Terrible Experience, Avoid Locafella Loc Studio I recently visited Locafella Loc Studio with high hopes of receiving quality service and professional care for my locs. Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be an absolute nightmare, leaving me deeply disappointed and frustrated. First and foremost, the customer service at Locafella Loc Studio was abysmal. The staff members were incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment I walked through the door. It seemed as though they had no interest in assisting customers or providing any form of assistance. Their lack of basic courtesy was genuinely shocking. Moreover, the overall atmosphere of the studio was far from inviting. The space was poorly maintained, with a noticeable lack of cleanliness. The waiting area was cluttered and unkempt, making me question the studio's commitment to hygiene and professionalism. Furthermore, the appointment scheduling system was a complete mess. Despite booking my appointment well in advance, I was kept waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. The staff seemed disorganized and incapable of managing their schedule efficiently, which resulted in an unnecessary waste of my valuable time. When it finally came time for the service, I was utterly disappointed with the results. The stylist lacked the necessary skills and expertise to handle my locs properly. The hairstyle I requested was executed poorly, and I left the studio feeling dissatisfied and embarrassed. To make matters worse, when I expressed my concerns and dissatisfaction to the staff, they showed no interest in addressing the issue or rectifying the situation. Their dismissive attitude and refusal to take responsibility for their subpar service were beyond frustrating. Considering the exorbitant prices they charge for their services, I expected nothing short of excellence. I cannot say enough good things about Jasmin and everyone at Locafella's. I found this location right here on Yelp after looking for somewhere to take my son to get his locs started. We have been coming here since January and we will not be going anywhere else. My son is on the spectrum and he hates having his hair done. All his life this has been a struggle. I have either cut it bald myself or let him grow an Ice Cube fro LOL. Eventually he decided he wanted to try locs. I knew I needed a place where he could feel calm and someone who would be gentle. I started by contacting Jasmin on instagram to let her know my concerns before booking and to get some information on the process and upkeep. She was very kind and took the time to talk to me about everything before I booked my appointment. When we arrived for our appointment we found the location to be clean, quiet with lovely music playing, everyone was welcoming and it was nice and cool inside even with the heat outdoors. My son sat for Jasmin for all the hours it took to get his hair done and did not cry or squirm ONCE! This may not sound like a lot to some people, but this was a first for me. I literally cried and hugged Jasmin when she was done. This woman has a beautiful spirit which shines through and even my son could tell he was in good hands. Her work is also immaculate, his hair came out great as you can tell from the pics. Everyone else at her studio is also awesome. Though Jasmin does not keep many hours at this location anymore we are still able to get appointments with her here as the other location is a little to "busy" for my son and he feels more comfortable here (plus he likes going to the cookie shop down the way lol). Once when we weren't able to get an appointment with Jasmin at at time that fit our schedule I made an appointment with someone else and then screwed up by putting in my calendar at the wrong time so I showed up two hours late (doh!). Everyone was so kind! They not only comforted me for being an idiot, but another loctician stepped in and did my son's hair during her break between clients! And she also did an awesome job. Very impressed with this establishment!! From the moment I walked through the door You can feel such an amazing vibe!!!! After months of trying to find a Loctition who can take on my hair I finally found the right one!!! From start to finish Brittney was so kind!!! To say she's talented would be an understatement!!!!!!! Her work exceeded beyond my expectations. When I first sat in her chair I didn't have a clue what I wanted. Any great stylist should be able to create something great without hesitation. And she did just that not once did I give her a picture to look at, nor did I give her any suggestions. I'm new to the area and was looking for a new place and person for my hair and I found it with Locafella Loc Studio. I first walked in to a great positive atmosphere of friendly people, everyone is always laughing and having a good time there. They had a live performance that I got to see while I waited which was really cool. The amazing artist that I got blessed with was Abrion Tucker, AB was super nice and great to talk to the entire time and she did an amazing job on my head, couldn't ask for more, it's perfect. I normally just let my dreads fall and don't do much to them, but she recommended a design that was beyond my expectations when I first walked in and looks amazing. I'm thankful that I went to this shop. They even have a barber in shop, CJ, who can cut perfectly, and is also great to talk to like everyone else in the shop. Feels like a family hangout in this shop, what's better than a place that makes you feel comfortable like being with family and gives you the best possible service at a very, very reasonable price? As consumers, we carry a certain expectation. That expectation can be exaggerated or underestimated... Booking my appointment for loc extensions carried a moderate expectation with me, mainly with price, something I will elaborate on later. My expectations were not only met, but I now have a new found expectation when it comes to receiving services for locs. The quality of service I received was/is unmatched! AB not only went above and beyond in customer service, but obliterated my understanding in the art that is locing! AB was fun, understanding, patient, and most important, cared about how I felt/looked. The price/money for the loc extensions was not the motivating factor in the quality of service AB provides. She is genuinely a passionate person in her art of locing. If you want loc extensions, regardless of your reasoning, see AB. She will do you beyond right. I found locafella by luck & haven't went to anyone else since. My fiancé needed a retwist for a important event & his beautician canceled on him last min. I just knew I had to find someone fast! I searched all through Instagram, Facebook & Google & the same shop kept coming up so I knew it was a sign. So I decided to look into them. When