We called AAA to come unlock the car to see if maybe they were in there. While I had the AAA technician there (from Oxnard Towing), I asked him for advice in the event we didn't find the keys. He explained the locksmithing process and then asked if I wanted a referral. I said sure, and he referred Rudy. He said he was reasonable and transparent on price and easy to get a hold of. After a little more searching, we decided to just bite the bullet and call the locksmith. I'm glad we did. A days-long stressful situation quickly resolved in like 45 minutes. Yes, seriously. I called Rudy and he picked up right away. After getting some background information, he said he needed to check his inventory and call me back. He called back within 3 minutes and was upfront with pricing. We were given two pricing structures, for out-the-door pricing. We went with the higher price (which included the key fob). I was worried that he wouldn't have availability until next week, but he said he was free now and could come right over. He was at our house within another 5-7 minutes. I greeted him, and he got started right away. I went back to work (wfh) and barely got through part of my task when I heard the car start up in the driveway. I couldn't believe how quick it was. He made sure to check the key on all key openings (driver and passenger doors, trunk, glove box). He couldn't get the key fob programmed - he even tried a different key fob but the car is old and we honestly didn't care about the fob. So he lowered the price for us to the first option pricing (without the fob). From the initial time that I called him, to the time I sent him payment (he takes cash, zelle, venmo), it was 46 minutes exactly. He was polite, quick, and obviously knew what he was doing. I can't speak to his other locksmith services and capabilities, but at least for my daughter's Corolla, it was just so easy and pain-free. Rudy is amazing and I recommend him to anyone looking for mobile locksmithing services.
