Everything was going ok until the cupping started. I have done cupping numerous times and know how it works, is supposed to feel, etc. The glass cups she was putting on my back were extremely hot. Each time she placed a cup I would jump because it felt like it was burning my skin. I told her it was too hot, she said "no English", so in Spanish I told her it was too hot. She told me it has to be or it won't work. She laughed every time I jumped. I knew it didn't feel right, and sure enough, I have burns on my back from the heated glass. I called and told them about it, was told to text them a picture, which I did, with no response. I am going to investigate whether the massage "therapist" who did the treatment is licensed to do cupping or not. I told her numerous times it was way too hot and that it hurt. Per their site we were to receive a fancy box of chocolates, a BOTTLE of champagne (which has now been edited on the site to a glass. I am only giving this place 5 stars because it doesn't offer 10 stars on here. The place is very clean and nice inside. Very modern. The tech I got was Miriam. She was amazing. I did the body waxing and she did an amazing job this morning, She was very friendly and really knew how to do her job very well. The waxing did not hurt like some places. She really took her time and did a wonderful job. After she was done she explained to me how to keep it from breaking out a problem I have had at other places after waxing. My partner scheduled me a prenatal massage for Mother's Day today, and purchased a gift card however neither of us got a email with the gift card but the receptionist said she sees one was purchased, I was not able to go back until we found the gift card that was not emailed to either of us.. she said she could only refund me the purchase For the gift card. I ended up getting a refund and leaving without the massage because the customer service was horrible I was already 20 minutes into the massage time with no solution . How could they not find the gift card in their system but they could find the purchase for it, which was purchased a few days ago????? I would not recommended this place to anyone . Very unsatisfied. I went in hoping for a relaxing massage but instead I received a very rushed session lasting about 40 min (payed for an hour), the massaging itself was full of fast and rapid movements, as if quickly rubbing sunscreen on before running into the pool. The language barrier with the entire staff was difficult; so trying to explain what I wanted was near impossible. Furthermore,the fact that I had to pay/tip prior was not ideal and I would not have tipped the amount I did for the service received. Will not go back. read more
