This is the EVOO we bought. Grassy and pungent.

Visited on 7/3/2016. We stopped by at Grass Valley on the way back from Sierra City. During our short walk after lunch I found a fancy olive oil shop. The store has a variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegar. I like the non flavored extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) so my focus was mainly on them. But the store also has flavored ones like sriracha, chicken tikka masala, etc. I've visited many olive oil shops and one thing that Olive groove had and other stores didn't have was the information. See the pictures I posted. These pieces of info are very helpful and I liked it. Their variety of balsamic vinegar is amazing too. At the end we ended up buying the olive oil and the balsamic vinegar. The owner was very kind and helpful too. If on come back to this area again, I will definitely revisit.

Great products and cute store but not customer service oriented. I suggest ordering on line.

They have so many varieties of fresh olive oils and balsamic vinegar that go great with our love for wine.

Brilliant blend of Eastern and Western modalities…read more They shine in their homemade tinctures. Their Adaptogen Blend: Ashwagandha, Holy Basil, Rhodiola, Schisandra, Licorice, Eleuthero & Milky Oat. Named Sustainable Energy, this organic-based blend will balance out many constitutions. Full Moon Blend supports cycles. Spleen tincture for especially demanding times. I was guided to exchange another tincture I'd purchased for pick-up, and I have to say, the second one she invited me to try was not only pendulum-confirmed by my body - such a positive read it was bouncing off my solar-plexus - it nourished my Spleen in profound ways. The Spleen formula she said was for students, and as I was finishing up my graduate thesis, this seriously helped. Thank you, thank you. She herself got her graduate degree in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and said this tincture helped her through her studies. (Wish I could give her credit by naming her, but will add it if I see her there, again. Very helpful.) She translated a wealth of information to me in succinct, kind and clear ways. I also appreciated that rather than have me get what I thought would serve me, she stepped up to confirm which choices were good and guided me to a choice that was better. This reflected proactive care. Each person here has an intuitive way of letting you do your thing while stepping in to assist at the right moment. I appreciate this. I used to frequent Scarlet Sage & Herb Co. in San Francisco before and after they changed hands and this is the closest I've found to that store's original conception. They have a deep respect for plant-medicine, here. They also have a down-to-earth vibe while consciously relating to and working with community in support of other locally-based people, businesses and products. Their tinctures are now spread out throughout the bay. I'd recommend going in person, however, as they have many additional tinctures that are either unavailable or sold-out online. Sanitizer right at the door. Social distancing practiced. Clear walls at the register. Clearly marked footprints on the ground as reminders. Got a solid Clary Sage here, too. Keep those dreams alive!

I browsed on the website and definitely wanted Strong Lung Syrup, so I called to see if I could do a curbside pick up. Lucy answered, she was very kind and extremely knowledgeable, she also recommended Respiratory Recoup and N-Acetyl L-Cysteine as well as the lung syrup. She ran my credit card over the phone and shortly after our call I scrambled down to Five Flavor Herbs where she brought the items out to me in a bag with my name on it. I am feeling so much better now and breathing through my nose again! I am so grateful for Lucy's kindness towards me when I sounded audibly sick on the phone with a very hoarse voice. From the bottom of my heart thank you Lucy for all of your help and the kindness you extended to me when I was in a time of need.

I said how I've already been walking around the entire store shopping without one so I'll just pay and leave now and she said they would refuse my money before letting me pay for the items unless a mask with strapped to my face How about just letting it be done with since I am already literally about to walk out and reminding me next time there is a mask rule at this particular store (not all stores are like this) instead of being rather irate and causing a scene? They also charge a 5% tax for Covid-19 Employee Hazard Pay. You can opt out if you happen to read their little sign by the register and know about it but they conveniently don't mention it while making the payment......like literally every other single donation based program does. So it's basically a surprise tax that you either just deal with afterwards or look petty asking for it back because it takes it away from the employees. How about just pay your employees more money because you're a grocery store that clearly makes good profit? And maybe a tip jar so people can do so at their leisure? Does all that 5% really actually even go to employees? Certainly won't be shopping here again. Shame cause they actually h e some nice stuff that I didn't see in the other stores.

My friends ordered gluten free bread and pasta, but they def still had something with gluten in it and it was probably the sauce :( Had the crespelle and it was very good (basically a crepe drenched in sauce). The sauce is creamy but very tangy, almost sour. Would have liked it to be even cheesier inside, but solid dish overall, very soft, good amount of spinach and mushrooms inside, can cut with fork. I wouldn't get it again just because it wasn't a good match for my taste preference (not huge on tangy), but it was good! The saltimbocca alla romana was really good, I would get that one again. Very creamy sauce, the chicken was nice and tender, flavorful and juicy. The polenta was soft but still had a thick almost bready texture, like if you soaked cornbread (but tastes like plain polenta, not like sweet cornbread). If you've never had polenta before, it's sort of a thick grainy oatmeal-like texture. The semifreddo was like if you took tiramisu, added more espresso, and condensed it down into a singular flat slice of cake / bread pudding (soft mushy texture). Delicious sauce, very strong on the whiskey/caramel flavor. Would definitely get that one again. Service was great, and the garlic bread was surprisingly soft and delicious.
