What's the buzz? Union Sq Green Market is every Wednesday & Saturday. Frequent, Organic Market with lots of choices from veggies , eggs, goat cheese, fruits , raw honey , breads , fresh flowers etc. I u love fresh farm grown foods then this is the place. It's been open since 1976 & ongoing. Come out & support bc the travel from Upstate, Long Island, NJ & Philly Farms etc. I recommend this spot! I'm always happy when I come here.

I've always wanted to see the Union Square Greenmarket and I got to on a lovely Friday in late October! So nice! Beautiful produce and vendors. I left with a few apple. This was a nice surprise on my way to the subway!

A Monday at Union Square Greenmarket I'll Never Forget I wandered into the Union Square Greenmarket on a Monday and left with a heart full of joy (and arms full of sunflowers). This place is pure magic. The vibe? Electric. The smells? Fresh bread, herbs, and summer peaches. The people? Warm, passionate, and full of stories. I spent the morning browsing stalls bursting with color--crisp veggies, handmade jams, cheeses that should come with a warning label for deliciousness. I bought the most stunning sunflowers that looked like sunshine in a bouquet. But the best part came at the end of the day. One vendor was packing up, and he had a bucket of leftover sunflowers. An older woman walked by and asked how much they were. Without missing a beat, he handed them to her--for free. Her face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. She was so grateful, and he was so kind. It was one of those quiet, beautiful moments that makes you fall in love with New York all over again. If you're in the city and want to feel connected--to nature, to people, to something real--go to Union Square Greenmarket. It's not just a market. It's a mood.

This is one of my happy places. Somehow it brings me great joy to see farmers and fresh produce, cool houseplants as well as other vendors selling unique products. Came here today to pick up a lovely holiday wreath today and enjoyed the myriad of options.

This was my first time shopping at the Union Square Greenmarket. My friends posted pictures from this market on social media and that made me want to go and check it out. I shopped here this past Saturday and had a great time. There were so many vendors/ stands selling honey, mint iced tea, organic vegetables and fruits and flowers. I bought a small basket of purple potatoes for $6-7 and one bunch of Amaranths for $6 from Luna Family Farms. They look so good in my place. I'm looking forward to shopping here again so I can support these farmers. Every vendor I visited was helpful and explained all of the prices. The service was great. I wish it was a bit more organized but other than that, I loved walking to all of the stands and checking out what they were selling.

Lots fresh vegetables, flowers, bakery items you can get here. Got a brownie in Knead Love Bakery. Not gonna lie, a little pricy ($9) but wow super rich flavor. I'm overloaded with cocoa after that brownie. Ladies were very helpful and nice. They take Apple Pay.

Nice weekend shopping at the market. I was passing by to subway but because it has so many interesting stuffs at the market, so I spent about 30 minutes over there and finally got something I like. The market slowed me down from going to the place I supposed to go, LOL. The price of stuff is pretty good so I might go back one day to shop more.

Can't believe that I never wrote about my favorite green market in New York. Well here I am. Union Square is the largest outdoor green market in the city with an abundance of local farmers, nurseries, and purveyors of fresh organically grown produce, raw delicious cheeses, artisanal fresh baked goods, cured and fresh meat, seafood, pickles, jams, local honey, maple syrup, seasonal cut flowers and plants. During peak season there can be as many as 140 producers represented. **Most are cash only, a few take credit/debit cards (do check their website, below) ** ***The market is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 8AM to 6PM** Here's the Union Square Greenmarket website: https://www.grownyc.org/greenmarket/manhattan-union-square-sa Thank you so much for reading.

Beautiful day, lots of people, friendly vendors, and some of the FRESHEST and BRIGHTEST produce I've ever seen. I also got some homemade lavender/honey/lemon cuticle balm and my goodness is it amazing! The vendor was also hanging out sprigs of lavender to those that visited her stand.

Union Square Greenmarket is such a great place to get fresh produce and artisan goods. The vendors are very knowledgeable about their products and you can find some of the best qualities and deals right here. What's unique is that they're open year round and not just on weekends! They're open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 6pm! This is so awesome especially since so many other markets are open for a very limited time and season. This is an incredible market to get your local fruits, vegetables, flowers, treats, art and handmade jewelry. There was a vendor who made art from recycled materials and that was very nice to see. Overall, this market encompasses all that one may need as far as fresh produce and a fun time!

Do you have a vendor called yallitizer? They make the most delicious kefir

No, there is not a vendor by that name that sells at Greenmarket.

Do they still sell Ruis Finnish Rye Bread? I'm coming to NYC next month and would like to pick some up.

A number of Greenmarket bakers sell rye bread, but the Nordic rye baker that sold the Ruis Finnish Rye Bread no longer sells at Greenmarket.

Do some vendors sell certified organic produce?

Yes, several. Stop by! Better them than Whole Foods!

Will River Garden be returning? I haven't seen them on the list lately and I've been there on 3 separate occasions trying to buy something.

They attended market on Saturday and should be coming in regularly, this is the time of year that they are awaiting more fresh flowers to come out of the field. Stop in at the market info tent and they should have answers. In the meantime, have you… Read more

They have been written up several times by a variety of well-established publications (it is not just me) and they are also listed on the menus of some of the best restaurants in town. They are perhaps the most patient of farmers. If you are not sure or can't figure out how to pick out your fruits and vegetables, they will help you and/or teach you how to select them yourself. Any vegetable they sell seems to be best in class. Also on the list of vegetables/herbs I think they do well, includes, but is not limited to: basil, cucumbers, green beans, summer squash/zucchini (which I hated until I tried theirs) eggplant, broccoli, romanesco, pumpkin, brussels sprouts and fennel. They have recently started to weather the cold and sell greenhouse tomatoes and other winter veggies during late fall and early winter. Their veggies are better than anything you will find in the grocery store. It is worth the trip to the Greenmarket just to stop by Sycamore. From late May to November (now December) they can be found the the Union Square Greenmaket at 16th Street and Union Square East.
