Sadly kind of a disaster. Have been coming here for over 10 years. There were only 3 orders ahead of ours, but the food still took 40 minutest to come out. When it did, the chicken tenders were cold and the chicken was tough, and was missing half the breading, like these were scraps they gave us. All three burgers were cold. Asked for buns toasted and they came out burnt black. Paid for grilled chiles on the burgers, they all came out with no chiles. They have a nice lineup of preconfigured burgers - the teriyaki seems to be a local favorite - or you can build your own. The best is that you can have a beef, turkey, or veggie burger with any style. Unfamiliar meat sometimes sends me running to the baño and I still had a 3 hr drive up to NH. So I opted for the Farmhouse style burger with a veggie patty. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, and our house maple mayo. I told you maple is my fave flavor. Excellent decision - the server even complimented my choice lol. The veggie patty was homemade with mushrooms and other grains - texture was elite and the umami was palpable throughout. It also didn't fall apart in my hands as other veggie patties are prone to do. I also got an order of fries but this is completely a place where you could get a burger and skip the sides and be satisfied. My dining companions were more in the know in this area so we shared the fries. Free refills too which thrilled me to no end as I strongly dislike nickel and diming on drinks. Parking can be a challenge in this town - but since it's Pride Month the rainbow gods were shining on us and we found 2 spots right next to each other just around the corner from the spot. The food here is absolutely amazing and fresh. The staff are always friendly and the environment is very welcoming. What stands out about this branch is their hospitality towards city employees. I hadn't been to local burger in years so stopped in with several friends on a chilly night. I chose the kimchi burger which was pork, kimchi, garlic, ginger, scallions, coated with panko bread crumbs and deep fried with greens and a seasoned mayo. The burger had that pork resiliency if that makes any sense and the mayo was a great accompaniment. I personally didn't get any kimchi flavors. We shared an order of the poutine which was good. The easthampton location was very helpful and kind. They advised we would be getting a refund and an email regarding said refund. A full 24 hours later no email. So my fiancé tried reaching out to the owner Jeff who ignored the message. He only responded when my fiancé posted an honest review. Even in the owners response it's clear that this restaurant can't handle criticism or complaints well and responds harshly to both. Keep your money. Honestly want a good burger and are ok with a drive? Go to White Hut, go to Five Guys, go to a local diner. If you get one of the signature burgers, make sure you have time for a nap....especially if you have a large order of fries to accompany it. And a milkshake! Which! is absolutely stellar. Last time I visited Local, I was in college and probably not in the soberest of states. Today, I visited almost a decade later, was incredibly sober, and am happy to state that the food still slaps. The Cap'n Crunch chicken tenders are a must-try.... subtle sweetness, ingenious creation. The fried pickles are juicy yet ultra crispy, piping hot and served with some solid ranch for dipping.
