During the inspection, Jamie found my alternator was only charging at 60%. I explained I'd have to wait since I recently lost my job, but it was accidentally replaced without my approval. I brought my 2008 Corvette to Ross Speed Shop in April 2026 because I believed they were Corvette experts. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. The first red flag was when I had to tell staff to watch a YouTube video explaining how to lower the car using the factory adjustment bolts. While the car was there, they diagnosed an issue with my exhaust cutouts and recommended a repair kit. After installation, the kit immediately scraped on normal roads and started malfunctioning within a week. I returned the car multiple times, willing to pay for whatever was needed to properly fix the problem. Instead, the issue got worse, additional vibration noises developed, and I received conflicting explanations every time. The biggest problem was communication. My car sat at the shop for three weeks, and I constantly had to contact them for updates. Most communication was handled through text messages, and weeks would pass without anyone reaching out to me. When owner Brandon later accused me of speaking poorly to his staff, I was shocked. The only thing I was doing was trying to find out what was happening with my car because nobody was communicating with me. As a customer whose vehicle had been sitting there for weeks, I believe I had every right to ask for updates. After three weeks, I was suddenly told that additional exhaust modifications were needed, something that was never mentioned in the beginning. Why it took multiple visits and weeks of delays to discover this remains a mystery. The final insult was the condition of my car when I got it back. I delivered it fully detailed and specifically asked that it be kept indoors if stored overnight. After sitting there for weeks, it was returned filthy, covered in dirt, hard water spots, and environmental damage. When I expressed concern, I was told, "This is Pahrump." To make matters worse, while I was waiting to pick up my car, another customer in a gray Dodge pickup was loudly arguing with the staff over similar problems, which I partially videoed. Watching that interaction only confirmed that I wasn't the only customer experiencing serious issues with communication, workmanship, and customer service. I actually wanted to speak with the gentleman because he was describing many of the same frustrations I had been dealing with. I was trying to support a local business and keep my money in the community, but that decision ended up costing me time, money, and frustration. I am a 58-year-old man and have never written a Yelp review before. This is my first one. That alone should say something about how strongly I feel about this experience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ross Speed Shop. Poor communication, questionable workmanship, repeated failed repair attempts, excessive delays, and a lack of accountability made this one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. read more

Brandon Ross is the worst shop owner I have ever worked with. He misdiagnosed my issue, which is fine, realized he messed up and denied the issue was still present. He claimed he test drove it 4 times with no problem. I don't believe him for a second considering it hasn't driven correctly for me since. I told him from day one what the problem was, which my new shop has confirmed. I picked my truck up, under the impression it was fixed and it failed in a mile. After I realized he had no interest in fixing the truck I picked it up again. He drove it all the way around the building in reverse, which is the only gear it worked in when it was towed there. Coincidentally it dies 300 ft from the building. His reviews are likely fake. Avoid this one. read more

After being towed in, he and his staff confirmed problem, gave me a detailed quote and with my approval ordered parts and had her fixed including a due oil change. My name is Darrin, Happy New Year everyone. I have a 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. On 1/8/26 my above vehicle began to sputter. It turns out the Coil Packs needed to be replaced. 2 of the 8 were bad. It's just best to deal w/ all of them at the same time. Ross Speed & Repair provided me a practical estimate. The value of the work, and the actual cost was reasonable for several reasons. Less than $1,000. It costed more in the long run due to the previous shop replacing the plugs w/ shitty one's and not replacing the packs. I freaking new better. The shitty service from the previous shop in Sparks. Not good. I met w/ Brandon on the 9th at approximately 2:45 p.m. Brandon provided me the necessary info needed regarding what parts were re-placed in addition to the two-year warranty on the coils, and a lot of help. No complaints. It seriously could have been worse. And the truth is, there are some disreputable shops in Sparks and here as well. Unfortunately my experience with this shop was not as wonderful as the other reviews. My vehicle was towed to Ross' for a possible engine failure. It took fours days before I received an estimate of what needed to be repaired. That was OK I know folks are busy. However when I finally received the estimate it was for a full engine replacement. I kept being told "those" engines fail and need to be replaced. Iask what diagnostics were done. They scoped the vehicle but never ran any codes. The quote was vague at best for a rebuilt engine. I had the car towed to another repair facility. They ran codes and found it was an oil control valve and I didn't not need a new engine. I went from an estimate of 10k plus other costs to $1200 for repairs. read more

ROSS SPEED AND REPAIR was a godsend for me! Nine months ago I bought a truck and travel trailer and have been on the road ever since, including catching up on maintenance and installing upgrades. I found Brandon at Ross Speed when I was looking to add a storage box to the tongue of my trailer and to upgrade the truck's diesel tank to a larger one. It was as simple as a phone call and a few text messages. Communication was excellent. The work was done promptly. They were accommodating to my constrained schedule. Even better, when Brandon did a test drive he identified the shocks as being very worn, which was news to me since the truck recently had a full inspection by a Ford dealer who failed to identify the problem. I'm always a little suspicious, so I did my research and found the shocks were originals and about 50k miles past their lifetime--they were shot! The bad shocks were the cause of bucking with the trailer. Well, the short of it is that the new shocks were a game changer for the stability and safety of my rig.
