Loafers has really gone down hill. It use to be one of my go to spots, but with the recent rise of violence that occurs there, and the addition of a cover charge for Saturday nights (mind you, it is a restaurant, not a night club), it has become less and less desirable for me to go. The service is great. I love the bartenders and servers and I truly miss them. They are very generous with their pouring. But, it comes at a steep price. The good is good as well. There is a culture I've noticed from most Baltimore County bars. Since I'm familiar with this fact, and frequent a few bars where I'm known, I'm more patient with this process as opposed to the first timer. This is also why I waited until my second visit to review. With that said I wanted desperately to dislike this place upon my first impression. And it isn't because I'm a hater but it's just that the service was that horrendous. When I first went it took someone fifteen minutes (and I counted) to even look my way. Before long Terese walked over to me with a kind smile and took my order. I had the lemon pepper wings which were good and she made a hell of a martini. But afterwards she left me alone, to fin for myself in this vast new place. Day two was different. Although my wait was shortened to five minutes, when Jaxi, a red head bartender with a hell of a smile clocked in, she tended to me immediately. She also checked on me while I was writing and even said goodbye when I was leaving. She alone made the experience enjoyable. On my second visit my wings were cooked harder than I like but it was nothing to throw my plate across the bar for. Jaxi left out of it, management should let their bartenders know that although it's cool to take care of your regulars/friends, giving service to a new face could go along way. Both times I visited I watched as bartenders cared for "THE KNOWNS" flagging them over to be seated while leaving newbies high and dry. Been to this place a couple of times now (at the suggestion of others) and both times have been a waste of time and expense. Honestly speaking, I think its just not my scene - super loud music, big screens & a bunch of tables packed every which way. $10 cover on the Friday night that I went. The ambience inside is hectic to say the least & both times its smelled a lil pissy. Stayed for a while with my friends & had a bucket drink which wasn't terrible (good size, mixed well, nice taste). My friends ate I did not as the aroma of urine wouldn't allow me to entertain an appetite. Its usually pretty jam packed with people so somebody must like the vibe but that somebody isn't me. Stayed for a bit then made my excuses & exited stage left. I wouldn't go back, its just not my cup of tea. read more

Gotta say I really admire how management is thoughtfully responding to these reviews, kudos This is a bar you come to for drinks, not food (in my opinion)... they should probably discuss seasoning and timing with the cooks. Also unfortunately there's a really bizarre, unappetizing smell any time I come in... I'm sure that plays into the "no food here" thing for me--the bartenders are fun and mix up great fruity cocktails, I love that they have some I've never seen before. I forget the name of one I'm thinking of, it's basically a Caribbean version of a Long Island (really boozey)--it was $13 I think, but it is seriously a one-and-done kind of drink (aka, a really good deal). You gotta be careful here. This is sort of the only bar around for a couple miles, so they really have no competition... maybe that's why they haven't really needed to change up their food-game... anyways, I think they could be really successful if they figured that out. read more

I am new to the area and new to Social Media reviews such as Yelps.com. Therefore, I will get straight to the point. I work nearby Loaders and have always wanted to try it. I tried it last Wednesday during my brunch break and it was good. I ordered a dish consisting of salmon, etc. It was good and the waitress who served me was kind and warm hearted. I work nearby (construction and car sales) so I plan on coming to Loaders many more times in the future. My only complaint was that the service was Quite Slow. I was there for almost 75 minutes and by the time I got back to work I was in a little bit of trouble (but it's ok now). Additionally, I was threatened in the parking lot by a young man (but that was just a misunderstanding). All in all, pretty good experience and I Will Be Back for more! read more

CLOSED DUE TO FIRE SINCE JULY 2019. It's a shame too, cause their food is solid. Decent drink specials. Burgers, wings, and subs are all awesome. Crab quesadilla is out of this world, I always got that and the Santa Fe egg rolls. Service was usually on point. Only thing I could complain about was the sound system. Surprisingly awesome! The menu is very simple but when your plate comes out it is always a surprise. I haven't ordered anything from the menu that I didn't enjoy. The bartenders aren't very social...somewhat "mean" (not all of them but most) however they know how to make a good drink. On the weekends there is a dj there which makes the atmosphere very fun. I haven't been there during football season however I'm anxious to go! Many tvs and ample seating. The price market is about $$$ so be prepared to spend some money! However you will leave happily tipsy and full with possibly a to-go box because the portions are huge (in a good way). read more

