    Labor day, place is busy

Another great meal, we arrived before sunset and sat at a table with a view out the window. We ordered the grilled shrimp with broccolli / cauliflower and roasted potatoes, she had the lemon butter chicken with broccoli / cauliflower and roasted potatoes. Both our meals were tasty. Our server did a good job during our visit. For a Monday night, it was pretty busy.

Tonight we had a group dinner while in town on a business trip. There were 9 in our group and Chris was our waiter. He took very good care of us and explained the specials as well as some of the dishes they were known for. He also made sure we knew that they were featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We started with the Seared Tuna Nachos, Sautéed Mussels and Fried Crab Claws (not on the menu). I didn't try the Nachos, but the Sautéed Mussels and Fried Crab Claws were great. For my entree, I had the Blackened Gulf Snapper Throats. They were excellent. For beer with the appetizers I had the Southern Prohibition Devil's Harvest IPA and for my cocktail with dinner, I had the Apple of My Eye. It was delicious.

I go to Sunset point often and always have a great meal. My favorite thing to order is the grilled grouper sandwich. Always good service and the people there are very nice. The location is awesome looking out at the boats.

Lunch on Saturday - ate on the deck. View of marina is great and service from James was top notch. Started with some of the seasonal cocktails. The Apple of my Eye was very good if you like bourbon. The Midnight Reserve is made with rum and was a bit too minty. For lunch I had the seafood lettuce wraps. The proteins were all cooked well but combined with the veggies and condiments, it missed the mark being mediocre at best. Hubby had the fish wrap (fried) and it was very good. Fries were okay but not great. Over all, this place tries to be an upscale "yacht club" vibe but need to work on some basics in taste.

sat at the bar for dinner and not only received a great meal and drinks but were treated to a first class bar demonstration. travis was mixing drinks and it was truly a show to watch. not only was he so knowledgeable but the drinks were amazing! dinner choices were the fried grouper sandwich and blackened snapper throats. both were fantastic but the snapper throats were fantastic. i had never seen those on a menu before. i'm gonna try those fried next time! this is a casual atmosphere with a great patio, just a little too chilly for me.

We arrived around 3 pm and they were still quite busy. We were able to sit outside on a the waterfront with the majority of the guests. We were immediately greeted by our server Thomas and he did not disappoint. My friend had the grouper burger and he said it was blackened and seasoned real well and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. He and I both found the Cole slaw okay. It was a marinade with peppers and onions. I would eat it again but if something else was offered I think I would choose it. The sweet potato chips were cold when they arrived on my plate but we both agree that we think that served hot they would be good. My fish were served hot and fried to perfection! I will definitely order them again!! We had the chocolate strawberry cake for dessert and it was okay not one I would order again. The four stars is because the chips were cold. We will return to try other items on the menu.

If you're in Fairhope you must visit this coastal eatery. Great sunset views of Mobile Bay with amazing seafood. Super friendly and fun service makes it more the better. You won't be disappointed making the drive out here. It's just one of those places you won't forget.

Amazing dinner with friends tonight at Sunset Pointe! Delicious food and great wait service by James. Our group shared tuna nachos before we ordered our entrees. Great night dining by the water!!

Stopped in for a couple drinks. Really enjoyed speaking with Tucker the bartender. He was extremely knowledgeable on drinks and cocktails. Good recommendations. AC works wonderfully! They have indoor and outdoor patio seating on the water.

Loved this cute little restaurant! We sat outside in 90 degree weather and the fan misters made it feel 70 degrees. Our food was great. Service was great. My boys wanted pina coladas. They concocted a drink for them that they loved. We walked around the marina for a bit. We enjoyed looking at all the beautiful boats. We hope to be back!

We ordered the steak special- which is what we usually get. Our steaks were extremely overcooked- like tough to eat. We send them back and the new steaks were almost raw. They gave us some fries that were basically just the end pieces. At that point we just kept the steaks and tried to eat them. The table next to us also had to send their food back because it wasn't cooked correctly. Not sure if they have a new kitchen staff or what is going on- but we have never had any issues with this place. It may be why so few people were there. Hopefully the food quality will improve because this was one of our usual places for a good steak.

