A technician came to my home today unannounced to do our "spring service", which would be fine, except we have a newborn and my wife was breastfeeding when the tech knocked. I was not home at the time and my wife put me on the phone with the tech who apologized and said "you were probably sent a confirmation via text or email. It looks like it's been a busy week for you though so no worries if you missed it". I did not, in fact, miss any confirmation, since none was sent. When I called Cowleys to inquire what happened, they said they don't actually confirm these visits - they just show up?? But then why would you knock on my door if you don't need anyone to be present? This is WILDLY unprofessional behavior - not just showing up unannounced with chemicals in a home with a newborn, but then trying to gaslight me for your lack of communication. The entire phone call felt like the rep was annoyed at me and she did absolutely nothing to help beyond adding me to a "list" where they would notify me to confirm future visits. I've received confirmation from them in the past, so I don't know what happened on their end, but I cancelled my service with the rep immediately. What a waste of money this whole ordeal was. You have to call at the end of the month or the auto renew your contract even though you tell him 20 times with the emails that you don't want their services anymore. tell your phone people to get their info correct. one person is telling me they can put a payment on hold because of YOUR mistake, the other is saying i would get no service and have to push it back a few weeks. all because of the AWS outage (that she said Cowleys never has but I literally had to read her the email) never had my auto payment go through so now I have to double pay. Updates that were supposedly going to be sent out after it was back up never got sent out. emails or even a phone call never sent about payments not going through not sent out the day it was discovered, only an invoice three weeks later. Contracted with Crowley's Pest Services to trap groundhog that was burrowing around our home's foundation. Based on price, $895 plus tax, I thought the 5 days of service would surely produce results; was totally wrong--- zero results. Groundhog still roaming around. They added 1 extra day of service following the 5 days that produced nothing and trapped a harmless squirrel. A thousand bucks down the drain; felt like a scam, but probably was more of a competence issue. I'd never use Crowley's again and definitely would not recommend them to others. read more

We have used Cowleys for a number of years and had none of the issues described in other reviews. We had a technician yesterday and he was excellent. He was knowledgeable, courteous and detailed with his explanation of the services and assured us the product being utilized would not be harmful to our pets. Lux was on time and actually called us 15 minutes before his arrival and neat, clean cut and pleasant. I can honestly say we have only had good experiences with Cowleys and staff. read more

We were having a squirrel problem in a joint soffit with our neighbors. The access was on the side, so they took the lead on hiring someone. We were informed that Cowley's would be out to "Do the job". When an employee arrived, he did not give his name. He told me then that the animals "Probably don't have much more time in there" and he was only here for an estimate but could maybe do the job next week. I told him that I received an email the night before that he would be completing the job. Rather than speaking to me, He RUDLEY told me that he isn't the one that does the schedule. When he left, I asked his name, and he told me for the 2nd time to talk to my property manager... being that I am a homeowner I do not have one of those! I can't say enough about the great work Cowley's did on helping to resolve my issues with yellow jackets. The customer service operator was great and friendly and knowledgeable technicians came over the same day when the outside yellow jackets found their way in and stung my dog and my husband. They were able to remove the nest - which was actually in my kitchen ceiling and even taped up plastic around the hole. Their techs are adequate. They misidentified the entry point of a squirrel incursion into our attic, which was subsequently fixed by a handyman. They put out poison bait stations for mice, but I could have done that myself. They also fast-talked us into a ridiculously expensive year long contract, which we could not extricate ourselves from, for a tech to come out and check the bait stations every month. these people are the worst. i spent thousands of dollars for a termite treatment. now, years later, i'm required to pay them hundreds of dollars a year for a service plan (otherwise, the original treatment plan will no longer be valid) and when you try to call - and spend 5 minutes on hold - the rep tells you that the service department will have to call you back. use anyone other than cowleys to protect your home! read more

I called them about something in my attic. From the size of the entrance they determined it was a racoon. They put up a trap and then eventally sealed the hole. The seal was easily broken and I had racoons 3 times. At the 2nd visit from Cowley's I asked them to check the attic. The tech said he had no time to do that and he never had the time. Wow. The 3rd time the racoons came back I called another firm. They went into the attic and documented the damage. It was HUGE. All insulation had to be removed, the attic disinfected, installation replaced and the entry points closed with strong seals that should be harder for the racoons to get through. Had Cowley's actually checked the attic I may have been able to save on the huge remediation that was eventually needed. read more

Had raccoons in our garage. Called them for service. They were there within 3 hours. They set traps, caught and removed all the critters. They were very knowledgeable and professional. It has been 2 months and still raccoon free. They certainly know what they are doing and very professional. read more

I have a contract with them and paid in full...now when I call I get a 3rd party service to give them a message. Over a week waiting and no call back, not getting the service I already paid for! And it's realy bad when I call and the 3rd party sevice tells me they can't get in touch with them either...and by the way called many times no responce and called during regular hours when they should be there!!! read more

EXTREMELY overpriced. Someone comes out and does a home check and that alone is around $100 then they set traps and leave them only for a week and that costs $600 EVEN IF NOTHING IS TRAPPED. BUT if you say you something along the lines of I only have seen a raccoon then guess what? If an opossum or anything else is in the trap they charge ANOTHER $100 because it is not the "target" animal. They also try to release it in your backyard. Can't wait for this week to be done. We had a raccoon in our attic. The customer service was very responsive in setting up a time to come. Our technician Stephon placed traps and it was caught right away. We weren't sure if the raccoon had babies. But she did. They came back and were able to remove the three pups who were in a hard to reach place. They got the pups and didn't have to cut any drywall. They did great and if needed, would use their service again! Though I hope we never need them again. read more

