My business partner and I reached out to Aftermath Services for help with the unattended death cleanup. The cleanup itself met my expectations; however, issues with Aftermath Services arose afterward. Susan, a representative from the company, contacted me directly regarding complications with my mother's homeowner's insurance. The insurance company was questioning the costs charged by Aftermath Services. Instead of negotiating directly with the insurance company, Susan chose to involve me just weeks after my mother's death, when I was still deeply grieving. After the insurance payment, I was unable to forward the funds because they were all in my mother's name and I was in the midst of the probate process. Despite this, Susan continued to pressure me for payment, even threatening to send my invoice to collections. I had to involve my estate attorney to manage her communications. Once I was officially named the executor of my mother's estate, I promptly paid Aftermath Services. In hindsight, I expected a company specializing in unattended death cleanup to be more empathetic and to understand the complexities and time required for the probate process. I would recommend the company to evaluate their customer service's policies and procedures through a more human-centered lens in the future.

At no point did anyone from their team say they couldn't handle the job. When I got home after the first cleaning, it was obvious the rug still smelled strongly of cat urine, like nothing had been done at all. They sent another technician the next day, who admitted after a closer look that they likely couldn't clean the rug properly in the first place. That means they had multiple chances to be upfront and professional: when I booked, when they came the first time, and before they charged me. Instead, they wasted my time and money. When I asked for a refund for the rug cleaning, management refused. The manager even had the technician confirm on speakerphone that the rug wasn't properly cleaned--and still denied a full refund. They only offered $40 out of the $140 bill, then rudely said "take it or leave it," and when my husband pushed back, the manager said "then I'll give you nothing" and hung up. This company is both incompetent and rude. They clearly don't care about customer service or honesty. Do not hire Stanley Steemer unless you want your rug left dirty and your time wasted.

My insurance company set me up with Sure Kleen but then ended up paying me out so I could hire anyone I wanted. They came out in October to give me an estimate and I had to keep rescheduling them for months until the plumbing was resolved. I got two other quotes that were both over double what Sure Kleen quoted. Every time I called to reschedule they got me in within 48 hours. They were finally able to complete the job in January. I was expecting to pay more because there was more water coming in every day and there was definitely more damage than when they originally came in. From Mandy in the office to Vince in scheduling to AJ doing the actual job and Elijah picking up the equipment and doing the final readings, I have had the most exceptional service. The job ended up taking two days and they were just perfect in every way. I will use them again when I'm ready to get my drywall and floors replaced without a thought. This whole plumbing issue has been such a nightmare but Sure Kleen was the only bright spot. Cannot recommend enough!

Initial intake and scheduling was very responsive. While…read morethe pricing was comparable or slightly higher than other companies specializing exclusively on removals, cleanup, and decontamination of biohazard or other extreme property conditions, the intake process provided a better sense of trust in this local, family owned company to ensure removal of furnishings/carpeting/linoleum flooring/textiles from a residential property with years of accumulated respirator level dust, etc. Once the project started, it seemed the Company is stretched thin with high demand, and there were other factors related to actual hours worked and staff performance (minor observations from staff not having or using even paper protective masks, to accidents related to loss and breakage of a few client items) I shared these concerns directly with the Company. I also indicated my understanding how this was really hard work in really hot weather conditions : not easy for anyone. The Ownership/Management was apologetic but did not reduce the charges on my additional invoice, and suggested I call them so they could return to correct any issues I identified and they acknowledged as their own. I let them know I was not available to schedule and ended up using a different level of cleaning company to get the house deep cleaned again (non biohazard) to prepare to paint, etc. Despite some of those type of disappointing incidents I encountered, I would recommend and probably use again, especially for rapid response needs
