He jumped right on and made the necessary repairs and I was off and running within an hour. Although they do not sell new tires they are one of the only shops that I would go to in that area for other tire related matters and repairs! It is kinda small, cramped, harder to come in and out. But it's convenient and since distances are so big within the park, it's great to have it around, as a peace of mind. Normally $5.56 per gallon gasoline prices would raise somebody's temperature over and above the recorded 134 degree high in Death Valley. Here is an example of the extremity of their fuel prices. On March 28, 2013 The Tribune talked over San Luis Obispo County having the most expensive gas in California. Their average is $4.27 per gallon. That is over a $1 less than the price shown on the Furnace Creek Chevron sign. Fortunately we filled up in Pahrump, and laughed this off as a joke. The laugh factor of the high gasoline prices at Furnace Creek Service Station are the equivalent of the high calories at the Heart Attack Grill. They might as well promote it in souveneirs that say something like "I survived the highest gas prices." Normally I would reward highway robbery (my perception) with one star. There are a couple of reasons I am rating it two stars. Having a gas station in the noman's land that is Death Valley is the better option of no gas station. The gas price sign makes a good picture. In hindsight I could of stood in front of it for a temporary profile picture. I also like a joke. Some things are so obnoxious I take it as a joke. Whenever I return to Death Valley I will fill up the fuel tank in Pahrump, Nevada or Baker California. If I fill up the fuel tank in Death Valley, the joke will be on me.
