Came here during the Fairhope Art show looking for an early lunch. The streets were packing with people and coming in early was the move. We had no wait but later in the day, it was busy. The aesthetic of this restaurant is 10/10. I recommend sitting outside on the porch or heading around back for an outdoor garden feel. Here you can find a quick service bar. The menu was small, but I enjoyed the bruschetta & chicken sandwich. Overall, a good choice if in town.

This place actually kind of reminded me of a cute venue in Athens at the Plaka. The lighting, the outdoor alleyway, the live music outside, and the sexy ambiance. It is just adorable here. We stayed for one drink and an appetizer, although the Valentine's Day menu looked great. The maple bourbon old fashioned was good, albeit a little sweet. Everyone near us at the bar was local and we really enjoyed talking to them and learning more about their amazing little town. Even the folks who live upstairs were there and they brought their sweet little doggy.

While visiting Fairhope and window shopping, we stopped at Locals for some lunch. Due to the summer heat we ate inside where there was a little coolness. There are plenty of tables outside and also another building a little further down a walkway. I chose the Pecan Arugula salad, topped with goat cheese and dried cherries. This went excellently with the maple balsamic dressing! I added the chicken for some protein. Pretty large portion for a lunch, and reasonably priced.

Locals is a gem in the heart of Fairhope. My husband had a burger. He said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. I had the shrimp and grits. It was so yummy. The food was worth every penny! read more

We were looking for a restaurant with local fare. This was just the right place. Chicken was moist and tender. Fries were delicious. Mahi-mahi was excellent. Love the casual atmosphere and soft music so we could hear each other. Too bad it's a 7 hour drive or we'd be back often. read more

Good burgers, large and juicy. One special meat, which was kangaroo when we went. We chose grass fed beef. You can choose your own options, I had a Gouda with mushrooms and garlic aioli. The bread is a bit thick but everything is made there. Loved that the fries were fresh cut. Finished off with bread pudding, too sweet but good. It was perfect to take home and top with vanilla ice cream. It was full for lunch and only 1 server. She was great but it was slow at the end. read more

This small restaurant serves amazing food. I had the best burger I have eaten in many years! I ordered the lamb burger with provence cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and garlic aioli. The provence cheese has the perfect hint of rosemary to complement the lamb beautifully. They have a great selection of local cheeses and wild game burgers. I wish I had more days left in Alabama so I could sample all of the options! My dining companions raved about the chicken sandwich and grilled mahi sandwich. Oh! And the house made french fries are perfectly seasoned! read more

Great food and great service. I loved being able to build my own burger and the fact that all the veggies are farm to table is fantastic. Local cheeses and a wild game selection daily. A little pricey for a burger but I felt it was worth it. BYOB and there is no cork fee. They even have ice buckets available for your use. We also tried the shrimp and gouda cheese grits... amazing. We'll definitely be back. I can't wait to try out the breakfast. read more

Locals is one of those places you are always looking for, hoping to find - a small, comfortable place doing things right. The owners support local farmers and suppliers, they combine real products and real flavors to create awesome dishes. The Shrimp & Grits are like no other. Smokey, a little heat, loads of Gulf Shrimp and Conecuh Sausage cooked in cream. Perfect with focaccia bread for dipping. read more

This family-owned restaurant has terrific menu choices, including vegetarian. Food is cooked on the spot, and from scratch, and it's all wonderful. I went in once just for their French fries, which is like a small meal. They are fresh-cut potatoes, thick fries (so they don't absorb any grease!), and they taste amazing. The quality here is superb, and a nice atmosphere. This place is the opposite of a chain, and the prices are very reasonable. One of my all-time favorite places to eat, ever. Oh, and don't forget their dlelicious breakfast! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Ashley and Wade P.

We have both been in the restaurant business since we were in our teens and almost fifty now. Ashley grew up in Fairhope and there was always a a burger joint so she decided to open one but wanted to put a healthy and local spin on things so everything came from her neighbors! Wade is the making chef and together we make a great team! Can't wait to meet you!

Hubby and I expected to stop in for a quick snack. What we got was a dining surprise that left us glowing with happiness for the rest of the afternoon. Not only was the food AMAZING--we had seafood bisque and homemade bread--but the atmosphere quaint and the hostess CHARMING!!!! Her hubby, the chef, even strolled out to ask if we'd enjoyed our meal.