I got on their website they had two locations one in LA & one in Fontana. I gave the one in LA a shot due to that being the closest. Well my hair was in very bad condition before coming here to Locafella. Had thoughts about cutting it earlier this summer until a friend had introduced the business to me in august. Ever since I started coming here to Locafella, my stylist Abrion and and all the other staff were very kind and reassuring about my hair. They were very clear of what needed to be done, told me the damage, we explored several options about what could be done to achieve my desired look. They're very understanding to my school and work schedule as well. They always have the best interest in your hair . Professional service ,making sure you leave every visit more than satisfied. My locs have came a long way from where they used to be in just 3 months by staying consistent with AB about hair care . She even wrote instructions on what I could do to maintain my crown . Honestly... I did not expect to come across locafella loc studio while searching for a loc repair, but I'm so glad I did! The place I had been to before had permed my straight hair trying to turn them into locs and when my straight hair grew out the same place couldn't fix it. I was stressing out thinking I was gonna have to cut it all off and I've been to countless places & no experience has ever felt like this. I walked in today expecting the worst... but after the the session I can say this has to be the best service I've ever encountered from start to end. Here you'll definitely be taken care of the entire process was so smooth & professional I will definitely be back for my loc journey! I have now been going to Loca Fella since they opened, I've been following my Stylist Brittney where ever she goes for 3 years now as of February. Every time, every experience , anytime I pull up Brit show out goes above and beyond and make me feel comfortable and safe with my locs. Not only her but the whole Staff you walk in and feel welcomed by Jazz (owner) Nesha (stylist) and Meek (stylist) just to name a few. I love that I can walk in feeling crazy cause I look crazy and walking out feeling like a million bucks because Brit she don't miss, or it may be a conversation going on that feeds my energy and recenter my vibe. I had the good fortune of having the Owner/Master Loctitian Jasmin become my stylist. The ambience and atmosphere of the Fontana location was inviting and relaxing. All the Loctition's are creative experts. I felt welcomed and appreciated. I get compliments all the time. She went over the procedure, preparation, maintenance, which locs to purchase from a reputable business and answered any questions I had. My hair turned out great. She is very knowledgeable, precise and flexible. She was able to re-create a design from a picture I provided to her which I loved by the way and I have since booked all my re-twist appointments with her. On May 17th, 2022, I visited Locafella Loc Studio's Fontana location for an appointment with Nesha Payne (@styledbyneshap on Instagram). The studio is easy to get to and accessible just off the 15 freeway with free lot parking. Upon entering the shop, I was impressed by the ambience (lighting, decor, music, and condition of each stylist's stations). The service I received from Nesha was phenomenal. From her asking me my gender pronouns to the timeliness and quality of her work, I was satisfied with my visit. I recommend visiting Locafella Loc Studio for your loc hair care needs and to feel a sense of community while being serviced. I've had a retwist twice here at Locafella and I was satisfied both times. Thank you to Erin! She does wonders. I have always felt welcomed by all the staff. They are friendly and extremely clean. They compromise and genuinely work with you and I appreciate that the most. It is difficult to find good Locticians let alone, salons who do a great job when it comes to retwisting, designing, or washing locs. Everyone in this salon is a Goddess. Literally. All talented. Thank you Locafella for such an amazing experience with my daughter Anisa Bowen and her starter locs. Jameka you were so kind, patient and answered all our questions from the beginning of the process to the end. The atmosphere is so comfortable , from offering refreshments to playing great music. We felt like we were at home with family. I appreciate you all letting my sister Tiffinee, brother-in-law Chris and my cousin Nani observe the process. AB was funny and kept the music going . Omg, this is the place to go for any loc maintenance and/or haircut. I went and let my loctitian, Icey, know what I wanted. She gave me the color I wanted as well as the retwist, and style that I wanted. The owner Jasmine was there and she was the sweetest, kindest person ever. The guy doing the haircuts in there is a beast, as well and they all treated me with respect and I felt really comfortable. I recommend this place a a thousand times over. The appointment was also quick and straight to the point. There were a couple of other employees there and they were just as awesome. I just love this place!!!! read more

Today was my first time visiting this establishment. My very first impression was (NICE) the vibe was amazing. Everyone was so very professional. I was extremely pleased with the service. If you're looking for a loctician I highly recommend this place. It's clean and I promise you will not be disappointed. I've been on my loc journey for over 10 years and have never found a place that made me feel so welcomed the way I felt at Lockafellas!! May God continue to bless and prosper this business!!! !! They asked me upon arrival who we were scheduled with and we replied that we had an appointment with a lady named Shante. They told us she hadn't arrived yet but she'd be arriving soon. I didn't mind because I was 30 mins early. 11am rolls around and still no Shante. At 11:30 another employee asks who we were waiting for and after telling her, she replies with "Shante ain't coming today". They offer to have another lady complete the services and after an additional 35 mins they start the wash and blow dry. Thinking this was the going to be a quick process, I walk to my car to do some work and about 30 mins later I come back inside to check the status and my daughter is sitting in a chair with a blowout with no guidance on next steps. Finally another young lady lets us know to come sit in her chair to flat iron. We were there for 3.5 hours for a flat iron. My daughter missed her ASB award ceremony that she was supposed to attend immediately after her hair appointment, but she made it to the dance. Overall, this place is unprofessional, unorganized, and I would never suggest it to anyone with a pulse. Also, not one person in that place apologized for the AWFUL experience. I'd give it a 0 if I could.
