He came out and assessed the damage and said he would give me an estimate. He gave me the estimate and helped with my claims examiner to sort it all out. I was given LKL's information and once I connected with Sam I was ready to get started. He insisted on me doing my research to make sure I wanted to go with LKL, which was odd to me that he was ok risking the possibility of me changing my mind but he explained to me the importance of choosing the right company as my home was an investment and I shouldn't trust just anyone to handle it with out knowing more about them. Sam and I have went through a lot over the past 7 months. This guy will take care of you from start to finish. My insurance was making me jump through hoops for over four months, trying to find ways out of paying me, but Sam stuck through it thick and thin, telling me what to do and making sure that we get the full value of the repairs as appropriate. From our very first meeting in November of 2017, Sam walked me through what he wanted to do and that was to help me make the place better than it was before while potentially saving money at the end of the ordeal, and boy did he do that. I had a water leak from the second floor which affected the master bedroom as well as the kitchen and living room downstairs. The whole kitchen had to be scrapped and repaired. Since insurance was already going to compensate for the labor of re-installing the kitchen appliances, Sam advised me to purchase new appliances, which then he will install for free as he was going to re-installing one anyways. Any detail that I mentioned that I wanted, Sam found ways to economically make it happen, whether it was a new black splash or a closet door. The response rate whether via text or phone calls from Sam is like a machine. He will respond as soon as he can or at the very least text you that he is busy and will call you back. The only thing that I think could have been better was the timing, the majority of it not being Sam's fault, whether it was due to insurance or the nature of the industry of being a contractor. It's been about a year since LKL did work at our house and I'm really bummed out about 2 things. The new bathtub was damaged in 2 places when a tool dropped during tiling. They "repaired" the crack/hole by reglazing the tub instead of pulling out the old one and replacing it with another new tub. Now the tub looks like CRAP. It looks dirty all the time because the glazing in wearing off. I should have insisted that they replace the tub since they damaged it. It really looks terrible. The second thing that really bugs me is that the inside of the kitchen cabinet doors were not painted. They are newly painted on the front but when you open the cabinets, the back of the doors are the original wood. It feels like the job was only half done. If you pay to have your kitchen cabinets repainted, they should do the entire door, not just half, right?