It honestly feels a little like you stumbled into a hidden spot on vacation. The food was solid across the board. You can tell they actually care about what they're serving, everything tasted fresh, not heavy or overdone. The menu has a great mix, from burgers to pasta and seafood, so it's easy to find something no matter what you're in the mood for. The shrimp and grits and the pasta dishes are delicious , and even the appetizers were on point. Service was just as good, friendly, attentive, but not hovering. You don't feel rushed, which is rare these days. What really makes this place though is the vibe. Whether you sit inside or out, it's got that relaxed, slightly upscale but still comfortable feel. If you're in Fairhope and want somewhere that feels local (not touristy), this is it. Easy 5 stars. Will definitely go back!!

It was my wife's birthday, and thus she had the privilege to choose where we would go for brunch…read more I had previously decided that I would not dine at this restaurant again, not because I had some gripe about the food, which was excellent, but because their table arrangement in the main dinning area made it difficult for wheelchair bound customers, such as myself, to navigate. This was not a hard and solid decision on my part. Instead I had decided that if I had my druthers, I would not eat there. Of course when it is my babécita's birthday my druthers were of no consideration and I found myself again at Tamara's for a Saturday brunch. We arrived to find the main dinning area to be full, and since we didn't feel like eating in the open to the outside area, we learned that we had an estimated 20-30 minutes wait for a table. Their was six to eight customers waiting around the hostess's stand inside, with another six waiting outside under a covered area. We decided to wait outside, but after about 15 minutes a rain shower began. The kind people waiting on the benches and standing under the awning encouraged us to move in further from the edge where they we were getting wet. A couple standing moved into the restaurant to make even more room for us. The hostess, seeing that it was raining outside when this couple opened the door, came to the door and invited us all in, announcing that she would make room for us all. Which she promptly did. My wife had informed the hostess of my needs, and had requested a corner table for ease of access, but once inside the restaurant, I noticed that the table arrangement seemed less crowded, which helped to ease my concerns about getting to a table. As it happened, right at the 20 minute mark, we were informed that our table was ready, and we were led to a table, not on a corner, but to a table at the end of a row of tables, and against a partition. I found this arrangement even better than our requested corner table, as it meant that I had no foot traffic behind me that I might inadvertently bump into, or bump into me. I was grateful for the evidently experienced hostess working out such a fine alternative to our request, and doing it in such a timely manner. Now I get to the food, and wait staff service. All I can say is that Tamara's management has both pegged to the highest degree. Our waiter appeared immediately, took our orders since we had perused the menu while we were waiting to be seated. As for our food, my birthday girl had the Spinach Eggs Benedict, and I had the Fried Chicken and Waffles. Both were excellent. Neither of us had a single complaint, and my wife, who is fascinated with Tamara's long list of various types of Eggs Benedicts, promised that we will be back for many more visits to try each one. I am grateful that I was forced to forego my pledge not to patronize this establishment again, as it provided an opportunity to learn how the good people at Tamara's made adjustments that allowed my experience to be enjoyed more fully. I am also grateful in that we can continue to enjoy their excellent food.

From the coffee to the biscuit and everything in between, you can tell that those folks in the back know how to cook breakfast. My wife ordered the Western omelet, and opted for the Spinach. We were a table of 8 adults and 2 young children, which we shared when making our reservation. When we arrived, there were no high chairs, which is okay, but of course can a bit difficult with two children under two. Although it was raining, we took the two little ones outside (where no one was dining) to walk around and burn some energy while waiting on our meal to be served. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and so kind, but another woman kept glaring at our two children, rolling her eyes at them, and intentionally almost running into them when we stood up to walk outside or when they would walk close to our table to be held by another adult in our party... almost as if to prove a point. Turns out, this very unkind lady was the owner. After coming back inside to return to our table, she approached one of the mothers and spoke very rudely telling her that the children needed to stay in their chairs. Two children under two in adult chairs... the children were not being loud or disruptive, simply children who don't have the ability to sit still -- we had been there for 45 minutes at this point. A heads up that it isn't a kid-friendly environment or the lack of high chairs would've been wonderful. We would've happily chosen to spend the lots and lots of money we spent there, elsewhere. The two mothers and children left the establishment in tears due to how they were treated, not even having a bite of food ordered. We were absolutely appalled to find out that it was the owner, Daneen Buck, behaving that way -- everyone else working there was extremely kind and the other guests were so friendly with both babies. If you have children or love any child in your life, I highly advise you to spend your money elsewhere. I hate that we gave her any business at all.
