Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. This little shop is well worth the drive into town because of how darn cute it is!

There are rooms of games, Maine items, body products and jewelry, and kitchen wares and jams. There are Christmas themed rooms, kids games, candles and glassware. You name it, they have it. The kinds of things offered are probably selected through the eye of the buyer, and, to be fair, there was a wide range of options. Everything in the store was designed by a local Artists. I probably did 5 or 6 laps around every display in the shop. They had shirts, sweaters, hats, stickers, pins, art prints and some much more. They have a ton of variety including smaller less expensive items to larger paintings that may cost more. Staff have always been extremely friendly and will greet you with a smile and answer any questions you have. It will always be the store that helped me find one of my favorite local artists Flyn who have since opened their own retail space. Truly the perfect spot to grab yourself or family that item that will remind you of your time in Maine. You will find at least one item you want to purchase if not more. The owner worked hard redoing it & getting it ready for her trading post. I love the hard wood floors, this place is just really cozy and nice. :-) I definitely will have to stop in again when I'm back in town & up this way.
