually remove it. It's going to take a little more than 1 barely-moist cotton poof, so I was subjected to intense scrubbing with subpar results. I had to ask her to remove more of it, to little avail. I have included photos of the previous polish that can still be seen, despite me choosing a bright red that would typically mask any small imperfections. We then moved to the manicure. I was subjected to very uncomfortable pushing of my cuticles with THE NAIL TECHNICIAN'S OWN NAILS. She would eventually get a real tool, but I have never had a professional tech do this! Not even sure that is sanitary. On completion of the manicure, there was poor polish coverage & bubbles around the edges. I had asked for festive nail art (Valentine's Day is around the corner)--it was like pulling teeth to get a decent design. It doesn't look horrible from afar but up close it looks like a child's artwork. I won't be back and will not recommend.

The customer service was lovely per usual, and my nails initially looked beautiful. Approximately 13 days following the service, I noticed two of my nails separating from my nail bed (this indicates the service was not done properly). After 15 days, I lost two nails. While I greatly appreciate the service, I think it is unlikely I will continue to go to 79 Nails due to this most recent experience. When I pay decent money for a service, I need to know that the nails will be durable. I do not engage in activities that would lead to my nails breaking, and I've never had this concern before.

I chose this salon due to its 5 star ratings, but this is the worst experience I've had in a nail…read moresalon EVER! I didn't get the name of my technician, but I went in with acrylic on my nails and wanted them taken off and then get dip powder on my natural nails. This technician proceeds to take an artificial nail tip and rip off my acrylic nails (I've never seen this "technique" before) so while she's doing that it's ripping off my natural nails and causing me to bleed. She says "you wanted tips, right?" When I originally didn't, but at this point I have to because she's ripped off my natural nails. She puts the tips on and proceeds with the dip powder, when she finishes she buffs my nails and instead of just buffing the nail she is buffing over my skin, and is breaking down the skin around my nails causing me to bleed again. Her customer service skills need work, as well as her ability to be gentle with customers. She didn't apologize once, instead getting irritated with me that I was jerking my hands and saying ow. Overall my nails look decent, but it's still a one star rating due to the lack of caring from her and the other technicians around her who were well aware of my discomfort and frustration.

so i don't really get my nails done a lot but when i do i always go to prospect nails!…read more the service is great and the workers are so kind and friendly!! jen is super nice and my nails lasted 2 months with not one chip! prices are great and super affordable!! the vibe in the place is great! i love how the workers always talk to me while i am getting my nails done!! if your in the area i would recommend going if you want your nails to look great and your card to not decline!