Don't waste your time. The music is far too loud. The service is not good. We were seated on a Saturday evening, but the place was not super busy. Took a half hour to get drinks. When it came time to take our order, they didn't have the steam pots we wanted even though we were given the market prices for them by another staff member. Our waiter told us no, they aren't serving them. I'm not sure, but we went there specifically for the steam pots and it was a huge disappointment to spend 45 minutes there before finding out we couldn't get them. I ate at the new location a few nights ago over on Caton Avenue where Pargos used to be. Everything was great. So great, I went back a second time. Well, the second time I went, I sat at the bar with a friend around 5 PM. When we got our check, I noticed they added gratuity to it. Seriously! Gratuity added to a two top that early in the night?? I caught it, but my other two friends who were sitting next to us on a separate check did not catch it and hence, double tipped. I called one of them and asked if they knew their check had a tip included. he said he didn't even look. While on the phone he looked and said, "God Damn. And we left her a phat ass tip too." Needless to say, I won't go back. I was really excited about the new location, but I can't stand disrespect like that. It's one thing to add it, but it's another thing to not even bring it to our attention. And who adds a tip to parties of 2 anyway?! Really sad. Sooooooooo disappointed. Tell a friend. What follows is meant as constructive criticism for the management of Loafers. I ate at your restaurant tonight, which is Wednesday October 14th 2015. When your waitress needs to spend time finding menus that are not in bad shape, that means you should spend some money on getting new menus. The waitress was worried that we would cut ourselves on the menus. What does every customer see close up when they come in? Your menus. I asked my waitress "What is a better value, the pretzel with crab dip on it or an order of crab dip that comes with dipping bread?" The waitress told me that many customers send the crab dip back because it's not very good. Now as a manager you might not want your employees to say things like that, but instead of getting upset with her you should solve the problem instead. You should figure out what's wrong with your crab dip or you should remove it from your menu. Why is necessary to put some diced lettuce and tomatoes in the middle of plate that's covered in mozzarella sticks? Presentation is nice and all, but I don't expect it on my appetizer at a sports lounge called Loafers. Save that money and put it towards new menus. Regarding my fried chicken fingers and popcorn shrimp appetizer. The chicken was edible, but just barely. Either the fryer oil was too old, or it was cooked to long. The popcorn shrimp was horrible. I really really love shrimp, and I love fried shrimp even more but this shrimp was so bad I stopped trying to find an edible piece after I bit into 3 pieces. It was hard, the breading was too dark (old oil or overcooked) and the shrimp inside seemed raw. I took the leftover chicken fingers home and I left all the shrimp. read more

This place is a lounge and a restaurant. It gets pretty crowded and a bit rowdy during gametime..but that's expected. There are Tons of tvs so you won't miss a play. Just got off the phone with Loafers. I was trying to place a carryout order for the crab balls appetizer. I ordered them last week and they were $13.99, but the person taking my order said they were $18.99. I told her I would call back and I checked on their website. The price said $13.99. I called back and the same girl must have answered because she sounded annoyed and she called for someone else to come to the phone. Someone else told me that they, "literally just updated their prices an hour ago" and the website isn't updated. Ok. On a busy Sunday. In the middle of service. So, did they take everybody's menus out of their hands and hand them new ones in the restaurant? That doesn't make sense. read more

We decided to stop by loafers for a break. We ordered a quick lunch that turned out to be anything but. While our waitress was friendly enough at first things deteriorated when we decided our food was taking too long and asked to pay for our drinks so we could leave. Our waitress quipped about she would have to pay for the food. And said something about how she had to run the bar by herself and that either way she was F##$^ed. My food was not hot at all leading me to believe it had been sitting for awhile. I mentioned this to her and she said they were busy in the dinning room... they weren't. We were not given any napkins, salt, pepper or other condiments. We had to go get them ourselves. Of course we were also not offered any drink refills (glasses were empty before food arrived). The food was not good either and certainly not worth the wait. Perhaps the staff thinks Loafers was a description of how they should act. I actually didn't fault our waitress at first because she had no way of knowing if the food was sitting but the way she handled everything else was disappointing. read more

