This place it near my house and I'm all about supporting the small local businesses. Their coffee is great and the selection is always changing. The lattes are also very delicious along with the selection of pastries. I'm a huge fan of the biscotti and the croissants. I also enjoy that they have a punch card. So after 8 beverage purchases, you get one free! My only complaint (and the reason for the 1 star deduction) is that one of the barristas has a little bit of an attitude sometimes. I'm a fairly-regular customer and I feel like she would at least recognize that fact, but it seems like she's just trying to get people out of the door. I used to live down he street from this place and would be in their about 3 times a week. I still frequent, but only when I am near the are passing by. The place is very clean! A nice fish tank and Free wifi. I usually get an iced tea or a regular coffee. I don't like the sugary stuff, but my friends have loved their coffee drinks. The staff is always friendly as well. They sell fabulous handmade cards for all occasions. Ohh If you go on a Sunday the lady (Susan) makes Jewelry. She may have something you like or show you how to make something. First of all, I'm kind of biased considering I know the people that work here but I try to keep these reviews as honest as I can and I'm not going to BS. This is a local coffee shop, it's got easy parking, quick service, and friendly staff. The espresso they use here is somewhat of a darker roast so your latte might taste stronger than what you're used. I usually stop in for a latte although the peach italian soda is a favorite of mine too. For regular brewed coffee they have a bunch of brews that you just fill yourself. There are some good pastries too (like the flaxseed muffin). If you're looking for a place to chill with a cup of coffee or for a small quiet meeting you should do yourself a favor and visit Loca Mocha. Tell them Simon sent you! read more

Cute, local place (not a chain, which I love). Right by the train stop, great place to go before or after work or to meet up with an old friend. They have all the normal coffee options and specialty drinks, a few fun twists, fruit smoothies, and all sorts of bakery and snacks. There are tables to sit at like a normal cafe but there are also several big, comfy chairs that are great to grab coffee and the newspaper and just hang out for a while. read more

I have been avoiding Loca Mocha for years because their coffee is truck stop quality. One desperate day in August, I stopped in and was amazed that the coffee was really high quality and decided to return! I went back again in late September and discovered that they had returned to the nasty cheap swill as before. There is a reason that the place is always empty. Stopped in here today on a whim to grab a coffee and snack. Their coffee was very good and the carrot cake/bran muffin I had was tasty too. The place was cute and had good seating as well. The only knock was the coffee selection was limited and you had to press down on the lever to get the coffee out instead of freshly poured coffee but either way it was still very good. This place would be great if they offered sandwiches and yogurt but wither way it's a good coffee spot. 4 stars for sure! read more

This place is the best coffee place around. What first attracted me was the large salt water aquarium they had at the front and when I realized it was a coffee shop I was ecstatic. I have been looking for coffee that had real umph since getting addicted to energy boosted coffee from da loop and dunkin nor starbucks was doing it for me. Loca Mocha is a WONDERFUL place to go to if you need to relax, or have a nice cup of coffee with family or friends. The workers there are so sweet ans nice. They Always have smiles on their faces. Loca mocha is also a kid friendly place. If they kids accidently spill something the workers dnt get mad, they so nice. On top of great service the coffee's and the smoothies are GREAT!!!! After going by on the train several times, I finally stopped in this May. It's convenient to Metra riders and those in the community. The service is always friendly and quick in the mornings when you need it to be. My coffee is made to order as I like it. There are plenty of FRESH pastries. Including bagels, muffins, etc. Loca Moca isn't overpriced. Sylvia and the ladies work hard but are willing to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. There's plenty of room to sit, meet with friends, do your work, wait for a train. There hasn't been a day yet I've been upset or dissatifsfied with the service or the quality of food or drink I order. It's a gem. I'd recommend it. Smiles are free from the staff too! I have gone to Loca Moca a couple times, usually when I am early for a train. The iced coffee is not that great, make sure you tell them to leave room for milk because I found the coffee to be much stronger than the type you would get at Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. The espresso is also very strong, but I find it isn't a smooth type of espresso, possibly a low quality bean I am not sure. They have every flavor of syrup available which is nice. The atmosphere in the shop is nice but every time I visit there is an uninviting smell, I am not sure if there is an open sewer nearby or what but they should look into it because I find that going into a coffee shop the smell should be pleasant. The prices are average, maybe a little above average. The pastries cost about $2 and a hot latte is about $3 or more depending on size. This is probably the only coffee shop I go to that I usually don't get an espresso based drink because I just don't like the taste of their espresso so I usually end up getting something bottled or one of their italian style sodas. read more