After realizing we had a pretty big mouse problem, I called and had someone from Crowley come out. The price seemed reasonable and the tech was a nice guy. However, aside from putting down a few traps and bait stations, they did nothing to try to get to the root of the problem. They said they had to send someone else out for that. So a few days later someone else came and again made no attempt to locate the source of the problem and quoted me $11,000. to change all the insulation in my attic. First - I received two other quotes for the attic for $6,000 and $7,000 so Crowley is ripping people off and second - we didn't even wind up needing to do the attic. We searched a bit and found a hole in the garage the mice were getting to the basement from. We sealed it up and no more mice. I know every situation can't be as easily solved, but I would NEVER use a company like Crowley. Their price for the attic was outrageous. UPDATE 9/18/20 - Although Crowley commented that they were going to reach out, I never received a call from them. And now they are saying I contacted them and they resolved the issue and that is absolutely not true. I have not spoken to anyone from Crowley. They are a completely dishonest company. read more

I have used this company in the past and they were great. Seems like a different company 5 years later. I hired them to catch a raccoon which I knew was going to be easy to get. Wondering now if they released it far enough away. 3 days later, raccoon is back. They now use an answering service that is supposed to relay any concerns , no one called back. They are supposed to rebait and relocate traps every other day. On the last visit, no new bait or reposition of any traps. $633 later still have raccoons. There are better companies for way less. read more

I think this was once a well-run company. We had an insect problem several years ago and everything went fine. Last year we had mice, the mice came back months later and so I gave Cowley's a call. After a consultation (no inspection) I was offered a solution and a contract for $600 for traps every three months for a year. It seemed high since I'd already paid them once to solve the problem, but I needed to deal with the problem.A few days later someone called but left no message on my voice mail. I realized we'd discussed the activity on the outside but no mention of the inside. I called and spoke to a woman who told me of all that would be dealt with at 5:30 on Friday, but no one showed up. I called the next day and was told I was speaking to an answering service and someone would call me from Cowleys. Later, a woman called, who proceed to repeatedly talk over me and repeat herself in an unpleasant manner. I told her to cancel my contract.This was a three-strikes situation:1. The original job last year failed to solve the problem.2. Failure to show up at an agreed time.3. Poor customer service. read more

We contacted Cowleys "Little Rascals" because we had/have 3 groundhogs in our backyard. They are generally not aggressive but they have become so comfortable on our property that they come onto the deck and scratch at the screen windows. We have a young child. I had called on a Monday but they weren't able to have a technician come out until Wednesday however, as it turned out, they didn't end up coming until Thursday. The technician was nice and seemed knowledgable. We agreed to the contract and paid $634. We knew the risks involved included not catching the groundhogs. The following day we had not 3 but 4 groundhogs sprinting, eating and lounging all over the yard. When I made noise, they ran off but came back within minutes to do the same. I called and someone came out to change the bait. The next day, the groundhogs were out again. The technician stopped out twice more (every other day). Both times, the traps were empty. Today marks the 6th day of our contract and when my husband went out to check them himself, the traps were gone. The company had removed the traps without knocking to notify us, suggesting another course of removal or asking if we wanted to extend our contract since the attempt was unsuccessful. Nor have we received a call from the technician, office manager or owner. And, as of this writing, we have groundhogs lounging on our pool chairs. We are completely and utterly dissatisfied with this service. The cost was high, we knew we had a 50/50 chance but the unprofessionalism Little Rascals displayed was absolutely appalling, considering how much money they made from us just to put out a trap and drive here to check it a few times. I contracted Cowleys in April 2015 to install the Sentricon monitoring system. The house was previously treated when I purchased the house in 1997. I noticed termite damage on the interior wall of the family room. I also noticed some damage by the outside shed. I contacted Cowley's to inspect the damage. Jon S. foamed the family room wall with Termidor. He came back on a latter visit to treat the outside wall with Termidor HE. Jon is very responsive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. He explains what's going on and answers all of my questions. He did an awesome job. Cowley's is easy to schedule appointments with them and they're on time. so mattress was delivered at 10:30am, driver said we had bedbugs. From work i called Cowleys and they were there at 11:35. Tom inspected and no bedbugs but carpet beetles. Cowleys had a technician there at 12:20 to treat the bedroom. All is well and good. in my 52 years i have never had a company respond as fast as Cowleys. Tom was great as well as the office workers. Keep doing what you are doing, great job. If only doctors were like Cowleys. read more

I was not satisfied with their pest removal program because after 1 week and 10 ground hogs they said they were done. I told them we had more and they said they didn't know we were up against a tree line and that they don't spend more than a week trapping. I explained that no one asked us if we were near a tree line and the sales rep said they would keep trapping until they were all gone. They mentioned that on the contract we estimated that we had 5 groundhogs. I said they all look the same, how are we supposed to know how many there are? I made a good effort to resolve the issue and they said they would have to charge us another $500 to come out and set bait and traps for us. I said I wanted my money back and they said NO. I thought I had a rattlesnake in the brush in front of my house. The police came and heard it but did not have any tools to help and advised me to call a pest person. It was a Friday afternoon and Animal control was closed. I called Cowley's and they told me a wildlife specialist would come out for a consultation. Days later, they sent someone who could not even hear the rattling noise. He said he had hearing problems and was unable to hear high pitched sounds. He did not help me in any way. He just dropped off a trap that was not even near the spot where the rattling was. I could have dropped a trap myself. I called and complained and the manager told me that after 7 days he would send another technician to pick up the trap and talk to me. He told me to be home at 8 am. I waited around all day. In the afternoon at 2pm I had an appointment and left for 2 hours and I came back to see that the trap was gone. I paid $319 for someone to just drop a trap. I got no consultation or help. I finally called animal control and they were a HUGE help. They calmed my fears... and it was totally free. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
