My toilet valve and pipe was leaking and would definitely be worst if I waited until morning. It's 11pm and Mike still makes himself available to come to fix the leak within 30 mins. The bathroom is small and Mike was able to replace the washer and the tube within the limited space. He had to lay down on the floor and push himself between the wall and side of the toilet to use both hands. He cleaned the area and test to make sure no leak before he leaves. This is a family business and I think the price is cheaper than going to a larger plumber company. Also I want to mention that there is extra charge for service after 7pm but I still think it's fair. The call with Mike went fairly well, and the quote he gave me was reasonably priced--right in the mid-range compared to the other estimates I've received. However, after the call, I asked for his plumbing license number to confirm he's licensed, and his response was unusual. Every other plumber I spoke with had no issue providing their license number, so this stood out as a red flag. EDIT: I was under the assumption that his "sewer and drain" company was a plumbing company. I'm not a tradesperson and am not well versed in the terminology. Asking for a price estimate isn't being "smart", that's how business is conducted. He never mentioned anything about subcontractors or that they didn't do plumbing themselves. I asked for an estimate over the phone, obviously I know that that number is subject to change. You are the one that made it seem final. If the prices changes after getting a license number, that is a scam. I hired them to stop a leaky faucet for the bath tub. They had to break the tiles and replaces the pipes and faucet. I believe armando came to do the repair. Nice guy thought the job was done. A bit pricey for $1200.00 but it kept leaking downstairs. Armando came out again to re silicone the tiles. Thats why i gave 2 stars but It kept leaking. So i had to call another company and they redid the job saying that the welding was poorly done and cause the leak to downstairs. So it was a do over work. We called L and C Sewer and Drain to fix a leak under our sink. They came very quickly and identified the problem. Our 100 year old pipes were completely clogged from the kitchen into, and through our newly renovated basement. L and C explained our options and the costs. The work they did involved excavating 3 feet down into the sub floor and replacing many pipes with pvc. L and C workers came at the appointed times and were quite personable. I was quoted one price over the phone quoted the same price when he got here and saw the work. Then started the work finished the work and quoted me a totally different price it went from $325 up to $479 and proceeded to show me that it was a charge for putting the toilet back after taking it off to get to the clog. He never did, he mentioned before removing my toilet that he would be charging me more to put it back. He waited to tell me he was charging me more after all was said and done. He also told me that he would be charging me extra because when he could not reach the clog the way that he went for it initially. he had to go a different way twice yes he went a different way and it started to alleviate the clog but then the water wasn't flowing well so he used the machine again to get the water to flow well and that I was being charged more for that. I really wish I could have taken a picture of the condition he left the bathroom in it was really bad. He asked me for paper towels and asked me for a trash bag and just left them lying around in the bathroom along with all of the nastiness. However, I am able to use the bathroom, so for that, the job did get done. Everyone was truly pleasant when they spoke to me in English. so those are my pluses read more
