    Juicy Lucy

Went to the easthampton local burger for lunch with a friend. Located in an old mill with high ceilings and large open spaces. Always a challenge to decide what type of burger I wanted to eat. We shared an order of onion rings that were impressive in size. Large thick slices of sweet onion covered in batter and fried to a golden brown. Served with chipotle ketchup and of course piping hot. They were definitely good as presented but needed salt. After a couple I was kind of wishing for more seasoning in the breading. Maybe some Cajun seasoning? Not quite sure. They were also really heavy. Wondering what a tempura type batter would be better result being lighter? Not sure. Anyway my juicy Lucy arrived and was impressive in size. Very good burger with molten cheese in the middle and served with lettuce tomato and onion. Great outdoor grill flavor and a nice brioche roll. Know what would take this from a 8 to a 10 for me? Give me a few choices on what cheese goes in the middle. A pepper jack or smoked Gouda would push this baby over the edge. I'd even consider paying an up charge for this option. Over all a decent lunch with a decent value.

Left hungry. I took my sister who was back from FL to eat on Sunday. Food was good. We always loved riffs. Seems like they have tried to keep the menu similar. The spicing margaritas were delicious however my chopped salad was so small I left hungry and it barely covered the bottum of the bowl. For 20 dollars that bowl should be full. Also everything with the burger is al a cart. In a place where your buy drinks also that has a 100% markup on alcohol they should at least serve homemade fries or homade chips or side salad while dinning in. Meh I will give it one more try but don't skimp on food for the prices your charging for a burger or salad. Photo below was borrowed from another customer bowls are very shallow and theirs barely skirted the bottom also.

Our family was excited to try the new Local Burger in Easthampton, which is located in the former Riffs location in Eastworks. At this point it had been open for about a month so we figured it had been enough time to work through any kinks in service. We arrived at about 5:30 on a Friday. There are two areas you can sit - we sat in the bar side which is a little nicer than the walk-in/out orders side. Our waitress promptly took our orders. We were happy with the nice selection of beer on tap as well as cocktail choices. Our daughter got a milkshake that she really enjoyed. We tried two types of fries and both were very good - nice and crispy but a tad under salted so we added salt . Our burgers were delicious and we were happy with the various options. Meat was nice and juicy and the "local sauce" was yummy. We will definitely be returning for more!

When we went in for a tasting, we had lunch first. The Bbq pork sandwich was one the best sandwiches I've ever had. We also got a tuna melt and a quiche which were both delicious. When Daisy came out with the cupcakes for us to try they were so helpful and I felt so confident that they would make everything run smoothly for delivery and set up at my venue. The cupcakes were beyond any expectation. The lavender cake was delicious, better than any other floral cake I've ever had. My fiancé who is a frosting critic couldn't get enough. I've tried a few other bakeries in the area and this cake blew them away. We are going back tomorrow to pick up more pastries to bring home. While the place itself is small, the staff was incredibly welcoming and it was a very comfortable lunch. Thank you Small Oven!!

The bread itself is average to above average depending on the loaf of the day. But its consistently troubling issue is the large amount of flour caked on and baked on the outside of the loaves. They use an extreme amount of flour on the raw dough as a release from their baking baskets, and after the bake they just leave it all stuck to the loaf. When I bring a loaf home I often spend a few minutes smacking it and scraping it over the sink where I dislodge so much raw flour from the outside of the bread. Sometimes there's a rind of undercooked flour cemented to the outside of the loaf. This is wildly unacceptable.

Delicious!! Nicely buttered roll with so much lobster you have to eat some of it before you can even pick this roll up. And not just claws like some places this was all solid lobster meat. $30 with fries- wish we remembered to opt for the onion straws (next time). Lobster was tender and flavorful with not an over abundant amount of mayo just the tiniest bit to hold everything together and it was tender, flavorful, and overall delicious. Arnold Palmer wasn't powdered lemonade either, it was perfectly fresh and not overly sweet. Then shop at the Amazing food co-op next door. Looking forward to our next trip here. Looks just like the many pics already posted.

We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

Reading my old review, I was all about the coffee and breakfast sandwiches and that still holds true, but this most recent trip was a big batch of bagels. As a Jersey girl, my standards are high but Tandem met them all once again. We were stopping by family for breakfast so we preordered a variety bag of a dozen bagels. Everything from salt to French toast was in the mix so there was something for everyone. We also got a tub of the plain cream cheese and a tub of the veggie cream cheese, both were gone almost immediately. We (luckily) preordered ahead of time. If you are stopping by on a weekend morning, this is the way to go. It was a madhouse, and I am sure it moves quick, but it was amazing to just pop in, grab our bag and head out. If you're craving a bagel, this seems to be the place to go.