I went to watch the Superbowl last night (Go Ravens!) and they had a nice sized crowd. Parking was easy. I was glad, despite the crowd, to find five seats in the back corner of the bar. However, I was not impressed with the customer service at all. One of the waitresses seemed agitated whenever I made an order--maybe she was secretly a 49ers fan. As a matter of fact, the only server that seemed friendly at all was a bubbly white woman with black hair and glasses. She was very pleasant. Unfortunately, I often had to order with grumpy smurf because it was so busy. Also, the bathroom floor was extremely wet by halftime (ew). When I informed the manager, he barely acknowledged me, and when I returned to the bathroom at the end of the game--it was still disgusting. The food was equally unimpressive. I ordered the wings and my friend ordered the chicken wrap with fries. I wanted to order a side of fries, but $5 for fries? Really? You would think I was ordering pommes frites with duck fat. My friend told me I could eat some of hers, and I am glad I didn't order a side. Some of the fries were undercooked and they tasted like they had freezer burn. The mini-wings were soggy with absolutely no flavor. I ordered the medium heat wings, and it just seems like they were doused in a watered-down off-brand hot sauce. Also, I have never had a runny blue cheese sauce in my life; it was the consistency of soup. How can you mess up fries, wings, AND blue cheese sauce? I selected the place for my friends because I heard it was a good place to watch a game, and I was actually a little embarrassed that I chose it. I was also disappointed that they had no game day specials. Seems like they are loafing off of the name they built for themselves and lack of options in that location. Overall, I enjoyed watching the game there moreso because of the excitement of so many Ravens fans crowded into one place. They also had several televisions so viewing the game was not a problem. Also, I am always happy when a bar has 60 minute IPA on tap, so I was pleased with that. Ultimately, I will not be returning. read more

After a long time away I went back to Loafer's twice in one week. I was in training and had a long lunch break so Loafer's was my choice for lunch. I was alone so I sat at the bar and was promptly greeted and provided with a menu and utensils. I noticed the patio area was gone and was now inside the building as part of an expansion which gives even more indoor seating area. Service was great at the bar area during the lunch time. Even though the different bartenders was busy, I did not feel ignored. Both days my raspberry tea was refilled quickly and my food came out very timely. The first day I got the southwestern egg rolls and the next time I went back I got the chicken tenders and fries. The TV's were on ESPN channels and the jukebox was playing good music. Alright so... I've only been here once. But I had a great time. We popped in on a rainy Friday for some drinks. It was PACKED. There were people at every end of the bar and restaurant. We picked a high top table in the corner and ordered a pitcher of beer... followed by some margaritas (which were great!) and some other things... Let's just say it was a rough week at work, okay? Don't judge. A DJ started playing awesome 90's jams and my boyfriend and I were dancing our way back on memory lane. We ended up ordering burgers late night which were quite tasty. My co-workers and I stopped in to Loafers for a quick lunch as we had many times before. But on this occasion, the service was deplorable. It was terribly disappointing because we had never had a bad experience at Loafers until this particular day. Our server was a smart-mouthed, rude lady (and I use that term very loosely). It took forever for our food to come out, and after 20 minutes of waiting, our server brought us complimentary cream of crab soups. While it was a nice gesture, she served it with an attitude as if it were our fault we were patronizing her restaurant and expecting our food within a reasonable amount of time. When our entrees finally arrived, the food was not acceptable. The food was either cold, undercooked or overcooked. By this time, we had given up and decided we would just finish our soups and go back to work. When we asked our server if we could see the manager (who we watched changing fluorescent light bulbs over dining patrons), she went and fetched the bartender. OUr server all of a sudden found it necessary to clean the already cleaned table next to us while we complained to the bartending manager. She agreed to comp our meals and only charge us for drinks. When we finally left, the server stood at our table and very sarcastically thanked us for making her day. What a [bleep]. read more

Pros: Small crowd, friendly door staff, ok priced food, drink prices not too bad Cons: Limited menu, inattentive servers, mediocre music selection, no hip young vibes, gratuity added to check (which says a lot about what the ownership expects of its patrons), music too loud for a small place that is very lightly populated, long wait (30-45 mins) for food even with small crowd, not even a small dance floor, does NOT qualify as a lounge in my eyes more like a bar & grill. Lounge means you have lounge chairs and ambiance. This place is basically a boring bar. I don't think I'll go to this place again. There is nothing special about it and it can't even draw a decent-sized crowd on a Sat night. If they have takeout, I might try the crabcakes. read more

