Located on the second floor of Ala Moana, shopping center. Local motion has been one of the local store on the island for many years. They have lot of T-shirts, surf shorts and they also carry other name brands too. T-shirt usually cost about $23 or so, pretty good price. I brought a very traditional T-shirt with their logo on it. If you come to visit Hawaii, you should go get one Local motion shirt and bring home. Go check it out.

Local Motion is located on the third level of the Ewa Wing at Ala Moana Center. I stepped foot into the clothing store a couple of times already. The advertisement of buy one get second one 50% off captured my attention. Each time I stepped foot into the store the employees would greet me right away. During my first visit I walked around the store until I reached the men's section and I found a rack with sweaters. Some of the sweaters were hoodies while other sweaters had the zipper in front. I ended up grabbing two sweaters with the zipper in front. I paid for my items using my credit card. On my most recent visit to Local Motion was on Mother's Day 2019. My mom and I walked into the store and started to browse around. My mom mentioned to me that she wanted tank tops. We looked at the women's tank tops and we found couple of them. I grabbed two XL tank tops for my mom. We then went to the men's section and I found two tank tops that I liked. Two of the items were regular priced while the other two items were 50% off. I paid for the four tank tops and gave Mom her items while I kept the other two. Mom was happy with her Mother's Day gift.

On a hunt for some sustainable swimming shorts? These ones are made from up-cycled coconut "waste" and plastic bottles to create perfect performance shorts - fast-drying and odor-resistant! Good design, have a pocket on one side with Velcro and a string to attach keys etc. Tested by my husband - very good quality!

Pretty cool shop. Typically Surf / Skate clothing offered. A little bit more of trendier end of clothing as a opposed to places. They have some great brand and they also produce their own clothing and accessories. I just got this cool 20 L dry bag backpack for $28. I've been to marine store and saw basically the same for as much $60 in the past, without any backpack straps. They had lots of different sizes and very useful in Hawaii where there's a lot of exposure to the elements. I usually browse the shirts and board shorts here Own a shirt or two. They make their own Aloha shirts too. It's nice to have lots of local shops doing their own thing in the area. I need to stop in more often they have some cool products.

Soft opening for the new Local Motion in Ala Moana, and I must say, I'm really impressed. Located in the old Diesel spot that was next to their old location, Local Motion has always been one of my favorite places to shop, and they really stepped up their shopping experience. A lot of their clothes are efficiently and tastefully displayed making sure you know the product youre buying. They have a pretty sick mural in their board room, which they expanded. And, I've been told that the mural will change every so often which is pretty awesome. Their merchandise is always on point, and they have a good selection of both surf and lifestyle. Definitely a must shop for surf gear.

The Merrie Monarch vibes must have kicked in and I had to finally pop that cherry. I initially went with my hula family and used that time to soak everything in. The next day I went back alone to purchase a few items I couldn't stop thinking about. Both Nāpali and Hōkūpa'a hyped me up during my visit and all items I tried on was sold on the spot. Countless hugs and mahalo were exchanged during my encounter with them. Again, I had to go in a third time just to mahalo your (business) ʻohana during my trip to Hilo! Just about a week later I figured I would "window shop" again during my lunch break at South Shore Market and I was able to catch up with Hōkūpa'a. Then after some time of being educated about the items at the store I was sold again - resulting in me purchasing even more items than I did in Hilo! More hugs and mahalo were shared that day. I can't thank Nāpali a me Hōkūpa'a and the rest of the Salvage Public ʻohana enough for your continued legendary service every time I visit.

He didn't know where they got it from. Then he found a small in the other shirt he received and the male sales associate asked if he had a gift receipt. No, we didn't have one. So he asked "when did you receive it?" My husband said on May 19. He said "Oh, that's more than 30 days-we can't exchange it." Today is the 20th of June. Seriously!?!?! Arrive very early. The line starts well before sunrise. On Tuesday, the first person arrived at 4:50 AM; I got there at 6:00 AM and was already in the third section of the line. Another day I arrived at 3:45 AM thinking I would be first, but someone had been there since 3:30 AM. Small sizes are especially difficult to get. If you line up before 8:00 AM, you'll generally have a better chance at Medium through XXL. 2. They may open before the posted time. Although the store lists a 10:00 AM opening, it has opened around 9:15 AM. 3. Use the next-day exchange option. If your preferred size is unavailable, buy an available size and return around 9:00 AM the following day to exchange it. Keep in mind that exchanges are only for swapping sizes. You cannot purchase additional items during that visit. And since Small sells out quickly, it may still be difficult to exchange into one. Overall, the staff is friendly and professional, especially considering they manage huge crowds all day and answer the same questions repeatedly. Great store, but treat it like an early-morning event rather than a casual shopping stop. Although not at the scale of the Tokyo Ginza flagship, it's one of the global chain's larger stores with an expansive multi-floor space. They offer the Brands Hawaiian Loco line, which is quite a distinct array of T-shirts spotlighting locally renowned businesses like Leonard's Bakery, Hawaiian Airlines, and Zippy's. I even bought one featuring a bowl of Zippy's saimin called Zipmin (Photo 4). I also really liked their line of aloha shirts because designs came from top quality Japanese block prints. I fell in love with one shirt based on Hokusai's "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa". I had never seen one like that before. They even offer opportunities to customize T-shirts and tote bags using exclusive designs from local artists. There's enough here to justify a shopping expedition.
