    Chile Pepper Jalapeño
    Raj M.

The secret of happiness is variety, but the secret of variety, like the secret of all spices, is knowing when to use it. ~ Daniel Gilbert My coworker gifted me Chile Pepper Jalapeño from Local Spicery. I used it for the first time while preparing my daily morning routine omelette. I used this gifted spice vs crushed red peppers and I was immediately sold. The KICK that the jalapeño peppers brought to my omelette was perfect, the heat I was expecting was there. Today I sprinkled jalapeño peppers on pizza and it added to the flavor and wasn't overpowering. I immediately checked out their website www.localspicery.com to see what else they offer and the list goes on and on from all kind of spices to aromatic teas. I will definitely be ordering more stuff from their website in the near future.

Located in Marysville right next door to a dollar store along the train tracks, it reminded me of the El Torito markets now gone from where I lived in Leucadia (coastal San Diego). Nobody had recommended it to me. I didn't look up the reviews. I just parked and went in on a hunch for lunch. The place is bright, neat and clean. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. There is a window to order food next to a small, quiet in-store dining area. I ordered a carne asada torta to go. The bun was fresh and aromatic. The beef was good, not over-seasoned and topped with lots of onions, a slice of red tomato that was actually red, and perfectly ripe avocado slices -- all for just over $10. There is a separate counter for bulk catering orders, and a separate meat counter (carneceria) where the fresh meats are neatly presented. A small fresh vegetable cooler is practically curated. There are a few shelves of canned goods as well. There are coolers with drinks, though I couldn't find my favorite Sidral apple soda which is my beverage of choice at my favorite Mexican food restaurant, Karina's which is still in business on coast highway in Leucadia. But that was not worth complaining about because I found a bottle of tasty mango soda instead. The restroom was spotless with rapid hot water at the sink (a rarity in restaurants of any ilk) and ample paper towels. This kind of service and presentation does not happen by accident. It is obvious that ownership and staff take great pride in their business. Nothing trendy or exotic here, but if you're hungry for straightforward Mexican meat, beans, rice, chips, tortillas or chicharrones, and you are anywhere near the center of Central California, El Torero is the place to go.

Everything was very good my whole family loved each dish. Even my husband who at first refused saying he doesn't like Thai food. Also my 7 year old who is particular with certain foods, he asked for more tofu. I rated some not a 10 due to my pregnancy preferred taste. Will definitely try next time and dine in. I recommend, at first I was a little hesitant due to the recent bad reviews but I am very happy that I tried it myself.

I said from the time I ordered I don't want it spicy, and guess what they did the opposite. It was too spicy so I ended up not eating it. The pad see ew has a weird taste as well. Taste like other stir fry it on a used oil or something and they put barely any meat. For the price I paid an and similar Thai restaurant they're very cheap on that. I'm not recommending this place save your money or spend it somewhere else. When I came to this place, I was the only customer there and noticed their floor were so dirty as if no one is mopping it for a month and lots of spider web on their ceiling and under the chair.
