I've used his talent for over 20 years to solve difficult repair and upgrade issues on my boat where nothing is "standard". This with many sizes and forms of several kinds of metal. He can bring his equipment to my site or work in his well equipped shop. Jim sometimes tells me a better cheaper way to solve the problem than welding. He is as honest and straight forward as you can find and is a pleasure to work with. I had a table leg snap and needed it to be welded back on. Simple job really. Jim welded it back on but no extra effort made to make it match as the others. He did it while I waited so I appreciated that. A bit pricey for a 3 minute job but he was upfront with his $50 minimum. I was just too lazy to drive around and look for another place to do it. Okay so one of the floor pans on my '78 jeep cj5 was rotting out around where the roll cage went through the floor. Went to one place, told them my problem, they put it on the lift...this, that, this , that...yeah we can do it for $2300....oh, okay.....went to the next place, called ahead, guy made sure he was busy somewhere else so I waited because he'd been suggested ...and waited, finally he comes back sticks a phone to hi ear, workers look at me sheepishly. I get fed up and climb into my Jeep, he comes over, gets under looks around...$1550. thanx, I drive off. Guy in my neighborhood ( remember that word) suggests these guys for my problem.......$185 later it's finished...that's what I'm talking about!!! read more

Had 2 small steel brackets I needed to modify to mount a antique headboard to a bed. I spent the morning calling around trying to find someone who could do the modification for me. Came across Loyd's Welding, I called and left a message on the machine within 60 minutes received a return call. Took the brackets to Loyd's.