This place was really gross for multiple reasons: Someone was lifting weights upstairs during lunch time and every time they dropped the weights the building shook and there was a loud noise. When you walk in you walk past the bathroom which has a nasty air freshener smell that was disgusting. After walking past the mast bathroom we couldn't figure out if we should seat ourselves since there was no sign or hostess. Uggghhhhh I really hate to use language like this but there is really only war to describe Loafers.... Ratchet! I came here on a Saturday night with friends and my my my I almost wish I hadn't. They had blaring hip hop music so loud I think I went temporarily deaf. We ordered a few drinks some wings and fries and kept it basic. The food was ok typical bar food nothing to Sing home about... Our waitress was non existent most of the night. So we basically had our food and just kept watching the people Around us slow grind on each other.... Honestly the only saving grace here was that it's so bad it's almost comical. We basically spent the night laughing at the unbelievably horrible experience. Don't waste your time coming here... My coworkers and I were visiting the area and decided to stop In here. We were the only ones in the restaurant as they had just opened for lunch. The waitress took our drink orders pretty quickly and delivered them pretty fast too. Here's where things started to go south. It took 40 minutes for them to deliver our food!!!!! How does it take 40 mins to deliver our food when we were the only patrons there for 20 mins???? My appetizer arrived at the same time as my meal. Customer service fail number two! We did not see our server again until the end if the meal an hour later. One of my friends stated that her burger was burned on one side and she had asked for it to be medium rare. It took 1.5 hours from the time of arrival until we were able to pay and wrest ourselves free from there. Oh, and they automatically charge you a 15% gratuity, so there is no incentive to provide excellent customer service. My take away? The service was poor, the food was mediocre and the drinks were watered down. Do not come here if you are looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Favorite Happy Hour place! My family and I celebrate birthdays here! Food is always great can't never go wrong here.

While wairing to get our vehicles serviced we decided to try this place out. The service was decent, cannot complain about that, but super slooow. I ordered a bacon burger and the wife had the sliders. Fries came out piping hot which is good. Burger was cooked to order, which i wanted medium. It was more med/well and my bacon was overcooked. We were pleasantly surprised at the fact that they have DAILY happy hour specials from 11am to 7pm Yes daily and yes from 11 to 7! *fist pump* They have a pretty substantial full menu and my wife and a friend have been there before for crabs (I even think they were all you can eat) The good: The drinks... The shooters were 2 bucks they are mostly mild in liquor content and sweet but there are a few that pack a punch like the lemon drop. You can also get an Irish Car Bomb for 5 bucks! That is a dangerous combination... You've been warned. The bad: My wife and I both ordered off of the Happy Hour special menu. I ordered some wings and she had a sampler. I also ordered some cheese fries for us to share. She was a little less than impressed with her sampler. The wings were good but after a few drinks (and water, I was driving) I was full and didn't finish my wings. Bottom line: Yes we will be back. Ordered two dozen steamed crabs which they claim had to be brought out only at the same time. This caused the 2nd dozen to be cold by the time you finished the first dozen. So after seeing three negative reviews in a two week period I was quite hesitant to come here but me and a buddy needed some place close to my house with NFL Sunday ticket. We both ordered wings (old bay and honey mustard).I mean, how can you screw up wings??? The wings were cooked properly and had decent flavor. We didn't try anything entree-ish due to the reviews but we didn't hear anyone around us complaining. My girlfriend and I originally planned to go to Applebee's to celebrate New Year's Eve but it was closed so we decided to go to loafers across the street. We had always wanted to try since we pass by it often. Before we even stepped in we could hear music blasting from outside. The vibe that night was so live.There was a DJ by the bar who played some great music. It had the feeling of a club but in a restaurant which was ideal for me personally. Our waitress was nice to us and checked in every now and then but wasn't the best service I've had. Wasn't sure if she was just really busy or forgot about us occasionally. I ordered the full rack baby back ribs with fries and my girlfriend ordered broiled salmon with fries and salad. We also ordered wings, Jamaican and old bay seasoning. I really enjoyed my dish. The ribs were tender and cooked well and the sauce was really good. The fries were cooked perfectly, not too soft and not too crunchy. My girlfriend also really enjoyed her salmon. It was seasoned well and had a decent amount of flavor. The wings were decent buy not what I expected. I figured the old bay flavor would be a dry rub instead of a sauce but I expected the Jamaican flavor to be a sauce. Although that was mostly our fault for not asking ahead of time though. We ordered the steamed shrimp, crab balls and a Caesar salad for appetizers. All of which were crazy deeelishhhhh! As entrees I had the crab and shrimp Alfredo ( comes with scallops but I got extra shrimp instead), the rest of my party had jambalaya and two orders of crab legs.
