We visited Folklore in Lemont yesterday and had the absolute best time. Even though the café was pretty crowded, we were still able to get a cozy table against the wall, which made the whole experience even nicer. I ordered their special Baboo Chai which has blueberry and cinnamon roll flavors, and it was unbelievable. Sweet, warm, and totally unique. My brother got a hot chocolate and an apple fritter, and he couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was. We drove a little over an hour to get there, and it was truly so worth the trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming the entire time. You can tell they really care about their customers. Even with the rush, they kept the line moving quickly and stayed warm and kind with everyone who came through the door. The whole energy of the place just felt comforting and happy. I definitely recommend visiting Folklore if you get the chance. It is one of those spots that makes you want to come back again and again for both the amazing drinks and the wonderful service. read more

Cool spot with delicious specialty drinks! My brother had been telling me how cool this spot was and sending me all the fun specialty drinks they have each month so I couldn't wait to try it. I ended up getting the coyote cold brew which as super delicious and not overly sweet or milky, but you could still totally taste the banana. My brother also got a specialty drink and enjoyed it. Love the fun theme here as well, will have to come again sometime when I'm in town! read more

Folklore Coffee is a small independently owned coffee shop in downtown Lemont. It's adorable, tucked away just past Barrel and Vine. The vibe is modern and Bigfoot which is fantastic. The shop is quite small though and only has a handful of seats which can fill up on the weekends. No table service, order at the counter which is not a big deal. The counter person was pleasant and helpful. They'll call your name when your beverage is ready. The muffins were pretty tasty, but the coffee and machta drinks were both just okay. Since moving to Illinois from Seattle, I've been struggling to find coffee shops that I resonate with. Folklore Coffee is the first shop I found that I can confidently say I'll be a regular at. I really like the vibes of the nature/woodlands centric interior the cafe is going for. It's painted in a nice dark green color accompanied by furniture made out of darker wood (walnut? I don't know my wood types). The plants adorning the back wall and the forest wallpaper located near the booth seating really pushes that whole feel. The coffee is pretty good. Usually with coffee you just kind of hope a cafe hits a bare minimum so it doesn't taste bad, but I actively enjoyed the different drinks I've tried here (namely the latte and cortado, both were solid). All that aside, the people here are really friendly :). Props to the barista who ran me through the pastries (didn't catch a name). Seems like this place is a popular hangout spot for the local community, and that speaks volumes on how they conduct themselves. read more

Super cute coffee shop. Mythical/bigfoot themed. I've tried some seasonal selections and every coffee and tea has been outstanding. My only gripe is that both times I've gone they were out of pastries. Once was a Friday afternoon, the other was a Monday at 1 pm. Oh well, I'll try them eventually. This most recent time the girl at the counter gave me a pup cup for my cat who was on her way to the vet and throwing a fit. I came here at 11 am with a friend. It's a small coffee shop, so it was rather busy and loud. That being said, we decided to walk around downtown with our coffee. Service took a while, but like I said it was busy. I decided on an iced sugar free Carmel latte. It was good, but very espresso forward (I typically like my iced lattes a little sweeter). My friend had the iced lavender honey latte, which was even stronger than mine! She couldn't finish it all. So be aware that the drinks are stronger than you would maybe expect. Love stopping in Folklore to grab drinks and snacks. We walk our dog weekly & we stop in to try the specialty espresso drinks. They're well crafted & so yummy! The baristas are friendly & the service is quick with a smile . We even get a pup cup for our dog Daisy . It's a charming little nook nestled in between the vintage buildings of downtown Lemont. I love a good local coffee shop! Plenty of parking nearby and in the lot across the street. I came in on a Saturday at 11am and it was very busy with people hanging out enjoying their coffee. I liked the vibe of the coffee house. Cute merchandise, friendly, and cozy. They had specials displayed next to the register. I had the "someone in lemont loves you" which was a sweet caramel and cookie butter latte. I liked it. I want to try some of the other flavors they also had listed. read more

I don't know even where to start. The owner Tess was a delight and so chipper! She knew names of all her guest and it was such a neighborhood feeling. The coffee shop is a year old but you would think it's been around for a while with how well known it was by their guest. The coffee was superb! The place is a bit on the smaller side with two small tables up front by the windows that overlook the awesome trains as they go by! There is also some bench seating on the wall for high top laptop/workers and benches and small tables on the back wall. This is a must stop place in Lemont! Inside is very quant with a reasonable amount of seating. They had a large amount of syrups to choose from as well as some great seasonal option. I ordered the Honey Lavender Latte as the woman working highly recommended it and said it was their signature. The staff was extremely sweet and made small talk with me till my drink was ready. The ambiance and mythical creature theme is well done. High points of decor and artwork are paintings of bigfoot, mothman, jackelope, and the lochness monster. Other interesting esoteric artwork on the fun side fills the place. Games are available including a Bigfoot tick tac toe game. I ended up buying a bag of their house blend for use at home. It was outstanding. Me and my friend wanted to go there in the evening and we are so glad we did! I grabbed the Love loose tea and it was delicious. It was a sweet floral and I fell in love. I also grabbed the cinnamon roll/bun and the dough was so fluffy and the glaze on top wasn't too sweet. The ambiance was so chill and I will definitely be back here to do some writing and studying.
