They have the best EVOO ( extra virgin olive oil) and seasoned salts ! Plus vinegars and so much more! I picked up more smoked salts which flavors everything! They have free tastings as well. The employees that work there are VERY knowledgeable to meet your needs! It's a great place with cheeses and more! Love this place as always! read more

Simply the best olive oil and vinegars I've ever tasted. I wasn't intending to purchase anything but we got a large olive oil and two or three small vinegars. The tasting was fun. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. read more

Visited on 7/3/2016. We stopped by at Grass Valley on the way back from Sierra City. During our short walk after lunch I found a fancy olive oil shop. The store has a variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegar. I like the non flavored extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) so my focus was mainly on them. But the store also has flavored ones like sriracha, chicken tikka masala, etc. I've visited many olive oil shops and one thing that Olive groove had and other stores didn't have was the information. See the pictures I posted. These pieces of info are very helpful and I liked it. Their variety of balsamic vinegar is amazing too. At the end we ended up buying the olive oil and the balsamic vinegar. The owner was very kind and helpful too. If on come back to this area again, I will definitely revisit. read more

My friend loves their mission fig balsamic. So, we went to grab some more for her to stock up on. It was my first time there, so we sampled several vinegar flavors and they were so good I couldn't pick a favorite nor could I walk away empty handed. So, I bought apricot, raspberry and a dipping dish. Debbie was really sweet and helpful. She even gift wrapped my items for me. Hoping to order more from them in the future and have it shipped to me. I wish I could give this business more stars (their store is well stocked with a variety of olive oils, balsamic vinegars and teas) however, their customer service was extremely lacking the day I visited. There was a young gentlemen that was working during lunch. He seemed completely uninterested in saying hi, acknowledging our presence, or even asking if we had any questions. I was really excited to try and buy some new balsamic vinegars. A lot of friends referred me to try it out. I'll visit one more time and give them another shot... hopefully they train this young man properly. read more

We moved to the area last summer and discovered Olive Groove on one of our weekend ventures. It's a small little store packed with tons of flavor! They have so many varieties of fresh olive oils and balsamic vinegar that go great with our love for wine. You can sample both the oil and vinegars and in fact they have charts that recommend pairings of oil and vinegar. Stop in and check it out. read more

Before the pandemic, back when I had my shop in Old Town Sacramento I'd bring my small dog to work with me. During breaks I'd take her on walks around Old Town and got to meet a lot of people. Twice a month we'd go shopping at The Chef's Olive Mix. They were always very welcoming. We recently moved to the Grass Valley area. My husband and I have enjoyed taking our dog on walks in downtown Grass Valley. Up until the 2021 Christmas season began we'd mostly window shop out of respect for small business owners. I've been there myself though I always welcomed people with pets into my shop. I know how much we think of our pets as family. So right before Christmas we noticed a couple with a cute dog inside The Olive Groove. We, literally, went in because we thought they were pet friendly. It made sense to us since they serve their samples in the back. Anyway, we ended up making a purchase and we were thrilled that we'd found The Olive Groove. However, this weekend we went back ready to purchase and this time we brought our small dog with us. As soon as we came into the store we were told that we couldn't bring her in. So we left. The rules should be the same for all not just for a certain few. I guess we will continue to go to The Olive Mix. We like them enough to buy their products and send them across the country to family and friends. The Olive Groove does not get my business. When I'm on Main Street it is because I'm taking my dog on a walk and I can't leave her on the sidewalk unattended while I shop. Needless to say a disappointing experience and good experiences matter. read more

This shop is EVERYTHING. Wow didn't expect like 30 different oils and spices with infusions such as blood orange, cilantro, blackberry and ginger. They have bottle sizes to fit all budgets. Also they have CBD body butter that made my eczema on my forehead disappear. A must see if you're traveling through the area. read more

This place is amazing! We decided to walk in one day and omgggggg they have such an incredible selection. They also have pairing suggestions - we decided to listen to the pairings and we got the bourbon balsamic vinegar and the lemon herb olive oil. Together, they were INCREDIBLE. They blend so well and have such an amazing rich taste. Quality olive oils aren't cheap in the first place but their prices are reasonable and it's cool to support a local business! read more

My husband and I visited the Olive Groove today, Mar 29. We live here in Grass Valley. We had visited this store on several occasions and were interested in purchasing tea and flavored oils they have available. I am not a Yelper. However, I felt like I needed to post this review on Yelp because I did not like the way we were treated. My husband and I were not dressed in our usual attire. However, my money is just as green as the tourists who frequent Mill Street. The woman was discourteous in the manner in which I felt my husband and I were treated. We asked to sample several oils with the intent of making a purchase. We felt like we were bothering her and the questions we asked were met with a surly reply. I have a Sales and Human Resources management background. I understand the value of customers relationships and as a business owner, I would want to know if my employees have mistreated my customers. It was not until my husband opened his wallet did I feel that this woman become engaged in our time spent at The Olive Groove. Happy with my purchase, however, extremely disappointed in the shopping experience. read more

This place has the best infused Olive oils and Balsamic vinegar I've ever had. We were staying the weekend in Grassvalley and happened upon this Store. Smelled amazing, and the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. I chose the Mushroom garlic infused oil..and Staff paired it perfectly with the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar. I could literally drink this stuff out of the bottle. Do yourself a favor and shop here. read more

Seriously..... My wife tricked me to go shopping with her downtown Grass Valley. I felt a lil vulnerable and I was already planning my revenge for this journey down Mill St... Until we came across the Olive Groove. I have walked by numerous times over the years and just assumed it was a wine bar .... Well to my delight this is the Coolest place I've been to in a long time. They have every flavor possible... We were in there doing olive oil shots like we were partying at the bar it was a blast. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Its a must stop and try. Great for gifts and unique cooking flavors. We bought the Habanero Olive Oil and Apricot Balsamic Vinegar. Man Alive its a great combo . It really was a great experience for us. I've been patronizing this Olive Grove for years. I've introduced it to friends and family. I give the products as gifts. I swear by their products. Today they gifted me a bottle of olive oil for not being opened at the posted time. I had walked back to my car disappointed to then drive by and see they just opened so I parked and walked back to the store. Small town excellent customer service. I love this store!!! I appreciate really good olive oil and balsamic vinegar, not the crap they sell in grocery stores. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and will give you great suggestions for pairing different flavored oils with vinegars. I'm completely addicted to the blood orange balsamic!! I cannot live without it. I've also just recently purchased the Sicilian lemon white balsamic, which is also to die for! The owner also customized some gift packs for me. AND, I just learned they do private tasting parties after hours!! HOW FUN DOES THAT SOUND? The shop is in an old building that just gives off that warm inviting feeling. They also sell a very lovely line of olive oil soaps and lotions and have other fun accessories. Definitely a go to place for gifts for the foodies in your life! I love that you can sample all kinds of delicious combinations of olive oils and vinegars. My favorite is Persian Lime olive oil with Coconut Balsamic vinegar. Great on salads and for grilling shrimp and fish. Many other tasty combinations as well. And the bottles are refillable. read more

Love love love this place! The olive oil is excellent and the vinegars are the bomb! Just recently tried the Expresso in my hamburger before grilling and it was super delicious! Mostly I love that you can use the olive oil and one of the flavored vinegars without anything on your salad and it is so good and so simple. read more
